After leaving the room, I walked over to where I had sat down to resume my seat. The fight that was going on was the last, so after this fight, the mentors selected their apprentices. I wonder who my mentor will be and what his specialty will be. The match was boring. The participants only used the basic shapes we were taught. The fight will last a few more minutes before Leonidas declares the battle is over.
"Now that all the fights are over, we are waiting for the novices to come out of the infirmary before the mentors announce that they are taking on as apprentices," Leonidas said.
We waited about ten minutes before all the novices in the infirmary returned. Desmond sat to my right and waited for the other novices to come. Finally, when all the novices were present, we formed a line in front of Leonidas and the mentors.
"Perfect, now that the test is over, the mentors are having their apprentices chosen," Leonidas announced.
"Airi, I will be your mentor." said an otherwise wise old man. The man wore a loose robe that looked like a Jedi robe. He wore a sword under his robe.
"Zorr, follow me," blurted out a manly, caramel-skinned woman with dragon skin clothing and a scar on her toned stomach that didn't spoil her beauty.
Other mentors chose their apprentices. Only four novices were left: Desmond, Treize, Robin, and Saibus.
"The novices who remain will not become apprentices today. Wait until the other mentors return to become your mentors. Saibus and Desmond were staying." proclaimed Leonidas.
Hearing Leonidas, Desmond, and Saibus exchange a surprised look. The other two novices walked out of the room a little disappointed but recovered quickly, knowing that pressing mentors didn't take them as apprentices because they didn't match their styles or personalities.
Saibus and Desmond were, on the other hand, intrigued. They wondered why they had not received mentors and why Leonidas asked them to stay. Maybe the two things were related.
"Good, you wonder why you are still here," asked Leonidas. Saibus and Desmond nodded in response.
"The reason is simple, you both already have mentors who want you to become their apprentices," Leonidas said. The two novices, or rather apprentices, were surprised at the news.

"But how can we already have mentors if the mentors weren't there for the test to know our abilities?" Desmond asked.
Leonidas smiles before answering this question, "Simple. Your mentors already know your abilities. So how can you be sure that your mentors are not present."
The two apprentices raised their eyebrows at Leonidas' statement.
"Your mentor Saibus is on a mission and will be back in a week. As for you, Desmond, I am your mentor." Leonidas announced.
Desmond was surprised before greeting his mentor, "The apprentice greets the mentor." Leonidas shook his head, "No need to be so courteous to me. I am your mentor, not your ancestor or your God."
"Finally, everything is said. Desmond follows me. Saibus, your mentor, will come to see you when he arrives," said Leonidas. Desmond followed his mentor as Saibus entered his room.
Saibus entered his room. His room has not changed much in recent years. A small library can be seen next to its bed with books opening up several topics like history, languages, geography, and other subjects. Saibus walked to the side of his room where his gate was. Saibus positioned himself in front before whispering, "blath bloed." The portal lights up. Saibus crossed the portal to find himself in his laboratory.
Saibus's lab has changed a lot compared to his bedroom. The first thing you notice is its size. If before the laboratory consisted of a simple small room, now the laboratory looked like an apartment with several rooms. Each area that Saibus studied had its room. For example, Saibus had a room which was his potions room to the north. This room was next to his alchemy room. To the south was his magic room, where he practiced all types of magic that he found interesting. To the east was the craft room, where Saibus practiced blacksmithing, tailoring, and other non-magical or alchemical things. To the west was the room where Saibus studied the science of this world, of course, with the means of his time. Finally, at the center of his laboratory is his study room, his library. This room is where Saibus studied all subjects that did not deal with magic or alchemy.
(AN: Imagine a cross with a magic pole, an alchemy pole, another scientist and the last craftsman, and the center of the study room.)
After entering his laboratory, Saibus went to his library and picked up books on the magic of space. On the side of the book, it read: "The magic of space between teleportation and pocket space." With his book in hand, Saibus headed for his magic room to practice his long-distance teleportation. He stayed in this room until the spell worked on his space magic.
