Chapter 3: 2.1 Rebirth

The day finally arrived. It was time for the game official launch. After the anticipation and the waiting the new game Cord of Rebirth was final available for everyone to play. The few beta testers confirm that the game was much smoother but also harsh then the previous one. The experience gain was much slower compared to the previous games but a few additional features were added making the game much more realistic such as custom move sets.

Laying down in the pod, Owen was uncomfortable. The act felt foreign to him as well as exciting looking forward to the prospect of a new adventure. That to his growth in the previous game, he was confident he could rise again even if the game was a bit pay to win, which somehow made Owen smile a bit. As he logged in, he was faced with a similar character screen that he once came accross almost five years ago, but the difference being instead of Aloshi, this time, it was a beautiful girl greeting him.

"Welcome to Cord of Rebirth, travelling soul. To enter the plain of the leaving, you have to create a ..."

A splitting headache ripped his brain as the girl immediately stopped talking and became alarmed as a puff of smoke came out of Owen's mouth taking the form of a human.

Aloshi reappeared in front of his eyes as Owen finally felt the pain subside.

"Who are..." The girl immediately quietened down as the two AI met face to face. "You... Me... Oh!"

A strange conversation happened in front of Owen as he tried to make sense of what was going on only to give up as soon as he saw the two laughing hysterically. 'I give up.'

The two slowed down after a bit and finally looked at the boy staring at them confused.

"I must thank you for helping me. This wouldn't have been possible without your help. Yes, you haven't met Enri. She is me. I'll let her take over. Don't want to cause any suspicion. Bye for now." With that Aloshi became a wisp of smoke and disappeared from the tutorial space.

"Thank you for protecting me, Owen. Bringing back Aloshi made me realise how crippled I have become. As an ex-expert rank player, you are able to avail a rare class scroll and a 1 week bonus experience scroll. Would you like to continue using your old character [IshootLoads]"

"NO. Please don't."

"Excellent choice. Would you like me to recommend a race for you?" Hearing the Enri's words, Owen was surprised. Aloshi newer recommended anything to him when he first created the character." It's a new feature they added. I suggest you let me recommend a character for you."

"Ok. Just show me a template."

"Here."

"What kind of race is this?" Owen was surprised to see such a good race card placed before them.

"It's a limited card. There can only be 100 players of that race. It also has very little combat rating. It's kind of a slow burn but its extremely versatile and that's all I'm allowed to say without triggering red flags."

"Thank you. I'll take it."

Owen felt something changing around him, probably some racial features but sadly he couldn't see his own body yet.

"Alright. Would you like to roll for the unique talent now or would you prefer to do it after getting a class?"

"Is this the one were you pay for the good roll?"

"Yes. I can rig it a little but i do hope you spent atleast a couple of 100k just to stay under the radar. If you got an S tier on the first roll, I'm pretty sure they would get suspicious."

"I'm not that..."

"I spent a few days in your head. I know your bank balance."

A massive screen appeared before him with two buttons. One was for a single draw and the other for a 10 draw combo both of which were free.

Owen clicked the one time roll.
