Chapter 9: Chapter 7 – Northern Territory

"F-Fuck, i-it's cold..." 

It's been 3 hours since we're on our sail, there's no any obstacle on the way. We're already entering the border of the NP's, but its really cold in this area, i wonder how do people survive in this climate. I also used double layers jacket for the cold, but its still very cold.

"V-V-Volga, how come y-you could n-not fr-freezing?" 

"Me? Its how my hull is designed for..." 

"R-r-right..."

"Commander, you need some warmth?" 

"I, i really need it." 

Because of the cold, we're inside of the carrier's main tower, Volga brewed me some hot tea.

"Here Commander, please don't get cold." 

"T-thanks." Greynar took sip from the tea. "Ahh... I feel better."

A distant explosion heard inside the tower. 

"Volga get ready to launch your decoy plane, try to investigate what is that explosion." 

"Affirmative Commander."

One of the plane launched from the flight deck, since the explosion is loud. We're probably entering the main defense of the NP. 

"Commander, we got visual."

Volga got a visual by the decoy plane, a mass produced ship by the Azur Lane is fighting the Siren's. 

"Volga get ready for your dive bombers to take off." 

We'll also lend some assistance in the front line, the KANSEN might also be in the front line fighting them, but we haven't got any message coming from them. 

"Commander we're ready to take off, what is your next order Commander?" 

I took a deep breath, this is my first order to attack after my official debut as a Commander.

"I order you to destroy the Siren." 

"Project 72 - Codename: Volga, Aircraft Carrier. Launching attack." 

The bombers took off into the distance. Siren ships who was still launching barrage of bullets is being destroyed by the airstrike. The battlefield become a big massacre for the Siren ships, they used the AA guns to shoot down the bombers but they're too high to get shot down. We received a communication from the other side.

"Hello hello~ thanks for the assistance. Are you the reinforcement by Azur Lane?" Pamiat's voice was heard.

"Yes, we're the reinforcement sent by Commander Noir." 

"Good, then lets have a drink after this battle new comrade!"

The radio become silent. We haven't even introduce ourself yet. 

"I've been wondering for these years but they really do like to drink aren't they." Greynar slumped down to the chair. 

"Maybe they also like to have a new friend." Volga giggled. 

The warzone still rages on, the mass produced ship slowly destroyed one by one. The Siren's are still sending their reinforcement, we're sending bombers back and forth. The battle has died down, its only down to a few Siren ships. The battlefield seems died out because of the Siren stopped coming, but its also something that will become the calm before the storm.

"They will attack us again, no doubt about it."

Since the Siren has stopped sending reinforcement, we're in the backline of the mass produced ships, meeting with Avrora and Pamiat is our objective. Since its already finished, we got communication from the other side. 

"Avrora, reporting in. Thanks for the assistance Commander." 

"Good day to you light cruiser Avrora." 

"You too Commander." 

"I haven't introduce myself yet, im Commander Greynar, a new Commander that recently got recommended by Commander Noir." 

"Nice to meet you, Commander Greynar."

"Where do we go next? We're not familiar with this place yet. Could you guide us to the base?" 

"Then, i will be your guide." 

Because the teleporter still under prototype, we can't easily go into another location easily. We have to take a manual road to get into another location. It took 50 minutes to get into the base from here. The mass produced ship is defending the front line, because of the Siren strange movement, they're on guard 24/7.

"Commander we're entering the base." Volga entered the main room.

"We'll go meet them after we're docked." 

The carrier is parked next to the dock, i got down using the ladder from the hangar. Avrora and Pamiat welcomed us.

"I have said this before but thank you for the assist, Commander Greynar." 

 "No problem, its normal for us to help our ally." 

While Avrora and Greynar talked to each other, Pamiat asked Volga.

"You know? That scene in the battlefield was really thrilling, those Siren ships got eradicated an instant with your planes. Is this the power of the Commander?" 

"Yes, its all thanks to the Commander, he guided me using his wisdom to victory." Volga replied with a smug face.

'Hey no... You're exaggerating that, i only simply ordered you to attack after confirming using decoy plane.' Greynar heard what Volga said.

"Heeeh... This new Commander is an interesting person." 

'Please don't make me more embarrassed, im only thinking about what's the best measure against unknown things.' Greynar face was shown sullen. Avrora didn't notice about Greynar's expression because she's having fun talking about her story in the olden days.

We got into the NP's main building, its a building that is modeled after an traditional house from Russia. Inside of it, i see a decoration of a deer head, which they said that they hunt it during a day off. The room temperature was warm, and the fireplace is burning calmly with no wind inside. 

"Commander, are there any concern about the recent battle with the Siren?" Avrora asked.

"Yeah, there's one thing that i would like to know, how did the Siren launch a surprise attack on us?" 

"Something has happened near our border, the sea who was calm suddenly become furious and the Siren started to through the gate they were using, it was as like as someone set up something for the Siren to get through our east border."

Greynar nodded at Avrora explanation. 'the Siren attacked them suddenly when the sea raged, is it some anomaly that occurred? Like the mirror sea.''

"There might be something inside of that border that we don't even know, we probably need a submarine to search what inside it." 

"That's true, because it was in the border, we were careless and didn't investigate what's under our territory, im ashamed to say that we've failed to defend humanity from the Siren." Avrora looks dejected.

"No, don't be discouraged, it was at least not a fatal mistake, also the Siren is still an unknown being to us. It might be also a trick by them to make us confused, they may has set up another trap that we didn't even notice. Those siren's ships probably also a bait for us to waste resource on." 

"....Commander Greynar... You're right, we are careless this time, but there wont be next time for us if we didn't learn from our mistake. Then Commander, please lead us to the victory path." Avrora look with a determined face.

"We need some kind of plan to countermeasure the Siren while also to get into what inside the border in the east, i got some plan in my mind, would you hear me?"

Even with mass produce ship combined, they wont survive against a high ranking one, we need a plan for it.
