A sneer appeared on Jayanti's face while she stood In front mother and son duo.
Jayanti's hand moved toward Satvik to grab him but before she could do that, Aisha pushed her child away.
"Don't you lay your hands on my child, b**ch!"
"Water shot" exclaimed Aisha with anger while using her water magic spell.
The spell was made direct contact but due to level difference, she could only graze the dress of Jayanti.
Jayanti looked at her dress and her anger flared up. She grabbed Aisha by her hair and said in anger, "You have been testing my patience from the beginning. But now you've ruined a gift that my husband brought on our last date."
"How are you going to pay for that? Should I kill you first or should kill your husband and skin your child alive in front of you?"
"Go ahead and choose!"
Aisha was screaming in pain and within a few seconds she passed out.
'How pathetic! I didn't even do anything and she already passed out' Jayanti thought and let go of Aisha. Aisha's body fell similarly to a puppet whose strings have been cut.
Kroud had already dealt with Satvik's neighbor by then.
When Satvik saw his mother pass out, all the thought processes came to halt and something snapped inside his mind.
"What did you do to my mother?" he roared in anger with teary eyes.
And soon after his roar, a loud screech was heard. When Jayanti and Kroud looked in the sky, they saw a huge bird coming in their way.
Their mounts also started panicking. After seeing her dragon panicking, Jayanti concluded that only one existence can make her dragon shiver like that.
'Demigod' Jayanti thought. Her dragon was only a couple of levels away from reaching the ranks of demigod. But if a single bird can make her mount shiver, she would absolutely like to avoid it.
The dragon has been her companion for a long time, saving her life countless times. So she could put her trust in her mount that they were no match for the new enemy approaching.
She turned around and started to walk away and said, "I guess we were wrong, False Gods would never have sent such weakling."
"You are hundred times weaker than the other one's they had sent earlier."
Satvik who was now trying to wake Aisha up looked at Jayanti. His hate for this woman had crossed leaps and bounds.
He unconsciously and in anger concentrated all his mana in his eyes. His veins within his eyes started bleeding while he grinded his teeth in anger.
The last time he felt so helpless was when he got to know that his parents had died in an accident, in his previous life.
Slowly his skill, which only showed him aura and presence of mana changed and in his vision over Jayanti's head another thing popped up.
"Jayanti Nastik Adrami" Satvik yelled.
Jayanti's footsteps came to halt. Nowadays no one ever calls her by her full name.
They either call her just 'Priestess' or 'Jayanti the diligent'.
She turned and looked at the kid who was glaring with so much hate that even made her skin crawl.
"I will remember what you did today and I hope you do too, especially the options you gave to mother today."
"By the next time we meet, I would have already skinned your child alive with my bare hands," he said while pointing at her.
Jayanti's expression turned ugly. There's not a mother in the entire world who would like another person to threaten their child like that.
She said those words just to piss off Aisha and get back to her, but now this was something she wouldn't take lightly.
"My lady, we should leave. Those damn birds are almost here. Just ignore this bumpkin. There's no way such a lowborn can defeat your son." said Kroud while his eyes were casted downwards.
Jayanti nodded and then a sneer appeared on her face.
She flicked her fingers and a small fireball zoomed towards Satvik.
The fire ball engulfed Satvik left arm below his elbow, which he had raised while pointing at her.
Then with smug expression she asked, "Which HANDS?"
Satvik expression never changed and he continued where he left of, "I swear upon my mother's name, that you will find out about that in the future."
Now Jayanti's expression turned sour but before she could do anything her mount had scooped her up and flew away.
Within seconds the left a peafowl landed next to Satvik's group. Satvik didn't paid any attention to the behemoth.
He started to caress his mother's head gently which was now on his lap while he was sitting down.
'Sheesh! With what kind of luck were you born' Satvik heard a melodious voice inside his mind telepathically, that he knew very well.
It was Mayuri, his self-proclaimed mother-in-law.
Mayuri transformed into her humanoid form and started walking toward him and said with a laugh, "to meet such people at a young age. We think lady luck is your true enemy."
Satvik didn't give her any reply.
When she reached next to Satvik, her laugh was replaced by anger when she saw that Satvik's left arm below his elbow was missing.
"Did they do this to you?" she questioned in a hushed voice.
Satvik nodded with tears in his eyes, not due to the pain of losing a limb but rather, due to fear for his mother's health.
Mayuri turned around and looked in the direction where the culprits for injuring his Son in Law were fleeing.
'This is unacceptable' she thought and prepared to chase after them. But before she could even move an inch a hand grabbed her feet.
"Although my grandfather told me to never beg anyone and always hold my head high."
"Please! save my family I beg you, your majesty. I've already lost my parents once or is it twice now."
"I don't want to lose them anymore, please" Satvik had already planted his head on her feet while tears were running down his cheeks.
Mayuri crouched and picked him and hugged him and then whipped his tears and said with a gentle smile, "Stupid! you don't have to beg your mother for anything. We will save them obviously."
"But before that, we won't the culprits who had done this to our cutie pie leave unscathed."
She then looked in the direction of Jayanti and her group. They have already flown several kilometers away. But Mayuri was a demigod for no reason she was able to see them and they were still within effective range for her to give them a farewell gift.
Then she concentrated mana in her fist and took a punching stance and punched the air with her full might.
A bright blinding light similar to that of a laser emerged from her fist and went towards the group.
Jayanti's mount rolled over in mid-air and covered her rider with her wings and tail.

The mana-laser cleaved off the tail and one of the wings was carved in half. But the dragon was able to save her rider from imminent death.
The wyvern held the dragon within its talons preventing it from falling out of the sky and somehow they were able to escape.
"Tch! they got away. We are losing our edge" muttered Mayuri and went back to Satvik.
She scooped him like a mother carrying a child in her arms and cast several healing spells on his parents and his neighbor.
She then looked at Satvik's arm and with a sad expression said, "We are ashamed but we don't know any spell to regenerate limbs that were completely destroyed."
The bleeding was already cauterized by the flame spell itself and with the healing spell from Mayuri, all the burnt wounds were gone as well.
"It's fine, this will be my wake-up call. That I can't waver from my path or lose my focus" he said with a smile while looking at his missing limb.
God works in mysterious ways. When he was about to falter this happened.
'I guess this was their way of reminding me that I shouldn't waver off from my path. The mission that was given to me must be my priority. Otherwise, people in this world will be left at the mercy of psychopaths similar to that woman' Satvik thought.
Then he looked at her and said, "Will my parents be alright, especially my mother? I don't know what that b**** did to her."
He looked at her with pleading eyes.
"Yes, they will be fine. Give them a few minutes and your father and that guy will wake up" she said while caressing his head.
"And about your mother, we don't how to say this. There's some good news, or not. We are not sure" she said with a gentle smile that was dazzling enough to remove the clouds of sorrow.
"What good news?" said Satvik.
"You just got promoted, big brother," said Mayuri
"What?" Satvik looked at her in surprise. Well, it was not that something like this was impossible. But the timing of things can be untimely.
"By the way, your real name is not 'Mayuri' majesty am I right, your majesty?" questioned Satvik.
"What?!" this time Mayuri looked at him in surprise.
