"I'm feeling a lot better than before." Lord Xie Yang said, "How about you, father?"

"I'm strong and full of bustling vitality." Said the middle-aged man with wrinkles around his eyes with a gentle laugh.

While chatting with him, Lord Xie Yang brought up the real reason why he came to see him.

"Father, I wish to train in the spiritual forest today."

Father Yong's expression turned colder than ice!

"I promised your mother that I will never let harm come to you or let you harm yourself, so how can I let you go to such a dangerous place where the mortality rate of mortals is way above 70%? Unless you become a cultivator and have the ability to defend yourself, don't even think about heading there!" Lord Xie Yang was willing to cooperate with his father so that the latter would see for himself that his son was not a liar but an honest and upright man!

"Let me see."

City Lord Xie Yong grabbed his wrist and poured streams of his spiritual energy into his body.

Lord Xie Yang didn't resist and let his father's spiritual energy envelop his elixir field.

Lord Xie Yang was being honest with his father, though he had hidden what the lucky encounter was.

Father Yong didn't want to know either as he was satisfied with only knowing that his son had gained a lucky encounter and become a cultivator.

"That lass is your lucky charm, so treat her better in the future." Father Yong said.

A serious look appeared on Lord Xie Yang's handsome face as he said, "I will not disappoint her and always keep her happy."

"Since you're insistent on going there, I won't stop you." Father Yong said, "However, I have a condition."

"You must take the leader of the shadow guard, Xie Ye, with you."

Father Yong revealed his condition with an adamant look, making the onlooker think it would be hard to change his mind.

"Don't worry, father. I will come back home unhurt and unscratched, not only for you but also for my wife."

Lord Xie Yang was confident in his ability and was sure that he would be able to take care of most of the problems himself.

"I understand where your confidence is coming from, and I believe in you too, but you've to be careful in the spiritual forest as it is not a safe place for even low-level cultivators." Father Yong warned.

"I know, father." Lord Xie Yang nodded his head.

Father Yong turned around to look at the leader of the shadow guard.

"Xie Ye, be with my youngest all the time and make sure nothing happens to him."
