Chapter 3: Time for a montage

It's been about 3 hours since I woke up and found myself in my own novel the time is now 12:35 and I've calmed down enough to think figure some things out about my current situations.

I was able to unlock the holo-watch and I can say for certain that I'm the same Gianni Ali that I scrapped before I first released my novel.

I was also able to figure out the date is 8/23/2590 and it seems I'm about one week away from when the beginning of the story which is when the fortress begins its school year on September first. 

Fortress is basically a military school that nurtures the best and the brightest knights the world has seen. All the big names and guild leaders have come from the halls of fortress.

Knights are exactly what you would think they are in this world they're the people who go out and fight the monsters and villains that plague the world if you still don't get it just think of this world as a generic hero society because it is.

You have your knights who travel to zones of high mana concertation that spawn monster's aka mana fields in order to hunt monsters and then you have demons' people who contract these monsters and grow with them while gaining their abilities.

The first recorded instance of mana was in 2154 the appearance of mana brought mana fields and monsters with it. Humanity was driven to the brink of extinction due to the existence of these monsters.

Thats when the first Knights with their gifts appeared and pushed these monsters all the way back into the mana fileds they were originally created in. The emergence of knights brought along the creations of guilds and the knights association which lead to an era of peace.

Though not long after all this those greedy for power discovered they could contract with monsters to grow stronger quicker, and this gave rise to the first people to become known as demons leading to one of many great wars. 

Eventually in a time of peace the knights banded together to create schools for aspiring knights to hopefully keep them from going down the path of a demon.

Now we are once again in a time of peace though not for long.

But putting all that aside all I can say right now is "Man, I lucked out." I say this because the story is divided into four major parts, the academy arc, the knight arc, the war arc, and the rupture and needless to say starting out during the academy arc gives me a bit of breathing room as no world ending threat appears yet.

Or at least that's how the story is supposed to be divided as I went on hiatus before finishing the war arc so my future knowledge only goes to the midway point of the war arc, and I had already been hinting at the rupture so I know that should happen.

That leads me back to where I am now preparing to start training before the school year starts, I only have a week to get used to this body, so I need to train as fast and efficiently as possible.

For a someone his age who had access to such limited resources my stats aren't bad their what you would expect from someone who ranks in the middle of his grade.

But if I want to survive, I'm going to need a lot better so since mt strength is my highest stat I'll focus on it later right know what I need is to train my mana, agility, and stamina.

Without a proper technique or outside help unless I devoted every waking second to it increasing my mana to E would take more than a week, so let's focus on stamina and agility.

There is also the matter of my gift distortion, if I remember correctly the gift would allow me to distort matter affectively destroying it pretty much it's an op skill and another reason, I scrapped Gianni. 

"Alright then shall we see just what distortion can do." I looked around the room for something that I wouldn't care about destroying " this pen should do."

I picked up the pen and stared focusing to channel my gift after what felt like forever so more like 15 seconds nothing happened. 

"Why won't it work am I doing something wrong?" I took a second to gather my concentration and tried again and got the same result a complete failure.

So, I spent another half an hour doing this just trying to get my gift to work and then it hit me " I'm an idiot how am I supposed to activate my gift if I don't actually know how to use mana!"

Forget what I said about training mana earlier while it won't be my main focus, I need to make sure I know how to use it before I have to start attending fortress.

And so, my training began I would wake up at 6 A.M. eat breakfast then train my stamina with cardio until 9 A.M. then I would rest and it until 11 A.M when I would start my agility training.

I trained my agility by doing stuff like yoga and stretches along with speed and jump training, I did this until 4 P.M. where I would then rest until 5

At 5 I started with learning how to use mana by sensing the flow and trying to control it. I did thus until 10 P.M. with occasional breaks for rest and food and then I went to bed.

That is how I spent everyday training for a week trying to get prepared for fortress and what was to come during my time there.

"today's the day huh?" Today was September first the first day of the school year I was nervous but at the same time I was excited to see the characters I had created and how the world unfolded around me. 

Needless to say, today is my first big step forward. Wish me luck.
