Chapter 1: Prologue

"The hundred years war. Just its name still makes many shiver in terror. You can smell the blood of many innocent as the thought passes through your mind, and hear the children's screams as your lips spell the words." The woman lets out a sigh. "You're going to sleep after this, alright?"

"Yes, mama" nods the boy as he tucks his feet under his fluffy blanket, waiting for his mom. 

"Once upon a time, in a forgotten dimension of angels and demons, lived two noble families. One angel, and the other, demon.." The woman turns off the lights and makes her way towards the boy's bed. 

"..They always fought for control of that dimension, but strict orders from both angel and demon royal courts kept them from acting out .." Says the woman, as she turns on a night lamp. 

"One day, the only son of the angel family and the third son of the demon family, realized they both fell in love with the same girl. They both didn't want to lose her, and acted foolishly.”

"The heads of both families called for help from other families, as the matter between the young men escalated. Each one claimed that 'they' were more worthy than the other, but none could prove it. They both acted recklessly, since negative emotions had taken control over both of them." She sits at the edge of his bed. "Even the angel guy?" Asks the young boy. 

"Yes, even the angel guy." She said as she lovingly caressed his hair. 

"Eventually, other angel and demon families stepped in, trying to solve the issue since none of them could have the girl. They only worsened everything by taking sides. Each passing day, more angels and demons joined this fight and forgot about the cause of this disagreement. They were blinded by the darkness and power, and their hatred for one another grew as the days passed."

"Finally, the demon bachelor decided to murder his rival and make it easier for both his family and himself. Without an heir, the angel family would have no choice but to give up possession of their dimension to the demon nobles. With the angels raging for revenge, the war between angels and demons had begun." 

"Woah" says the little boy, getting closer to his mother, his eyes widening with excitement.

The woman coughs and continues. "The war lasted for a hundred years. Angels and demons from all dimensions were enraged and wanted to defeat the other. They fought, unaware of the fact that none could defeat the other. Angels and demons could not exist without each other, some have noticed that. Finally, after years of murdering and slaughter, rulers of angel and demon kingdoms decided to call truce. After all these years, they couldn't bear a war over something impossible, which is defeating the other kind." She roughly coughs again, but clears her throat and continues.

"When the truce was settled, many of the rules in the angel and demon dimensions changed. Most of them were to protect angels and demons from each other. They've decided to hide wings, halos and horns of both kinds with a very strong and ancient spell. This made them live alongside each other just like humans, and now centuries after that day, no one seems to care about being an angel or a demon anymore.." her coughs stop her from going further. With a sip from her mug, she clears her throat again and smiles at her son.

"But who did the girl end up with?" Asks the boy, his eyes not the tiniest bit tired. 

"It's pretty late sweetheart, you need to sleep" the lady pulls the blanket over her son and tucks him in again. 

"You'll never tell me that part meanie, will you?" he frowns, and backs his mom. 

"Hey, I will tell you that part next time, promise!" The woman lets out a couple coughs after she gets up and gently kisses his forehead.
