Chapter 3: Support

Olivia sat in her dorm room, feeling completely overwhelmed by the weight of her studies. She was on the brink of a mental breakdown and could feel the tears streaming down her face. She had always been a perfectionist, but the rigors of her Nuclear Engineering program were pushing her to her limits.

Emily knocked gently on the door, her intuition telling her that something was wrong. Olivia didn't answer at first, but Emily persisted, knocking a little louder until Olivia finally called out for her to come in.

When Emily saw Olivia, her heart sank. She was sitting on her bed, a crumpled heap of sobs and tears. Emily sat down beside her and put an arm around her, feeling the weight of Olivia's head fall onto her shoulder.

"It's okay," Emily whispered. "You don't have to be perfect all the time."

Olivia took a few deep breaths and finally started to calm down. "I just feel so much pressure," she said, her voice shaking.

"I know," Emily replied. "But you don't have to do this all alone. I'm here for you."

The two sat in silence for a while, Emily holding Olivia as she cried. Eventually, Olivia's tears dried up, and she sat up to look at Emily.

"Thank you," she said, her voice quiet. "I don't know what I would do without you."

"You'll never have to find out," Emily replied, smiling softly.

Olivia smiled back, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her. She was grateful for Emily's presence, and she knew that she could always count on her for support.
