"boooooom!!!!"

Satvik saw Maurya flying several yards vertically. The blowback from the punch alone made Satvik's feet give out and he fell on his buttocks.

The Satvik with his wide eyes and open jaw looked at the person responsible for such brutality.

"ufufufu, how many times we have told you not to disclose our age before others?!" said Mayuri while her right hand was clenched in a fist and her chin rested on the back of her left hand.

Although her lips were curled upwards, it was not a smile of a happy person but that of a sadist.

Then she turned to Satvik and said, "We didn't mind at all you know, at least you know the value of our beauty. This is how all men should be" while playing with her bangs and winking at him.

'She definitely has some screw loose as well' thought Satvik.

"You are thinking something rude again, aren't you?" said Mayuri while puffing her cheeks.

'There she goes again, acting cute and all' Satvik said while shaking his head. She was making things hard for him, no pun intended.

"Bam!!!"

Maurya landed on his face first from his short flight after the punch.

Then he stood, shrugged off the dirt and grass from his chiseled body and tried to act as if nothing happened.

But his bleeding face didn't help at all. His perfectly shaped jawline had caved in due to the impact of the fist and his nose was also bleeding.

Satvik genuinely felt sorry for Maurya. He reminded him of his father. They both got clobbered by their wives anywhere and everywhere.

Satvik looked at him with pity but suddenly his wounds started to heal automatically at rapid speed. Within a few seconds there only remained a trace of blood on his face but no scrape or cut to show where that blood has come from.

'Woah! He has auto regeneration. That's an OP demigod for you' thought Satvik like a true gamer.

Auto regeneration has always been the most important skill for any person.

"Age is just a number" muttered Maurya after his wounds were healed which earned a nod from Mayuri.

"I cannot believe that you are still pressurising me, what about your daughter's opinion. I am pretty sure she will not be interested in marrying a kid" said Satvik while putting forth past defenses before resting his case.

"Heh, already valuing your other half's opinion. Some people could learn so much from you" said Mayuri while giving a side glance to his husband.

Both Satvik and Maurya rolled their eyes over.

"It's true we can't force even if we want to, what a shame. Fine we will see how your meeting goes with her when you both meet" said Mayuri with a little bit of disappointment in her voice.

'Hook, line and sinker' Satvik thought to himself and celebrated internally. At least now he has some room to breathe.

He could simply reject her when they meet in future, ' At least she won't kill me on our first meeting, right,' he thought to himself while laughing dryly.

"We'll meet again, Son in law." said Mayuri while giving a last peck on his forehead and hugging him.

"It seems people from the town are marching towards us, to save you I believe" Maurya said and just stood there while his gaze was fixed towards the town.

Satvik realised that Aisha's going to chew him alive now or he will be grounded for the rest of his life from now on. The possibility for either of these happening is very high now.

______________

Aisha and Dhruv were working in their fields. The harvest season was around the corner and the crops needed special care at their last stage.

The start of the day was slow as usual, they saw their neighbour running towards the town. It was weird because he was not being accompanied by his herd of sheep.

To Aisha this was nothing more than a bad omen. What kind of Shepard leaves his whole herd behind? When she looked at him closely she saw that her Sati was also missing.

Aisha left whatever she was doing and chased after the neighbour and Dhruv followed as well.

When they both reached town gates, the Shepard was sitting balled up while holding his legs close to his chest and blabbering something.

Aisha came next to him and enquired, "What happened? Where is my Sati?" while shaking him furiously.

The Shepard didn't look towards Aisha and muttered, "I told him to run but he wouldn't listen. They might have already been done with him by now."

"What the hell is he talking about?" asked Dhruv in full panic mode.

One of the guards replied, "Don't listen to him, he has completely lost it" while shaking his head.

The other guard then said with a sneer, "This numbskull claims he saw Peafowls as big as ginormous dragons."

"I want to try the same stuff he had. Seems like it was good hallucinogens" said one of the drunk adventures.

Everyone looked at that adventurer with pity. He had lost his whole party during one of the missions and came back as the sole survivor. But after returning back he had become depressed and earned the tag of the town's official 'Drunkard Adventurer'.

Aisha turned around and started running in the direction of the grass fields where Satvik was.

'no no no...oh god please no!' Aisha kept on muttering like a broken record while praying that nothing happens to her child.

Dhruv followed as well. When the guards saw both of them running away, one of the guard shouted, "Don't tell me you believe in what he said?"

Dhruv neither slowed down nor even gave them a single glance and followed his wife. He hoped that his neighbour had gone mad or something.

The guards sighed and two of them followed the couple as well.

Aisha was drenched in sweat and tears while making her way to the location where Satvik usually takes the cattle for grazing. Dhruv kept on asking her to slow down but she didn't heed his advice.

When they were about to reach Satvik's last known location, the group saw giant peafowls hovering in the sky.

Although it was hard to make out their exact size, it was now established that the shepherd was not wrong.

When Satvik's parents were only a few meters away they saw that two behemoths were standing a few inches away from Satvik.

The Peacock looked at the new guest and let out a deafening screech which made everyone except Aisha cover in fear.

One of the guards soiled his pants. The peacock looked quite intimidating which even got Dhruv to hold down Aisha. Dhruv got Aisha and himself to just kneel before the two behemoths to give them the respect they deserved.

"What the hell are you doing? Let me go" said Aisha to her husband furiously.

"Stop! Please don't you see in whose presence we are? These guys are from legends, one wrong step and they will wipe out the whole town" said Dhruv while sweating.

Aisha glanced at Dhruv for a single moment then turned back to look at the creatures in question and said in a voice filled with anger and sorrow, "I don't care about the town, they can go to hell. But, if something happens to sati I will..."

But before she could complete her phrase, the peahen bent her neck with her beaks open towards Satvik while making a noise similar to a growl.

Aisha's whole world came to standstill, she thought the peahen was going to gobble her child.

Aisha brushed off her husband's grip with force and closed her fist while gradually concentrating mana in it.

To a mother, her child will always remain a top priority. A child is everything for a mother and no harm will ever befall when a mother is near. Even though Aisha graduated a bit late into motherhood this trait came naturally.

Aisha was not Satvik's birth mother, but even if Gods came for her child she wouldn't hesitate for a single moment before engaging them head-on.

Even if she had to sacrifice the whole world for the life of her child she would happily do it because that's what motherhood is.

The she opened her palm while aiming at the peahen and muttered simple spell incantation.

"Water-shot!"

A ball of water appeared out of thin air and started zooming towards the Peahen.
