Chapter 1107: Prophecy Spell (Part 1)

Saleen’s family badge would not be able to absorb energies without sticking it onto the target. Saleen had tried various means of controlling the badge but was not able to yield any results.

No one but him was able to use the badge. It was only able to bring its two elements into play when it was in Saleen’s hands.

It was capable of absorbing energy of any type. When the stored energy reached a certain level, the badge would unleash incredibly powerful lightning attacks.

If the badge had a third element, it would be its level of hardness, which rendered it unbreakable.

Saleen missed and all sorts of information flooded in from everyone around him.

“Master, the Grey Memory was unable to lock on to its target!”

“My liege, the rules within Tears were unable to break that territory!”

“My liege, the golden sword aura was being suppressed!”

“My liege, the lesser prophecy spell was being negated. It was some equipment over level 12!”

“Saleen, my powers are intact, but I’m unable to penetrate the barrier!”

“Never mind, watch me,” Saleen said and 3,600 golden runes shot out from his eyes. Blue lightning shimmered as it cut open the field formed by divine spells. Saleen shouted in a thunderous voice to keep the opening open and stepped inside with a single step.

Other than using Quickcloud for movement, he had also infused new skills within his step. Using earth magic mimicked from water element, the ice sheet beneath his feet froze into an apparent path of icy earth, straight for the great head inquisitor.

The great head inquisitor lost his way, seeing Saleen getting near. Within several seconds, Saleen arrived at the side of the light barrier, moving in an eerie manner and at an even more frightening speed. He was not capable of tracking the afterimages that resulted from Saleen’s movements.

Saleen pressed his family badge onto the light barrier, which ended with the 100,000 angels flying within absorbing into Saleen’s family badge. After absorbing power energies, the space within the badge seemed to have grown.

Saleen scanned and saw the angels reducing to pure energy in the sea of lightning inside the badge.

The great head inquisitor had not anticipated that outcome. The thunderous voice from Saleen’s mouth was magic that he had never heard of before. While the spell’s power levels were hardly high, the rules contained within had him shuddering.

The ring of defense formed by the Armageddon Codex had three layers broken. Saleen’s mystical badge pressed onto the barrier as he got close, absorbing its energies at a frightening rate.

The Armageddon Codex trembled violently in the air, attempting to shake off the badge.

The great head inquisitor knew that he would not be able to complete his Luster of Purification, but he deemed Saleen as having a death wish for getting so near him.

Attacks on holy masters were usually executed at a shorter range compared to mages, yet the great head inquisitor’s level within range was one whole level higher than Saleen’s. In a fight fought at such close range, Saleen was at a grave disadvantage.

Furthermore, the great head inquisitor had more than just the Armageddon Codex with him. As the most important figure within the Tribunal, he had the sixth and fifth godly items, and the fourth godly item was under his control as well.

However, the huge godly item was inside the headquarters of the Tribunal and was unable to be brought out.

The Light Barrier of Armageddon was quickly absorbed by the badge in Saleen’s hand and turning thin, and the hovering Armageddon Codex in the air was also at the brink of collapse. The great head inquisitor immediately took his weapon, a crystal skull, out.

Pure luster swirled in the crystal skull’s eye sockets, one red and one white.

It was the most famous weapon in the Tribunal’s possession, far more renown than the Armageddon Codex.

The Divine Skull!

It was said to be crafted out of a powerful god killed by the Lord of Glory. The god possessed two powerful rules, one which was very similar to the divine light of the Lord of Glory, while the other was the rules of flames.

A popping sound was heard in the air and the Armageddon Codex fell to the ground. The huge light barrier shattered and about half of the angels were absorbed by Saleen’s badge. He unleashed the lightning powers of the badge at the great head inquisitor without a second thought.

The crystal skull in the great head inquisitor’s hand was frightening. Saleen knew that if he let the great head inquisitor’s equipment unleash its powers, none around him would come out alive.

There was simply nothing to hold back. Powerful light was unleashed from Saleen’s badge, which suppressed the divine light cast by great head inquisitor and the 11 holy masters.

The great head inquisitor sensed a thick air of death looming. He sent the darkness under his control lashing out at Saleen. There was no way for a level nine sorcerer to have any combat capacity left after casting such a terrifying skill.

The great head inquisitor guessed correctly, but he did not know that Saleen was armed with powerful equipment capable of boosting mental powers. If it had been in the past, Saleen would be a sitting duck if he used his family badge after casting Eye of Lightning.

Saleen did not lock on to the great head inquisitor. The badge was filled with energy so quickly that control became impossible. The resulting lightning bolt was several meters thick, enough to cover all 11 holy masters with its attack.

