Chapter 67: Cintra

2 Imbolc 1206

It has been a year since Isabella came into this world and lives in the mountains of Faroe. She has a good relationship with Saibus and Yennefer, who often share with her and drop by to see her. She has not often left her castle. The latter is currently drinking and talking with Yennefer in her living room.

"So, Yennefer, how are you finding your position on the Council of the Brotherhood of Magic?" Isabella asks, pouring herself a glass of red wine. She also serves Yennefer's goblet.

Yennefer twirls her wine glass and watches the red wine flow through her glass. She looks at the blood-colored liquid before taking a sip.

"I am in a high position, as you know. I am part of the Council of Magicians, the second chamber of the Brotherhood of Magicians just below the Chapter. Still, we have a certain degree of power within the Brotherhood." Yennefer without joy.

"It's good, and you're influential, so why am I face without joy?" Isabella asks, sipping her glass of wine happily.

"It doesn't enchant me as much as it used to." declares Yennefer with boredom.

"How so? You don't like having influence anymore?" Isabella asks, pouring herself a new glass.

"No, I still like to have influence but sitting on the Council and somehow influencing the Brotherhood no longer interests me. I feel like I still have to obey the Chapter and not be able to do what I wish." Yennefer answers, finish her drink and help herself again.

"In that case, why don't you leave the Brotherhood? You will therefore be on your own, and you will not suffer any reprisals because of Saibus and the Order." asks the vampire while drinking blood liquid.

"I am not leaving the Order for two more reasons. The first reason is that I have several friends within the Brotherhood, and leaving the latter can put me at odds with them. But the main reason is that I do not want to count all the time on Saibus. I want to be strong and influential so that we can live undisturbed, me as a magician and a master assassin." declares Yennefer before finishing her glass of wine.

"So I'm staying with the Brotherhood for the time being until I have enough influence and power to tell them to go fuck with griffins." Yennefer said, looking at Isabella.

"Fine, fine, as long as you know what you're doing."

The two friends continue their discussions around one or more bottles of wine.

"By the way, speaking of him, where is Saibus? Wasn't he supposed to come with you?" Isabella asks.

"He is currently with his uncle on a mission.

In the streets of the capital of Cintra, two men in everyday clothes are walking through the streets. The two discuss each other's business and each other's problems. They talk about the profits of the forge and the issues an apothecary encounters. They end up going to an inn that is already full of people. The atmosphere is festive, and songs and laughter echo inside the walls. People fight at the back of the tavern for a few crowns; men grope the servers who serve them. The small troupe of bards makes some sing and flirt with others.

The two men move towards an empty table and sit down. A waitress then approaches them. The waitress has long red hair and amber eyes. She's wearing the hostel outfit that shows off those curves.

"What would you like to eat and drink?" asks the waitress, looking at the younger man with a sultry smile.

"What is the dish of the day?" he asks.

"It's lentil with pork sausages." answers the waitress

"I'm having a daily special then and a pitcher of mead." said the first man

"I want to eat a bacon soup and a pitcher of white wine." declares the second.

The waitress leaves, and the men resume their conversations.

"So, uncle, what businesses can we achieve in the city."

"We have a choice Saibus. We can open a plant shop and become an apothecary or use our skills as blacksmith and mage runes to create weapons and armor. We can also do this simply with magic, in the shadows and full of other things. We can let our imagination run wild." Ezio says with a smirk.

"Perfect. Do we need to pay attention to anything in particular?"

"Hm, no more than the usual bandits who attack travelers and merchants."

"But let's not talk about that too much. Let's talk about the mess sooner."

Saibus rolls his eyes.

"Don't be shy. Nobody hears us. Everyone talks and discusses and doesn't hear what we say."

The waitress then arrives with the dishes and puts them down, winking at Saibus and leaving, swaying her hips.

"No, I won't go to the brothel. I already have a woman that I love and appreciate."

"Ah yes, that Jenna. You should have a little fun. You won't be young forever.

"Yes, young like you with Trinity." Ezio spits out the wine he was drinking and starts coughing.

"I'll point out to you, cheeky little one, that I'm still young and handsome. But we're not talking about me. Look instead at that pretty waitress who served us. Look how plump she is. Look at her big jugs and soft buttocks.

Saibus looks at the waitress, who also looks at her and gives her a sultry smile before continuing to serve the customers.

"No, I won't cheat on her."

"Well, do as you wish, not after I go to the brothel."

Ezio and Saibus eat their meals while chatting. Then, they listen to the troupe's songs, admire the dance before paying for their drinks and leave, much to the dismay of the waitress.

The uncle and the nephew walk through the dark and dirty streets of the city. They don't see many people, a few guards on patrol, and one or two prostitutes.

The two arrive in the noble district of the city. The aristocratic quarter is completely deserted. No one moves on this moonless night. Finally, they reach a point where the path splits in two and do the same. Saibus goes right while Ezio takes the left way.

Saibus POV

I have been walking for about five minutes after leaving my uncle when I arrive in front of a beautiful, noble house. I knock on the door, and it opens. I walk in, and the door closes behind me. I leave the entrance and enter a living room where a woman sits.

The woman has long blonde hair and tanned skin. Her ocean blue eyes can hypnotize many men. She wears black pants, high black leather boots, a white shirt with red designs, and a pointed black corset.

"So it worked?" she asks.

"No, other than a waitress's invitation and my uncle's comments about my relationship and the fact that I should poach. Mission failed."

"I told you it wouldn't work; otherwise, we wouldn't have called the Elders for backup. And you can only blame yourself for accepting this conversion."

"Yes, but it was my uncle's idea, and Helene had to be tried." Saibus sighs, taking a seat.

"If you're all alone, does that mean the bag of bones went to the brothel?" Helen asks.

Saibus nods to indicate that Helen's statement is correct.

"He thinks he can find information there by bribing the prostitutes. He's already spent a good amount of money and got no information. He's just going to end up getting fleeced." Helene said, having a blatant disregard for Ezio's conduct.

"What can I do? He doesn't listen to anyone. He's always been like that, but you can't deny that he's a very good spymaster and only stays there for about ten minutes at most. He can't get that much money out of him." Saibus retorts are defending his uncle.

"Yes, you-"

Hélène didn't have time to finish when knocks sounded at the door. Following the blows, the door opens, and Ezio arrives in the living room with a big smile.

"Call everyone. I have information for the continuation of the mission."
