“You’re the evil one here! Platinum Aegis!”

  ****

  Shing!

The silver colour that was predominant on him for so long shone with increasing intensity!

The silver changed in hue, becoming much brighter and more brilliant than silver any right to be.

Ripples ran across his body like a tumultuous sea. He had gone far above bronze, silver or even gold and activated the platinum aegis.

This was one of the most powerful moves of the Iron Body Forge Sect and was learnt only by a scarce few.

In truth, Er Jinshu was not yet qualified to learn this move at his cultivation, but as he was born with a di-level heaven-grade physique, many doors closed to others were open to him.

The grade of his physique allowed him to use this cultivation technique, but only for a short while.

  Boom!

He shot off like a bolt of lightning towards Untethered Monk.

When Untethered Monk felt Er Jinshu’s aura, he quickly put away his roast leg and assumed the Anjali Mudra.

  “Buddha Appears!”

His hands glowed goldenly and in the heavens above, a massive golden Buddha statue appeared!

“S-So powerful!” The experts watching in the distance couldn’t get close due to the power of the two warring titans!

The pressure radiating from the golden Buddha bore down on Er Jinshu with an enormous weight behind it.

However, Er Jinshu somehow managed to make it through the pressure and arrive right before Untethered Monk, before he unleashed a terrifying punch.

  “Platinum Road!”

His fist blazed with platinum somatic essence, causing the ground to turn into platinum and the air to take on a platinum hue.

Untethered Monk didn’t dare to underestimate Er Jinshu and activated another technique to defend himself.

  “Vajra body!”

  Boom!

His body took on a bronze glow before the punch landed on his chest, sending him flying.

  ‘Now!’

A shadow flitted past Er Jinshu and Untethered Monk.

“Untethered Monk! Behind you!” Yaomu Shou’s shriek cut through the air, reaching the monk. She was currently beset by two puppets commandeered by Jixie Wudongyuzhong, and several other experts from powerful sects wanting to keep her tied down.

Normally, they wouldn’t even think of fighting someone like Yaomu Shou, but Jixie Wudongyuzhong promised that he would take responsibility, which was promised to him by Er Jinshu. He didn’t know how Er Jinshu was able to take responsibility for this, but he wasn’t going to question it!

Untethered Monk quickly emerged from the rubble completely unharmed and when he saw Chen Jie behind him he changed his hand signs.

  “Buddha Descends!”

Space compressed, immediately stopping Chen Jie in his tracks before cracks appeared all over his body.

  “Metal’s Aggress!”

Er Jinshu shot through the air as two palms that appeared like two blazing suns smashed into the descending Buddha.

  Boom!

A powerful explosion went off, unleashing invisible blades of wind that tore up the terrain!

Chen Jie felt the pressure on him lessen and immediately took the chance to leave the range of Buddha’s Descent.

The lines on his body descended into the ground, and he sank into the ground completely.

This was a much faster mode of travel for him. The only drawback was that he was practically unable to erect any defences for himself. Of course, they had to find him first, which wasn’t the easiest thing to do. Still, he didn’t travel this way unless he had to, and as far as he saw it, he had to do so now.

Chen Jie was a unique existence with the Infernal Myriad Ground Clan. There were two kinds of Nitu demons, as many people knew. One delved into the profundities of the earth, while the other specialised in battle power and offensive capabilities.

Because of the nature of their earthen lines, these weren’t things that could be chosen. However, Chen Jie was unique in the sense that he was born with lines from both camps. This meant that he could use techniques that excelled in offensive brutality whilst also utilising techniques that delved into the dao of the earth itself.

This had never happened before and as such, his future potential was practically infinite.

No one knew what he was thinking save for his close confidantes. As of now, he sought to fulfil Full Metal Er Jinshu’s wishes and capture Long Di.

Currently, Long Di was booking it and was going as fast as his legs would allow. His eyes snapped up, and apart from a massive flying magical beast, all he could see was that there were about four jarring cracks that marred the sky.

Based on the rate they were healing, he had roughly ten, maybe fifteen minutes before the laws were fully restored.

The good thing, however, was that the exit was now in view. As long as they didn’t delay, they could still make it in time.

  Rumble!

Suddenly, the ground shook all around, nearly knocking them off balance.

They could see the ground shifting backwards as it tried to take them back.

