The paved ground was smoother than the path overrun with tree roots. The hustle and bustle of the city weren't as prominent as Big Apple's traffic. Yet, It was too quiet for a busy city.
'No homeless, no candy men, no alleys. Must have one police force.' Aiden thought, scanning the area and sitting down on a bench. Men in uniforms rushed up and down, and women and children strolled the streets. Children were staring at Aiden, yet adults struggled to ignore his existence. After waiting for a while nothing happened. 'What's wrong with the system? Whatever, later.' Easy victims. 'They have sewers, ain't awful smelly. They show up too often, those purple men. Too many greetings too. Police.'
Yet, for every action, there's an opposite reaction. 'Must be the bar; no one is entering. Violent gang, to have a front open in the morning. 50 ft. along the path, the police won't even enter.' Aiden leaves and enters the bar; his sweaty clothing was screaming foreigner moreover. His body odor was the icing on the cake.
"Welcome, good morning. What can I get for you on this impeccable morning, my good sir?" An older gentleman said, operating the bar as Aiden approached him.
"Cheap drink, hotel, weapons," Aiden responded, placing several silver coins on the counter. 'Easy victims, the magic helps. But why it too draining and painful?' Glancing around the room, some men acted like knocked-out drunks, but it was only an act.
The gentleman looked Aiden up and down. 'Which type of street did this young lad grow on to be so inconsistent? He acts like us, yet he has no scars or scabs. His skin looks too fair, almost like a maiden, while behaving immodestly. All the fine people of this robotic town are too cowardly to do anything eye-catching.'
"One large beer. A hotel is above us, single floor, mind you. This bar owns it if you would prefer resting now, young lad." Passing him the beer, the gentlemen touched Aiden's fingertips. 'His fair skin isn't make-up; it's too soft, possessing no calluses. Did he ever lift a pen in his life? Boss would be sure to love him.'
"There are other hotels if you mind ours, and they are down the street, twenty stores over, right after the bakery. The expensive ones are further down. You will know when you see them." He said briefly, inspecting Aiden's features. 'Boss doesn't like darker colors, but his skin is one of a kind.'
"As for weapons, we don't sell such vulgar things," as he said that, Aiden choked on the beer. "My goodness, my good sir, are you alright? Here, have some water."
'He called my bluff, didn't he? Hopefully, he doesn't know about Boss.' He thought to himself.
'Bull,' Aiden thought.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Where is the blacksmith?" Aiden said, putting down his beer and glimpsing at the gentlemen's face. 'Twitching eyebrow? Blacksmith gives police weapons.' A brief moment of deafening silence ran across the bar. Even the acting drunks got 'sober' and stopped with their shenanigans. "I can ask enforcement instead," Aiden said as he left. 'Acting is just acting.'
"Have a good day, young lad," the gentlemen said as he left. 'He called my bluff.' He pulled out a handkerchief and patted his forehead, although there was no sweat. The drunks went back to their routine. 'He's a different breed. Boss needs to know.' Looking down at the coins, he put them in his pocket. 'Heh, yet, Boss doesn't need to know he stopped by.' He leisurely walked up the creaking stairs and soon arrived at the rooftop.

"Boss, a new matter has arisen and should have your full attention," he said as the door opened up for him. A nude woman on a reclining beach chair as if she was embracing the bright sun.
She turned her head, "Oh my, if it isn't the most beautiful bastard that has graced me with his presence. What should I do? My legs are too weak to move. Sadly, I can not greet you appropriately, your grace. But please, come in, make yourself at home. After all, my workers get paid due to your unbound efforts and grace, and the utilities function fine."
'If you want to repay the favor, pay with your body.' "Boss, there was a young lad, who could not have been older than twenty, who has a lovely face and behaves like a maiden. He will surely be your new favorite," he said, eyeing his Boss's body up and down. 'What a treat.'
"Oh, how should I ever repay for your observant eyes? You still had me in your heart after so long? How amazing! Your compassion can not get constrained. How should I ever repay you? Ah, why are you standing so far away? Please come in further. I do not bite or anything. I am not some ravished beast."
Like an animal smelling a female's pheromones, he got lured until his face was only inches away from hers. Crunch! She sank her fangs into his neck, his face turned blue, and his body flopped onto the floor.
'Sure, unbound compassion, truly unbound deceit.'
"Oh, darlings! A body is here. Can you please clean up this wretched thing? My nose can not handle such an atrocious thing." A few men in black dragged the body and threw it down to the streets.
"Oh, and if I could bother you to add such a small request in your demanding schedule, can you elect a new bartender? As you can see, my weak body can not handle such stressful matters. Oh, and please track that boy for now. Please do not startle him. He must rest after dealing with that poor excuse of an animal." One nodded their head, and they headed went downstairs.
'After all, prey taste best when startled.'
