Chapter 20: Alchimy

Saibus is in the alchemy room. He is sitting on the floor in front of a drawing. The design is dark red, almost black. A picture is very complex and unlike anything that has been, can, and will be done in this world. In the world of The Witcher, alchemy is the making of potions, bombs, or materials from components. But what Saibus is undertaking is unimaginable for all magicians and alchemists. No, this is unimaginable for all living beings in this world, whether they come from this plane or the plane of the elves.

The dark red design on the floor looks like a Fullmetal Alchemist transmutation circle. (AN: I integrate the alchemy of FMA to complement that of The Witcher.) Saibus succeeded in creating with the magic of this world a circle of transmutation of FMA. But, of course, the laws of this world and Fullmetal Alchemist are different, so the requirements and purpose of the Transmutation Circle are additional. The law of equivalent exchange is the most critical requirement for doing alchemy in FMA. You cannot transmute a thing and give nothing in return. The most glaring proof is the human transmutation that Edward and Alphonse did when they were children.

This law is also present, but it becomes useless when you sacrifice your magic instead of a part of your body. Significantly your magic regenerates as fast as that of Saibus. However, he cannot use it in combat. He tried to put his transmutation circle on a glove-like Mustang, but it didn't work. It seems like to tone down the law of fair trade. So he can't use it in combat. Saibus thinks it's a good compromise because he doesn't need it in a fight.

Saibus transmutation circle is made from ink and his blood hence the dark red color. The transmutation circle is two circles, one inside the other with ancient language scriptures. Inside the second circle, there is the symbol of the Triforce. In the center of the inverted triangle, there is a Templar cross. On the top two sides of the triangle, there is a semicircle in the opposite direction of the central circles. Inside the left semicircle, Elvish scriptures appear, while in the right semicircle, human scriptures appear.

Saibus placed several elements in the center of the circle. First, there was a piece of flesh. You couldn't tell if it was animal or human. At the high end of the Triforce, there are Griffin talons. At the left end of the Triforce is a dragon scale. At the right end of the Triforce, there is a small rune of wind and light. Saibus took a knife and cut his right hand. He dropped a few drops of his blood into a silver chalice in the center of the transmutation circle. He incited everything, so channeling his magic in the transmutation circle.

"I, Saibus Di Vine, son of Altaïr and Elana"

"Magician and Alchemist"

"I ask for the permission of the world."

"Transmute its materials in exchange for my magic."

"Grant me a familiar."

"Bind by blood and soul."

"I, Saibus Di Vine, I summon you."

The transmutation circle began to glow, giving off a golden and white light. The materials in the process have come together to form an adult-basking eagle. Its coat is brown with touches of black. After the eagle's formation, the light dimmed until it faded, and Saibus stopped providing magic. On the transmutation circle, only the eagle remains. Seeing Saibus, the eagle stepped forward and rubbed its beak on his severed hand. By rubbing its beak on the wound, its beak emitted light which went towards the damage and closed in contact with it. Saibus smiled and stroked the eagle to thank him.

"What am I going to call you, my friend? Blackie, Nero, Edward? No, I have a bad sense of naming. Regiis, yes, a good name for you."  Hearing his name Regiis chuckled to face content with his name.

"So, Regiis, what are you?"  Saibus asked.

"Kyak. Kyak kyak, kyak kyak kyak" yelped Regiis.

"So you are a golden eagle child who can use the magic of wind and light. You are resistant to physical and magical damage, and your abilities will grow as you grow. You are amazing."  Saibus said.

"Kyak," Regiis yelped, bulging his chest.

Saibus smiled at Regiis' behavior and walked out of his lab with him. Saibus and Regiis meet in Saibus's room. Saibus stretched out on his bed while Regiis leaned on the head of the bed.

"I need to find you a place to sleep. Do you have any ideas?"  Saibus questions.

"Kyak kyak kyak, kyak."  Regiis replied.

"You don't help me there, how I find you a place high up. Besides, I don't think the pet store will suit you."  Saibus said.

"Kyak," yelped Regiis.

"If I create a nest in a closed place, but high as a mountain will suit you, your serene Royal?"  Saibus asked.

In response, Regiis flicked his wings to send the wind towards Saibus and looked away with a cry.

"I'm kidding, but it looks like you like the idea,"  Saibus said.

Saibus got up after he had finished speaking and walked towards the door. He left his room and headed for the Hall of Duty. After entering the Hall, Saibus walked to one of the Quest's rooms. He made a young receptionist with a large register in front of her. She talked to an assassin who was due to return from a mission because she gave him five crowns. Unfortunately, the killer left after taking his peaks. He greeted the hostess and Saibus as he walked past him, and Saibus returned it to him.

Saibus approached the hostess, "How are you, Cindy?"

"Hello Saibus, I'm fine even though I'm a little bored. How about you?"  Cindy replied.

"Well, thank you, I would like to know if there is still no news from my mentor,"  Saibus said.

"No, sorry, but given the strength of your mentor, he cannot be dead in the mission he took on. So either he found a problem along the way that he had to solve, or he took too much of his time. Time to undertake the mission. "

Saibus sighed, thanked Cindy, and left to return to her room. In front of her bedroom door is a person wearing a long hooded coat that hides her figure and face.

"Can I help you?"  Saibus asked with a bit of suspicion in his eyes. It is the first time he has arrived here that someone is in front of his door, especially when he is waiting for him.

The person turned to him when he heard her voice.

"Yes, Saibus, I just came back from my mission and am coming to make you my apprentice."