The crystal skull in the great head inquisitor’s hand was unable to complete its unleashing of energies before jumping up, turning into a skull that was over ten meters in diameter.

The skull was nothing compared to the head of the giant, but when that crystal skull returned to its original form, countless lines of holy prose filled up the insides of the skull, forming a complex image.

Things happened too fast for anyone to react. The thick lightning bolt hit the skull. Being named Divine Skull, it was apparent that the equipment was crafted using the body of a god.

While Saleen’s lightning attack was powerful, it was still less than the most powerful the badge was able to muster. The badge had been damaged, resulting in it being able to hold less than one-ten-thousandth of its reserve when it was whole.

The huge skull was blown away by the power of the lightning bolt. The one attack by Saleen’s family badge snuffed out the lights within the skull’s eye sockets, and the skull itself suffered severe damage. The holy prose within the skull was almost all wiped away.

The great head inquisitor felt the connection between him and the Divine Skull severed. The skull flew far away into the mountains. It still had not yet landed even after flying more than ten miles away.

The Darkness Double sneaked up in front of Saleen, popping out from the ground. It was unfortunate that it met Sika’s staff. The illusory, shadow-looking double was crushed to dus. A whiff of black smoke returned to the great head inquisitor’s robe, still wailing.

Sika felt her staff get heavy all of a sudden. Her weapon was contaminated from crushing the Darkness Double. She had never encountered it before and had no time to repair her weapon.

She put it away, as the magic beast battle soul within the weapon would be capable of dispelling the contamination. She took out a javelin and threw it at an adjudicator.

That adjudicator pointed with one finger and shouted, “Down!”

Sika’s javelin dipped and kept flying at the adjudicator, who had to point several more times before the weapon fell to the ground. Sweat beaded on the adjudicator’s brow. He needed to cast three divine spells before he was able to break a pure physical attack. Just how strong is that woman?

The great head inquisitor had gotten worried, which was why he did not hesitate to cast a level 11 divine spell.

Seven black lines of holy prose floated between his ten fingers, coalescing into a term.

“Defiler, your life ends at this very moment. Your soul will be broken into seven pieces. Your future will be bleakness for eternity!”

The great head inquisitor cast a dark prophecy spell, above his level, which was more vicious than Divine Punishment. He was able to tell that it would be impossible to take Saleen alive. If Saleen remained alive, the powerful ones by Saleen’s side would have incredible kill counts.

He was locked onto by a terrifying weapon. Even with more than a dozen buffing divine spells, he was unable to shake the locking off. The attack would come any second.

The only one who detected the danger was Sika. She wanted to summon the skills stored in her necklace but found herself having lost her voice. The fluctuations in her mental powers failed to remain stable. She would not be able to even throw her javelin, let alone use the skills within the necklace.

While the great head inquisitor’s skill targeted Saleen, everyone else was too close to Saleen and were caught within that status without any way of retaliating.

The seven black scripts appeared above Saleen’s head, which then went into Saleen’s body.

The dark prophecy spell took shape!

Sika felt her mind falling downward,s and it seemed as if the earth crumbled right beneath her, unable to support her body and provide her with power.

Every follower by Saleen’s side at the moment felt a terrifying vibration coming from the depths of their souls. It was the contract trembling!

Only Nicholas was able to keep his consciousness when the dark prophecy spell was cast. He thumped the Scepter of the Fallen in a rather despairing manner.

Grey light spread and when the dark prophecy spell was completed, all statuses disappeared. Nicholas extracted all powers within the Blood Soul Tower and uttered only one sentence: Let the world burn!

Saleen felt himself being thrown into absolute immobility. Something snapped within his being, which flew out of the depths of his soul.

It had only been mere seconds, but Saleen felt as decades have passed.

The Figure of Fate that Gaine crafted for him shattered, which would take a very long time to repair. Saleen’s soul was completely intact. It was just that he seemed to have lived the content spoken by the dark prophecy spell.

Pfftt…

Saleen and the great head inquisitor both spit blood at the same time. The 11 holy masters were caged by Nicholas’ lesser prophecy spell. Everyone within felt compelled to destroy everything before them. As such, all 11 holy masters moved, with their targets being their comrades at their sides.

The dark prophecy spell of the great head inquisitor was to blame. It boasted a huge area of effect, and other than the target being almost incapable of withstanding any attack, its residual powers would affect others, which included himself.

Divine spells and magic spells worked identically in that regard — if a spell beyond one’s level was cast, there was a possibility of suffering its recoil.

Nicholas destroyed two powerful souls within the Blood Soul Tower out of despair. A level ten lesser prophecy spell was cast. All 11 adjudicators were still being subjected to the effects of the dark prophecy spell, which made them vulnerable to the level ten lesser prophecy spell.