“What’s going on!?!” Zi Yu was shocked by the strange phenomenon.

“This is the work of a nitu Demon,” Long Di surmised.

Yaomu Baiyin could only think of one existence capable of passing the blockade behind them to catch up. “This is Chen Jie’s doing! No doubt about it!”

“Where is he!?” Lu Pei asked.

He already had trouble ‌ keeping up with them before, but now this was getting ridiculous. Plus, he had already fought Chen Jie with Yaomu Baiyin before, but nothing like this was used.

“Below us probably,” Long Di advised. He still remembered when they fought Diqiu Jian from the Infernal Myriad Ground Clan across the plains.

“Everyone back off for a minute!!” Yaomu Baiyin had an idea.

Trusting her, everyone scattered from her position in all directions. Yaomu Baiyin unleashed her spiritual force, which was at the one-core martial adept level.

  Fwhoosh!

A purple flame ignited above her palm before she slammed it on the ground!

  “Explode!”

  Boom!

A muffled explosion went off that caused the ground to shake furiously. Cracks ripped up the earth as streaks of flame burst through the fissures.

  Bam!

A great deal of earth erupted before Yaomu Baiyin, revealing Chen Jie with an incensed expression.

“You!” He gritted his teeth in anger before he collapsed to a knee.

Right now, there were multiple burn marks on his body. They glowed like embers in the night from the heat generated by Yaomu Baiyin’s flame.

Several vertical lines on his body slithered up and down like snakes on his body. Few dug into the ground and pure earth energy started healing the wounds at a visible rate.

“I won’t let you!” Yaomu Baiyin rushed towards him with the flame burning in both hands.

  Boom!

In a trice, multiple hardened earth spikes jutted from the ground in an instant piercing towards Yaomu Baiyin.

The yuan demon widened her eyes in a panic. It was a trick!

He baited her into attacking him by acting like he was weak. Only when she least expected it did he launch his true killing move!

  Shu!

Out of the blue, a flame spear blasted into the spikes with a terrible force.

The shockwave forced Yaomu Baiyin and Chen Jie apart a few feet!

“Ugh!” Long Di fell to a knee as a terrifying dizziness assaulted him. A skull-cracking headache also descended upon him as well. Pain he could handle, dizziness, on the other hand, was a different case in a fight like this.

He only had a pittance of spiritual force left after his fight with the Imperial Divine Edict. To construct a flame spear powerful enough to break apart Chen Jie’s killing blow plunged his spiritual force into dangerously low levels.

Spiritual qi expenditure would bring about weakness in normal situations, but his spiritual force was connected to his consciousness. If that was completely depleted then he would go into a temporary coma.

“Long Di!” Yaomu Baiyin and the others rushed to his side.

“Why don’t you all die for me!?” Chen Jie was finally enraged and placed both his hands on the ground as the lines on his body lit up.

  “Landfa-”

  Shu!

  Boom!

Without warning, a massive shadow fell from the sky right in front of Chen Jie with a loud crash.

The blast was so strong it sent him flying with a powerful force.

“Ack!” A mouthful of blood stained his robes since the somatic essence he was driving to execute the move was interrupted at the last minute.

This caused the buildup of power to have nowhere to go save for the inside of his body.

If he didn’t react fast enough and reigned his power, that could have killed him!

He struggled to his feet to see what that was.

Long Di and the others were curious as well. As the dust receded, they could see the corpse of a giant flying magical beast. It sported yellow feathers with red highlights at the end and an orange beak.

But then… why did this magical beast feel the need to commit suicide? Did it fail at life and didn’t see a way for a comeback?

  “Argh!”

A grunt came from the body leading Long Di and the others to wonder if this thing was alive.

Eventually, a head popped out from under it.

When everyone here saw who it was their eyes widened in shock while Long Di’s brow encroached on his hairline’s territory once more.

The figure’s head swivelled all around in a bid to regain his bearings. Finally, the figure’s gaze landed on Long Di.

  “First brother!?”

  “Third brother.” Long Di nodded.

“Third brother!?” confusion swarmed Lu Pei, Zi Yu and Yaomu Baiyin.

“Savage Taitan!?” Chen Jie stood up in shock.

  “Savage Taitan?” Long Di questioned.

  “First Brother!”
