Luo Ke looked at the orange tin case on the bed, eyebrows raised, “Did I just make the next surprise materialize?”
She took Lin Sifei’s hand, “Let’s see what’s inside the case.”
Lin Sifei smiled awkwardly, and placed a hand on the lid, “How about we leave it, everytime we come into this dream it doesn’t last long before we wake up. If it isn’t satisfying we will both be disappointed.”
Luo Ke glanced at her before curling her lip, “But we can continue after we wake up.”
Lin Sifei immediately shook her head as her eyes flitted around, “But I’m busy lately, and getting ready to film, I need to save all the time I can get for my human form.”
“Then I will just only take a peek.” Luo Ke reached out again for the lid.
Lin Sifei simply kneeled on the lid, “If you take a peek, and see something that you really like, then there won’t be any meaning for the surprise next time.”
Luo Ke fell silent as she thought, while Lin Sifei nervously looked on.
“Okay, you have persuaded me.”
Just as Lin Sifei breathed out a long sigh of relief, Luo Ke pounced on her, pressing her onto the bed. Lin Sifei’s cheeks immediately became red and her toes curled inwards as she stuttered, “You, what do you want?”
Luo Ke closed her eyes as she circled her waist, “Just let me hug you let this, for a bit.”
Lin Sifei also reached her hands out, capturing Luo Ke’s waist and back. She opened her mouth, humming a sweet lullaby.
With the soft female voice, the lullaby took on a life of its own and used its lyrics to weave out a fairy tail world, letting those hearing the voice sink in.
Luo Ke’s eyelids slowly closed and her breathing evened.
Lin Sifei lowered her head, and seeing Luo Ke’s lips angled slightly upward and her loosening brows, she couldn’t help but feel happy. She lightly kissed Luo Ke’s forehead as she murmured, “Sweet dreams.”
She closed her eyes too, hugging her as she drifted off to sleep.
When she awoke in the morning, Lin Sifei felt some heavy weight on her, so much so that she couldn’t breathe. When she opened her eyes, she saw one of Luo ke’s arms draped over her own body.
Lin Sifei sighed and pushed with her legs to escape the weight.
Luo Ke always had very shallow sleep, and feeling the movement near her hand, slowly opened her eyes. Seeing the struggling Lin Sifei, she changed her hand position and picked her up and placed her next to her torso.
She rubbed Lin Sifei, “Sleep a little bit more, it’s still early.”
Lin Sifei rubbed her eyes and took a glance at the clock. Yes, they could sleep one more hour, but usually Luo Ke would get up really early, so staying in bed was a slight surprise.
Lin Sifei covered her mouth and laughed, and then purposefully teased her by putting her paw onto her face, as if she were putting a stamp. The pads on her paws were soft, so they felt a little weird and itchy to Luo Ke’s skin.
Luo Ke also giggled, and then poked at Lin Sifei’s butt, “Just let me sleep a little more.”
Lin Sifei laid on her chest, staring at her sleepy face. She thought about it for a bit, and then rolled off and turned back to her human form.
She brushed away her long hair, then lowered her head and kissed Luo Ke’s cheek.
Luo Ke opened her sleepy eyes again and looked at her.
Lin Sifei smiled, “You sleep a little more today, I’ll go prepare the stuff we need for work and bring the breakfast to the table for you.”
Luo Ke smiled and leaned back, “Xiaoxiao, you’re so good.”
Lin Sifei pouted, “I’m Feifei.”
“What difference is there,” Luo Ke mumbled before pulling the covers over her head to continue to sleep.
Lin Sifei had both arms on her hips as she stood next to the bed. Well, she couldn’t just say that she was jealous of her cat form and cat name.
After feeling wronged for a little while, she just scratched her head, put on some regular clothes and went downstairs.
When she went downstairs, Aunt Wu hadn’t yet left, as she was making congee. When she saw Lin Sifei come down the stairs, Aunt Wu suprisedly glanced at her, “Ms. Lin, how come you stayed at Ms. Luo’s place last night?”
Lin Sifei started, but then remembered that last time she came, she did say that they were friends.
