“Screw you! I want that axe, 11,000 gold coins!”

“I’ll use 20,000 gold coins to buy your 11,000 gold coins because I can, I’ll raise the bid to 30,000 gold coins for the axe, and because I want my money to talk, I’ll spend 50,000 gold coins so I can tell you to bite me.”

  ****

  Damn!

What was overbearing? This was called overbearing!

Not only did he make an offer to buy Xiao Yanshi’s 11,000 gold coins for 20,000 gold coins, but he also increased the bid by nearly three times! Then, to add insult to injury, he just threw away 50,000 gold coins, saying that he is using it to tell Xiao Yanshi to bite him!

That didn’t even make sense, but who cares!? It was badass, and that’s all that matters!

But was it true!? Would he really spend money for a nonsensical, awesome, reason like that?

Sure enough, their question was answered and they could see that an attendant was summoned to Long Di’s box. He didn’t stay for too long and went straight to Xiao Yanshi’s private box!

It should be known that members of the Qian Dao Sect treated business and matters similarly to it with utmost importance. They wouldn’t carry less than what Long Di proposed simply to make him seem greater than he actually was. This was also why the Qian Dao Sect was the number one force when it came to conducting business. They were always fair and upright.

Nevertheless, this meant that Long Di truly gave 50,000 gold coins to that man to deliver to Xiao Yanshi!

Of course, Xiao Yanshi exploded in rage at this and kicked the attendant out. Of course, he didn’t dare to hurt him, but he made sure the latter was given a good scare in return.

Huli Ruo stared at the other private box with a stupefied expression. ‘Is he trying to impress me as well?’

Huli Ruo wasn’t wrong to wonder this question. Due to her innate abilities, she knew how many men would do anything to gain even a bit of her attention.

She was aware that there were those who would appear disinterested at first glance only to turn into dogs if she succumbed to such cheap tricks.

However, the issue was that Long Di sounded too lazy. His tone was suffused with a profound detachment and an authentic air of neutrality.

“Have you heard my bid, lady?” that same voice sounded once again.

“Oh!” With this reminder, Huli Ruo was awoken from her stupor only for a slight frown to appear on her face, ‘Lady? Everyone would call me Huli Ruo, or Madam Ruo. Just the way you said lady made me feel like I am some old hag! Just who are you to ignore me like this? Hmph! I will find out for myself just who you are!’

Even though this was what she thought, she still continued with the auction, “Is there anyone that wishes to continue bidding?”

She looked all around, her gaze causing certain areas of the people in the crowd to heat up.

  ‘That’s so unfair!’

Meanwhile, Xiao Yanshi was trembling with rage! Not only did this person slap him in his face with nonsensical verbal jabs that sounded hella awesome, but the latter’s actions also made him seem like some minor character.

See how no one was paying him any attention anymore? Huli Ruo didn’t even spare his direction a second glance.

He truly wanted to embarrass Long Di, and it was not that he didn’t have the money to do so. It was just that he was tasked to attain a certain item for his master, so he couldn’t engage in a battle of riches with some nameless nobody and risk losing his chance for the item at the end.

The anger in his heart still burned furiously! So what was he to do about this?

“Lord Yanshi, you’re not paying attention to this young one? You’re making me feel too pitiful…” one of the beauties he had in his arms said with an expression of forlorn.

Her current state would compel one to embrace her to ease her worries and provide comfort.

“That’s right, my lord,” the other beauty said with a pout. “You’re paying attention to someone other than us, even though we’re here.”

This one chose a different route, wearing an expression as if he had been wronged by her husband. One would feel obligated to make it up to her in any and every way possible.

With this, Xiao Yanshi put the previous matter at the back of his mind. As he descended into debauchery in the private box.

To Xiao Yanshi, such tasteless acts weren’t worth mentioning to him. He himself was well known for being extremely lustful and lecherous in his actions. He didn’t hide his desires either, being extremely arrogant and overbearing, especially when beautiful women were involved.

Just look at how he even targeted Huli Ruo, who was a part of the Qian Dao Sect. The number of women that had been destroyed by his hands was beyond count.

