"Hi, could you please let me in, sir." Owen was teleported right next to the city gates thankfully a little away to not frighten the guards. There wasn't many people around since most of the players were busy leveling in the starter region. The guard became suspicious seeing a not human, human girl walking into the place with no IDs, whom he had never seen before in his life. Not to mention the abnormally high mana that was casually reverberating around the girl. But for some reason he was able to keep his mind and didn't jump to the typical 'demon invasion' conclusion.
"what is your purpose of visit?"
"I have a few rabbits corpses that I would like to sell. Also I would like to enter the town hall to register for membership." A perfectly good answer.
"You can sell the meat at the butcher but we aren't intrested in more members at the moment unless you have a strong combat class or a decent crafting class." The guard let the side door open letting the girl enter.
"I'm only a farm hand but I do possess a big mana capacity. I have only killed rabbits so far so I'm not sure about my combat abilities." Owen was surprised the guard knew about the recruitment details. Considering how many new rowdies are about to enter the place, it was normal for them to start looking to hire more guards around town.
'The butcher should be right next to the general stores. Most of these towns have a similar template.' Owen could feel the death gaze that he was receiving from the townsmen. 'I must find a good aura suppression passive. This is becoming a bit too uncomfortable.'
Naglorent was nothing special, just another fodder town were the new players stay till they can officially leave for the better hunting grounds. She walked around a bit and soon reached the town square. There were a few tailors and blacksmith stalls but the one Owen was looking for was more towards the back. The butcher shops were always closer towards the slums. The rich love good meat as long as it's processed far away from their homes.
"Wa.." The sudden appearance of Owen startled the butcher. "I almost attacked you child. What are you doing here? Want some meat?"
"I was hoping to sell a few rabbits corpses. Was wondering if you were buying some."
"I do need a bit, but I can't sell them if they are damaged. Show me what you have and I'll let you know of they are good enough."
Owen took out some meat and let the butcher observe them. "These are good. I'm not sure how you did it but I'm confident you could maybe sell the fur too. They do sell well at the tanners. Wait a bit. I'll soon them for you."
"I have a few more." Owen took out the remaining corpses from his inventory and lay them on the counter.
"You would one day make a very fine hunter young girl. No, you already are an excellent one. Not many here can hunt rabbits without damaging their skin."
"Thank you. Actually, I'm just a Farmhand. I was raised in the forest so i learned a few thing." Owen went with the flow and collected the few copper she was owed.
"The town wouldn't allow anymore workers in now. They have to reserve rations for the winter. Farms aren't exactly functioning since the snows about to stick. But, I can give you a recommendation considering how perfect your games were. I'm Sukijo."
Owen left looking for the town hall.

"Hi, I'm looking to get a residency certificate. I'm a decent Farmhand and I can handle myself if I'm attacked." Owen's status wasn't worth much apart from the higher mana capacity. Sadly he wasn't a mage class, one of the most sought after by the NPC rulers in this world.
"If you can prove yourself a worthy combatant, we don't mind but what can a Farmhand contribute to the security of this town? You know what, if you get the approval of the chief of town guards, then we can talk about your residency." Owen was given a paper and was asked to get approval from the town guards. The pattern was similar to second life but there was no contribution points since he was no longer a 'player'. There was bound to be a monster siege, the typical mmo trope but this time Owen would be playing the damsel in distress.
The town barrack is next to the entrance to resist sudden attacks from monsters. There were always a squad stationed inside. Naglorent was a small newly established town with a very small defense team and the soldiers haven't fought any battles yet.
The chief was inside watching over the recruits training when out of nowhere Owen entered the yard requesting his approval.
"You think anyone can just barge in here and ask for an approval? Get in line. There are too many outsiders these days that wants to mooch of the town guards security. What are you 10? You think you can protect others? Think again."
"How can I prove I'm strong if you won't even let me. I'm much more older than I look." That got the chief's eye rolling.
"If you can get a single one of these trainees knocked out, I'll let you join the town. Think you can do it?" The chief stared death threats at Owen expecting me to complain.
"I hope they can handle my earth spikes cause they are pretty strong." Owen gave a fair warning.
"Oh, you have magic spells. Now that's interesting. Alright, who wants to fight a little wannabe mage?" The chief's mockery was responded with obnoxious laughter from the crowd.
"Let me. I've always wanted to beat up a mageling." A brute walked out from the file with a sinister look in his eyes. It was evident that he only saw an opportunity to show off in front of his peers.
"You aren't going to use a shield? I'm really strong. Be careful." Owen's warning earned him a bit more muffled laughter but the crowd was getting excited. It looked liked this was the only instance of entertainment they got on an otherwise boring day.
"In position, FIGHT!" The chief gave the signal and the soldier rushed with the typical opening move of a close-quarters fighter, 'Rush'.
"Earth Spike." Casual chant and an earth spike ripped out the heavily paved training floor towards the trainee warrior.
Splash! There was a few screams but then countless trainee fighters started vomiting. Maybe it was from constantly targeting the rabbits neck, the spike had penetrated what had once been the neck of a decent soldier in the making. What remained of his face was nothing other than a hole that was large enough to see the through to the other side.
"I did warn you. I'm strong." The casual remark from Owen made the chief shiver. He was still grasping what had happened as he slowly realised how big a trouble he was in. It was his duty to always check the potential trainees. 'How am I going to explain this to the mayor.'