“Ah, yes, sometimes I will come over to live over here, since I’m also alone. I feel more comfortable with Luo Ke accompanying me.”
“I see,” Aunt Wu said as she took off the pot lid and turned down the stove, “I haven’t seen Xiaoxiao recently, and the cat food in the fridge seems like it hasn’t really been touched. Maybe it’s sick, otherwise it’s eating really little.
Lin Sifei’s eyes scurried around, avoiding Aunt Wu’s gaze, “It’s because Chair Luo has been bringing Xiaoxiao to the company a lot recently, and the employees there all feed her, so she doesn’t eat when they come home.
“Then I’m reassured.” Aunt Wu pointed to the large food thermoses on the table, “Buns and fried dumplings are in there, and when Ms. Luo gets up, you guys can eat together. No wonder she told me to get or make two portions.”
Lin Sifei, smelling the scents of breakfast, felt her stomach gurgle, “Thanks.”
“I’ll leave now then.”
“See you.” Lin Sifei sent Aunt Wu off at the door, waving enthusiastically.
She closed the door, plated the buns and dumplings and served the congee, then muttered to herself, “Go get Luo Ke out of bed.”
She ran up the stairs and secretly opened the door to the room. Luo Ke was still lying on the bed, back to her.
Lin Sifei giggled as she pounced, pressing Luo Ke down, “Get up get up.”
Luo Ke rubbed her eyes, “I know, getting up now.”
Although she said so, Luo Ke did not move.
Lin Sifei pinched her cheek, trying to get her more awake, “You can’t sleep anymore, you have work today. Plus, if you’re going to correct your circadian rhythm, you need to get up.”
She pried open Luo Ke’s eyes, forcing her to be awake.
Luo Ke exasperatedly reached out a hand, “You pull me up.”
Lin Sifei straightened her body and grasped Luo Ke’s wrists, grunting, “Heyo!”
Luo Ke used the inertia to sit up, rubbed her eyes again, and kissed Lin Sifei’s cheek.
Lin Sifei happily led her downstairs by the arm to eat breakfast.
“So you guys have solved the problem with Baylor? What happened there?”
Luo Ke pressed the area between her brows, “Something stupid that my second uncle caused. He suddenly went to them to sign another contract to expand the market, and then one clause stated that we have shoulder leftover costs alone. Thankfully, the other side was also cautious and requested a second confirmation, but they also wouldn’t let go of this weakness. They listed a bunch of things I need to take care of, and then a bunch of stuff they needed to confirm, so it wasted some time.”
“So it’s solved now?”
Luo Ke raised her head and met Lin Sifei’s eyes, which were full of worry. Luo Ke smiled and rubbed her head, “Don’t worry, both sides made a compromise and our collaboration will continue.
Lin Sifei mumbled, “oh” before she complained, “That second uncle of yours, really, last time at the company, he smashed the glass, and then this time he went off by himself to attempt contract negotiations.”
When Luo Ke heard her, she slowed down the stirring motion she was making in her bowl, “My second uncle doesn’t really have a talent for business, so the collaborations he negotiates always have something go wrong.”
“I think we should find a psychologist,” Lin Sifei bit into a fried dumpling, “Like, literally. Maybe your second uncle feels inferior internally, which causes him to be violent and might cause depression for him later. We need to pay attention to this stuff.”
“I think you’re overthinking,” Luo Ke laughed.
Lin Sifei put down her chopsticks and looked at Luo Ke seriously, “I’m telling the truth. Some of the people around me were like this, and they seemed like normal people. The most you could say about someone was that they had a bad personality, but in the end, a lot of them had mental illnesses, and some tried to commit suicide.”
It’s difficult for non psychological experts to determine anything, and so Luo Ke became more worried. In her memory, although her second uncle hadn’t been as close to her as real parents as children, he was always gentle to her. With him being like this, there may be something actually wrong.
“I’ll see if I can find an opportunity and communicate with a doctor.”
Lin Sifei smiled, picked up a bun with her chopsticks and put it into Luo Ke’s plate, “It’s better to do these types of things early.”
She smiled and lifted her eyebrow.
After they ate, Lin Sifei turned into her cat form and jumped onto Luo Ke’s car, having her drive them to the entertainment branch of the company. They needed to find a solution for the movie’s second female lead.