However, who told him to be the personal assistant of Chen Jie? Such a status allowed him to act unbridled wherever he went. So even those who were wronged by him could only suffer in silence.

On the outside, however, Long Di naturally won the bid for the axe. Inside the private box, everyone looked at Long Di with a meaningful smile and then at Jia Yan who also stared at the latter with a stunned expression.

He knew that Long Di didn’t use axes. After all, he was cultivating saber intent, the saber had to be the only thing on his mind. What did this mean?

This meant that Long Di only spent such a large sum of money to buy him a new weapon. This was a godsend too, considering that his last axe was damaged.

He knew Long Di wasn’t affected by that woman, so this was only for his sake. With this kind of friend, what more could he ask for?

Huli Ruo quickly took control of the auction so that this kind of heated atmosphere didn’t cool down. “The second item up for auction is a martial technique at the…”

Several items of great value were brought out and even Long Di had an interest in buying some of them after hearing their effects. Whenever he joined the bid, no one tried to compete with him.

Who was looking for suffering in this situation!? He threw 50,000 gold away and said he was using it to tell Xian Yanshi to bite him! If he could treat his words like they were worth so much gold, what else could be said?

  Vrrmm!

The atmosphere in the auction changed a great deal all of a sudden. The lights dimmed as the stage light grew slightly brighter.

There was another change that slightly took place as a result. Something that changed the aura of the auction in its entirety, but many couldn’t tell what it was.

“A cultivational auction,” Yaomu Shou said with a slightly surprised expression.

“A cultivational what now?” Long Di asked.

“A cultivational auction,” Yaomu Shou repeated. “It’s an auction that is meant to take place only in cities where mostly cultivators roam. Though in those cities, it’s still referred to as an auction. It’s only referred to as such in these special situations.”

“Does there really need to be such a huge commotion?” asked Tie Lang.

“In other cities? Not really. However, this is a mortal city and so the significance of this is magnified,” she advised.

As she observed the proceedings of the cultivation, she continued, “Mortal currency should have no more yield here.” She stared at Long Di as she said this.

“A different type of currency is most likely going to be requested. The person who is ‘graduating’ from this location must be quite shrewd and capable to be able to bring out something like this.”

“I see…” Long Di nodded. He was a bit expectant of the type of treasures that would be revealed this time around.

“Esteemed guests,” Huli Ruo addressed everyone. “Due to the high value of the next few items being auctioned, we have to inform you that the currency will be changed from silver and gold… to spirit stones.”

  ‘EH!’

When these words dropped, many in the audience were stifled to no end. A spirit stone was not something that one could easily grab hold of! This was something that was held in the hands of true cultivators!

If one was to make a very conservative estimate, then a single spirit stone would probably cost 100,000,000 gold coins!

Word had traveled that the auction this time around would be unusual, but they had no idea that it would be this spectacular. But if they knew, what could they do? They would still be too poor to truly partake in such an auction. The most could do was to treat this auction as an eye-opener.

However, there were many that were prepared for this and refrained from making a move since they came for this specific segment!

Long Di was glad that he came to the auction now. At first, he thought it would not have much that could truly move him, but now this might not be the case.

Huli Ruo waited for the clamour to die down before she continued, “I am sure the next few items will not disappoint a single person here.”

She swung her arm in a graceful arc, which compelled two beautiful maidens to walk on stage. Their bearing was both graceful and humbling, bringing peace to any who saw them.

They both held a silver platter and approached Huli Ruo, where, not far from her, a pedestal had risen from the stage. It was not too tall, only reaching Huli Ruo’s waist.

The two maidens placed the platter on the pedestal and removed the covering that concealed what was carried atop it, before gracefully exiting the stage.

On top, there was only a scroll. It was brown and appeared slightly dirty. However, there was an austere air that it possessed, letting others know this was not something simple.

“The next item up for bid is the earth grade martial technique, Earth Severance Saber Technique!”

Long Di’s eyes narrowed at this. He needed to attain this martial technique at all costs!
