Lance shot up in bed to find his father, Aleena and Shiro there, but also someone he nearly forgotten stepping out of the shadows with a smile on their face. Lance couldn't stop staring at them as they walked around to the front of where the bed lay before stopping near the bed frame.
"Sorry, Vance I have been busy lately." Keres giggled.
The face seemed familiar to Lance and yet he didn't quite remember it yet, though he was sure that was because the last time he'd seen it had been when he was still young and small. He could barely recall it himself now so why did he suddenly think about remembering something so long ago?
"No worries, were just congratulating, Lance here since he passed the second round." Vance roared in laughter.
Then it hit Lance where he remembered the face hitting him like a nightmare come true. This was Keres who had tried to kill him when he was Ellis. It felt like a lifetime ago yet he still thought about it all the time. His eyes were wide open as his mind tried to process everything.
"What happened?" Was all Lance could say as a look of utter terror crossed his face.
"I said congratulations...I expect that of the Crimson Crows son." Keres stated.
The television above them popped on showing buildings being toppled over and smoke ascending to the sky as people screamed and ran for shelter or hid behind vehicles to escape the destruction. He watched helplessly as he saw buildings being destroyed by flames while he watched others run, screaming in fear as they ran from their homes.
His eyes locked onto another house on fire with the same thing playing out over its roof as well. Lance recalled quickly why he was brought back to stop this from happening to stop these people from their destruction.
Keres laughed once more causing him to snap back into reality as he looked over at her confused.
He watched as the super villain named Halo could be seen in a full feathery suit of white, a large golden halo above her head and surrounded her hands as she fought someone else who seemed to be in a similar situation to him except he was wearing red instead of white and was covered in burns.
Lance watched as the villain was sent flying by a jet of orange fire shooting through the air. When he finally landed she stood up only to fall to her knees crying as someone ran to help her up only for Halo to get to her feet and knock the superhero unconscious.
Halo turned her head and stared straight at him causing him to gasp before she smiled at the reporter holding tight to their equipment.
Everyone in the room watched in awe and excitement watching Halo smash the camera into smithereens before looking away when her face appeared again.
It took Lance longer than normal to realize that it was over and even after the screen fizzled out completely he didn't move. He was shocked the superhero was defeated so easily.
Lance jumped at the sound of a door slamming closed and turned to watch everyone begin talking amongst themselves. As he watched a few people went outside before one came back inside.
"Halo sure is a damn show off today!" Keres snickered.
"She always makes the charts with how willing she is willing to flaunt it." Vance cackled.
Shiro gave Lance a look before turning his head to the side. After a minute Lance began moving again not really knowing what to do with himself. He wanted to get up from the bed when his father stopped him.
“No you need to rest for the last test tomorrow is going to need all of your strength.”

Vance sighed as he sat next to his bed rubbing his temples. “Just don’t worry I’ll make sure Shiro are taking good care of you alright? Me, Keres, and Aleena have things to do.”
Lance didn’t know what to say so he simply nodded. Aleena bent down to kiss Shiro making the kid turn red. Lance wasn’t sure what to make of anything anymore besides those pictures of Halo destroying those cities.
"Be good my little, Shiro..." She winked.
Shiro flushed more and shook his head trying to hide his embarrassment. Lance knew he couldn’t help but laugh which caused Aleena to give him a playful glare.
After a moment she turned to Vance who was watching them curiously. "You are much too nice to him." She scolded lightly nudging his side playfully.
"He is my little, my little, little boy..." Vance mimicked.
"...You're just jealous of my attention because he's mine, isn't he?" She smirked.
Aleena gasped dramatically. “What?! Are you jealous of my attention?! Why!” she shrieked.
Vance merely chuckled in response. Once both of them calmed down they moved to leave. Before Aleena left she hugged him tightly saying something along the lines of 'we love you' which made Lance mad inside.
The door slammed behind them leaving him with Shiro in the end of the bed. Lance could feel his stomach growl and noticed how late it was getting. He looked around the room only to see two things sitting on his nightstand.
"Would you like me to get you something?" Shiro asked.
"Sure, that would be amazing." Lance said happily.
"Is there anything in particular you would like?" He questioned.
"Not really, but are you dating Aleena?" Lance asked.
Shiro blushed slightly and shook his head. "Lance...who do you think I am?" He pondered.
Lance shrugged in reply feeling embarrassed for asking. Shiro chuckled before walking over to him.
"You really are a kid still, but you want to become a hero don't you?" Shiro cross-examined.
"Yeah, but what about you, Shiro, you were one wasn’t you?" Lance replied.
Shiro smiled. "Of course, but sometimes...people can do good things and have to pay for it...I will be back just rest for now."