As Luo Ke started the car engine, she glanced exasperatedly at the cat sitting like a boss on the front passenger seat, “You wanted me to go with you because you want me there to support you, right. If you stand next to me, even if it’s to give me a good impression, other people will agree to your demands.”
Lin Sifei meowed, agreeing, You learn quite fast.
“You really are really a fox, using me like a tiger for intimidation1,” Luo Ke laughed as she turned the steering wheel and blended into the traffic.
As they neared the company, Lin Sifei slithered to the back seat to turn into her human form and put on some clothes, especially her sunglasses. When Luo Ke finished parking, Lin Sifei opened the car door and bent her waist to get out of the car.
She took a sweeping glance at the security around them, and then crossed her arms in front of her chest to wait for Luo Ke.
Luo Ke got out of her car not too far away, and came out with her computer bag.
Lin Sifei slanted her eyes to look at her, “Why are you still carrying your computer bag, what about your boss aura?”
When Luo Ke heard that, she slowly raised her gaze to look at her, “Do I need you to remind me?”
Lin Sifei’s pupils constricted and she felt her legs quake just a little, so she slowly raised up a thumb. Yes, this was someone who was a boss by herself.
Lin Sifei today picked out a long, pale purple dress to wear, while Luo Ke was still in her signature black suit from head to toe. The two entered the company shoulder to shoulder.
When they got to the entrance of the company, Luo Ke placed her ID card on the machine for scanning, and as the machine recognized her status, it opened the door.
At the same time, the front desk workers immediately sent a message to the boss of the entertainment company, notifying them of Chair Luo’s arrival for inspection.
The entertainment boss was originally looking at files in his office, inwardly sighing at the amount of artists that were barely bringing in a profit. When his secretary suddenly came in to notify him of the inspection, he was so shocked he immediately stuffed the financial files in a drawer.
He picked up his suit coat and hurried outside, but when he reached the secretary desk he told her, “Immediately give me a good looking file summary, but do not falsely report any numbers.”
His secretary watched him leave, sighing, “But financial reports are just all like that, how do I make it good looking.”

As they passed some artists within the company, Lin Sifei felt that the artists under them were all so-so. Also, there was a group of male artists that they had passed, probably under the same band or something, playing video games and cussing.
Lin Sifei, hearing these male artists and a female artist arguing, rolled her eyes. She patted Luo Ke’s shoulder, pointing over to their direction, “Are these people really packaged well?”
She shook her head, “This is not good, if their usual actions are like this they will be exposed soon.”
Luo Ke also frowned as she looked over and then turned her head back, “I’ll make them deal with it.”
The boss of the entertainment sector also saw this scene when he came over, which definitely caused him to break out in a cold sweat. He rushed up to that group of artists to take away their phones, “You guys, what are you doing, playing games and not practicing! Is the company spending money to let you guys play games? Go practice!”
The males just glanced at each other between themselves and left, crestfallen.
Lin Sifei pursed her mouth, “If they are all like this, it is no wonder that their operations are bad.”
The boss was just walking over, but he caught this sentence from Lin Sifei, causing him to nearly lose his composure. He took a deep breath and recomposed his smile before speaking, “Chair Luo, you’re here for inspection?”
“No,” Luo Ke turned her head towards Lin Sifei.
Lin Sifei stepped forward, “Do you guys have any actors with decent acting, like just over 18?”
“Yes,” the boss clapped his hands, “I’ll call her over.”
He immediately picked up his phone to call them, “Who? Yes, Chair Luo is here, yes, in the headquarters…. Okay, how long do you need? Half an hour? Okay, okay.”
He ended the call and then returned to them, “Chair Luo, they arrive in half an hour. Do you want to take a look at this sector?”
Luo Ke slanted her eyes at Lin Sifei, and Lin Sifei returned her gaze, understanding the gesture.
Luo Ke was asking her if she wanted to see it.
Lin Sifei puffed up her cheeks as she thought about it, but she quickly made an okay sign with her finger. She could use this opportunity to learn about the condition of the company anyways, and maybe help in the future.
