Chapter 2: First day

Olivia stepped out of the taxi, taking a deep breath as she surveyed the sprawling campus before her. She was finally here, at one of the top universities in the country, ready to start her degree in nuclear engineering.

Growing up in a small town in the middle of nowhere, Olivia had always been fascinated by science and math. She was the top student in her class and had received a full scholarship to attend the university. But as excited as she was to be here, she couldn't help feeling a little intimidated by the sheer size of everything.

She made her way to her dorm room, lugging her bags behind her, and was pleasantly surprised to find that she had been assigned a single room. It was small but cozy, and she quickly set about unpacking her things and making it her own.

As the days and weeks passed, Olivia threw herself into her studies, attending lectures and labs and spending long hours in the library. She loved the challenge of her coursework and the satisfaction that came with solving complex problems.

But she also found that college life was more than just academics. She joined a club for women in STEM and made a few friends, but she still felt a little lonely at times. That was until she met Emily.

Emily was in one of Olivia's classes, and the two struck up a conversation after a particularly difficult exam. They quickly discovered that they had a lot in common, including their intelligence and their love of learning. Olivia was drawn to Emily's quiet confidence and her sharp wit, and before long, the two became inseparable.

As Olivia got to know Emily better, she realized that there was something else about her that drew her in. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but there was a spark between them, a connection that went beyond mere friendship.

Olivia tried to push the thought out of her mind. She had never been interested in girls before, and she didn't want to ruin their friendship by making things awkward. But the more time she spent with Emily, the more she realized that she couldn't deny her feelings any longer.

One night, as they were studying together in Olivia's room, Emily leaned in close to her, her breath warm against her cheek. "There's something I've been meaning to tell you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Olivia's heart skipped a beat. "What is it?" she asked, her pulse racing.

"I think I might be falling for you," Emily said, her eyes searching Olivia's face for a response.

Olivia felt a surge of joy and relief wash over her. "I feel the same way," she said, a smile spreading across her face.

And just like that, their friendship blossomed into something more. They spent the rest of the night talking and laughing and exploring each other's bodies, and Olivia knew that she had found something special.

As she drifted off to sleep in Emily's arms, she knew that the road ahead wouldn't always be easy. But she was ready to face it with Emily by her side, and she couldn't wait to see where their journey would take them.
