Chapter 34: Assembly

Six months went by very quickly at the Wolf School. Much has happened during this period. Research on traitors has borne fruit. Several traitors have been identified as Raif, an Archmage, Naiz, an Alchemist, and other little magicians or apprentice magicians. In total, around ten traitors have been identified in the school. But this is good news because all the traitors have been identified. To the great ladies of Ronan, no action has been taken against them.

Instead, several plans were issued and followed by our assassins. After identifying the traitors, the assassins monitored them 24/7. They analyzed their habits, their strengths, their weaknesses, their hobbies, and their dislikes. They've gathered as much evidence as possible on them, but other than a few things that don't help them thwart the invasion, they haven't discovered anything.

But that may change tonight. Tonight the traitors are scheduled to assemble and talk about the final details of the killing. Magicians are strong but far too arrogant and have not monitored their communications with magic.

This is how Regiis could spy on them by hiding around the places of their occasional nocturnal meetings outside the bastions.

The moon is high in the sky. It illuminates the world with its soft white light. The magicians nod their heads at Raif's statement.

"It may work, but we cannot command them. Under what pretexts can we tell them to go on a mission? We have no authority over them. They only answer to the League, and the League is very secretive.  . We cannot infiltrate them. "

The magicians teleport to their rooms, leaving Raif alone on his stump in front of the fire. Raif relaxes on his stump and watches the embers and flames of the fire dance. Raif remains there to watch the flames in the silence of the night, interrupted intermittently by the cry of the nocturnal animals which go hunting.

"Crack," Raif heard a noise that broke the forest's silence and made him come out of his thoughts. The noise comes from a branch that breaks under the weight of a fox passing by.

Raif looks around and notices a barn owl standing on a thick branch.

"Hou Hou," The owl hoots, nodding. She turns her head towards Raif and stares at him with her head turned 90 ° and her big black eyes. The two look at each other for a few moments.

"Hou hou hou" The owl takes flight and hoots.

Raif watches the owl take flight and fly through the starry sky.

He turns his head and looks at the full moon that lights his surroundings. His face loses its serious expression and leaves only one older adult sad and alone. Her eyes show great sadness.

"Soon, my love, soon your murderer will be dead, and all his fellows will go to hell with him for what he did to you,"  Raif whispers in the wind, ending his sentence with pure anger.
