A roar echoes in the mountain range. Following this cry, other less mighty roars echoed through the mountain.

With these cries, four wyverns appear from the sky and attack the team of scouts.

A wyvern rushes straight on Lexandre, who dodges on the right. Although the wing of the Wyvern wounds him, the latter continues towards the witchers of the Wolf, Desmond, and Zoltan. Its charge knocks down rocks and trees, destroying the passage.

The second attack is on the group's rear, including Maran, Moran, and Saibus. At the same time, the last Wyvern attacks Zeran with her paws and tries to grab her, but the latter resists and slices a tight one off her before she flies away.

The now separated group must face three Wyverns.

Saibus, Moran, and Maran face a particularly aggressive wyvern.

"Moran, Maran, keep covering me with your crossbows. Try aiming at his eyes or his wings."  Saibus declares before running towards the Wyvern.

"Including."  Moran and Maran arm their crossbows with a small wooden box that contains five crossbow bolts.

The Wyvern tries to bite Saibus, but he dodges, stepping aside and slicing part of his jaw off. Blood and flesh fall to the ground amid the cries of pain from their owners. Not letting the monster rest, two tiles split the air and lodge in its side. The Wyvern gave another roar and swayed a bit, allowing Saibus to finish her off by slitting her mouth horizontally up to her neck.

The Wyvern falls to the ground, lifeless, but Saibus cuts her neck.

"Why are you cutting off his head?"  Moran asks.

"I'd rather be sure she's dead and can't be magically revived. We don't know if this wave of wyverns is due to the presence of a more powerful monster or human interference. "  Saibus replied.

"We can talk later. Let's help the others. Saibus, Maran, and Moran then run to Zeran to help him against the Wyvern.

Vesemir, Geralt, and Desmond are confronted with a wyvern. Unfortunately, Lexandre is out of action because of his stomach injury.

The Wyvern bites Vesemir, but an orange energy shield protects the latter. In addition, the shield blocks the Wyvern's lower and upper jaw.

"I hold him with Quenn, take the opportunity to attack him but quickly because I will not last long,"  Vesemir says urgently in his voice.

Desmond, Geralt, and Zoltan rush towards the Wyvern blocked by Vesemir. They pass by and others of Vesemir and attack the Wyvern from two different sides. The Wyvern, seeing Desmond and Geralt attacking him from the right and the left, as well as Zoltan from behind, abandons Vesemir and flaps its wings strongly. Its wing-flapping creates squalls destabilizing the assassin, the witcher, and the dwarf. Finally, Vesemir withdrew, and Desmond, with Geralt, did the same. Zoltan stepped back next to his brothers in arms.

The Wyvern is always so happy to make the witcher, the assassin, and the dwarf his lunch regains the initiative. She runs towards them and throws her claws forward, hoping to impale a witcher or assassin with them.

Desmond and Zoltan dodge while Geralt and Vesemir throw the Quenn sign, creating an orange shield around them. The protection is much more potent than the one previously made by Vesemir as the impact of the claws on the guard repels the Wyvern. The shield shows no signs of cracking. The wyvern hounds on the security, and Desmond takes advantage of the winged creature's obsession with the witcher to attack it in the back. He throws his spear at the face of the Wyvern.

The spear slices through the air and sinks into the monster's right eye. She utters a loud resounding cry that the witchers and Desmond are forced to protect their ears. With the spear still in his right eye, the Wyvern rushes in the direction of Desmond, who now wants to kill him at all costs. Desmond runs and dodges the Wyvern's attacks. The Wolf Witchers and Zoltan help Desmond without succeeding due to Desmond's race and the winged creature.

The Wyvern's race eventually halted after chopping down two trees due to its shock damage. The Wyvern, already seriously injured by Desmond's spear, is now sounded, leaving it to Vesemir and Geralt to kill him. Vesemir stabs his silver sword in his heart as Geralt cuts his throat. The Wyvern collapses to the inert ground. Desmond returns to his friends. He climbs on the creature's face and tears off his spear. Blood spurts out of its action, and optic nerves emerge from the now-empty Wyvern's orbit. Saibus takes his eye off his spear and turns to his colleagues.

"How are you?"  asks Vesemir.

"No injuries, and you?"  Desmond answers.

"We are well."  Geralt says.

"Alright, let's go help the others,"  Vesemir said eagerly.

Zeran is on the ground, dodging and trying to knock down the Wyvern attacking him from the air. Although he gave him many cuts, none of them are significant enough to force the draconid to land.

From the beginning, a fight of endurance between the draconid and the witcher.

Suddenly, a shrill sound echoed across the battlefield between the Wyvern and the griffin. As the sound got closer, it transformed into a howl, the howl of the Wyvern. Then, a cry was produced by two crossbow bolts piercing the monster's belly. The latter, in pain, collapses to the ground at the mercy of the witcher, who finishes him off without delay.

Once the creature is dead, Zeran turns around and sees Saibus, Moran, and Maran running toward him.

"Thanks for the help. I owe you one."  Zeran thanks the dwarves.

"It's okay. We're a team. If we don't help each other, we are dead."  Moran retorts. Maran and Saibus support the dwarf's words.

The four go to the rest of the team. They meet on the rest of the road. After a few seconds of contentment, they finally noticed the absence of Lexandre. So they go in his direction. They approach him and see him sitting in the snow, with his right hand on his left abdomen.

"Lexander, let me help you heal your wound."  Saibus walks up to Lexandre and crouches beside him, ready to heal his wound.

"No, leave me alone. I can do it on my own."  Lexandre strikes Saibus's hand with hatred. His face is contorted with anger.

"I don't need anyone to do this mission, especially not you, Mr. Assassin, Mr. Perfect. Mr. Magic and Combat."  Lexandre spits insults at Saibis and begins to heal himself.

Saibus then withdraws and leaves Lexandre to his fate. The other group members want to say a few things, but Saibus prevents them from doing so.

He speaks loudly enough for the group to listen but not Lexandre.

"Leave him. There's no point in talking with him. He's crazy. On the other hand, we have to keep an eye on him so that he doesn't stab us in the back. You never know what is. A fool like him can do. "

The members say nothing and watch Lexandre heal his wound.

Meanwhile, one thing calls out to Zoltan.

"Guys, there is one thing that bothers me,"  Zoltan says.

"What ?"  question the rest.

"At the start of the fight, you saw four wyverns like me, didn't you? But we only faced three. So where's the last."  Zoltan asks the question, which silences the group. A silence that was broken by Lexandre's cry.

All turn in his direction to see him in the paws of a royal wyvern flying towards the top of the mountain.

They try to stop him, but the Wyvern is too far away for Saibus's bolts or magic to reach him.

"You have your answer Zoltan,"  Saibus said darkly.
