Chapter 12: Great increase in strength (1/2)

"Amazing!" Thiago exclaimed while looking at his stats. To understand why he reacted like this we have to go back to a few minutes ago.

Just after defeating the scorpinkey, he started to use his skill <Black Hole> on the corpses strewn around the floor. He did naturally not begin with the Scorpinskey's corpse, because you should always save yourself the best for the end.

And in this case the corpse of this special creature of the 3rd Tier of the Student realm would surely be giving him the most [Essence] out of all of them.

Screaming in his head, "Activate Black Hole," the black singularity immediately reappeared, but the difference from the last use of this ability this time is that it formed on the tip of his tail rather than in his maw.

The reason for that is naturally that after his realm advanced from the novice realm to the Student realm, his various abilities were upgraded including his strongest skill <Black Hole>. The black hole could now be used either like the original inside his mouth or at the tip of his tail. Additionally, the range of his black hole has also increased to about 1 meter in diameter which is a huge improvement to before.

"That's really convenient" Thiago marvelled after positioning the black hole on his tail rather than his maw, because it was way more comfortable to just move your tail towards the corpses than having to move your entire head in that direction.

Coming back to his senses, he did not waste any more time, in case some other beasts were attracted due to the heavy smell of blood in the air.

Arriving in front of the first human hunter, his information was displayed in front of him.

[Member of the blue moon hunter group]

After quickly Scanning through the information, he now knew how their small hunting group was called, not that it mattered after they had died here.

Not seeing anything else important he averted his gaze from the panel and turned his sight back to the body, looking at the human body he did only hesitate for one second until he moved his tail above it.

The body was almost instantly sucked into the black hole and Thiago inwardly chose to transform the corpse into [Essence], so that he directly felt a warm energy coursing through his body that was simultaneously making him stronger again.

"Ah, I love this feeling of becoming stronger!" He exclaimed while still being immersed in this wonderful sensation.

When the energy reached a saturation point, he suddenly received a notice:

[Congratulations! You have advanced: 2nd Tier of the Student realm]

"Amazing!" He exclaimed happily after seeing this notification and realizing that he had advanced forward one small realm again shortly after just having reached the Student realm.

His body felt incredibly powerful and light after this breakthrough, but this feeling was only fleeting and quickly disappeared, since it was only a breakthrough between small realms and not a major realm, otherwise the feeling would have lasted longer and there would have been many more changes.

"It was really a good decision to follow these hunters to this place, otherwise I would have missed out on this great opportunity. And this was just the first corpse, who knows what all of them combined can help me." Thiago suddenly reminisced back to the moment when he decided on following them here.

Returning out of his thoughts, he stepped next to the body lying just a few meter away and just like before the information of this person was displayed in his vision.

Roughly looking through the information, he did not find anything important except that this person also had had the cultivation of the 1st Tier of the Student realm like the corpse before.

This time he was hesitating on whether to convert into [Essence] or int o [System points], the reason being, that a corpse of a lower realm than him would not give him a great increase in strength and it could be more meaningful to rather convert into [System points]. On the other hand, if he devoured multiple corpses of a lower realm than him, they would still offer him a good increase in strength, so it was a not so easy decision for him.

Subsequently contemplating for a few seconds, he decided to convert most of the corpses of a lower realm than him into [Essence] and leave one or two at the end to convert into [System Points].

In this way he would still get a few system points and on the other hand increase his strength to the best amount possible.

Having decided this, he started to once again suck the corpse into his black hole at the tip of his tail and chose to convert into [Essence], which made him feel a warm current spreading in his body and giving him the beautiful sensation of becoming more powerful by the second just like before.

But this time it was not enough energy to let him break through to another small realm, which did not make him unhappy, due to him already having expected this outcome.

Quickly coming back to his senses from this sensation brought by the increase in strength, he roughly estimated that he only needed to devour one or two more corpses with a realm of the 1st Tier of the Student realm and he would be able to advance to the next small realm.

"Then let's get on with this feasting!" he murmured with a subconscious evil and demon like smile on his face that made his incredible sharp saber teeth protrude while exuding a colossal amount of bloodthirst. 

If any human were here at this moment to witness this scene, they would surely be deeply fearful of Thiago, because of his intimidating aura and bloodlust, he subconsciously displayed.

Thiago was not even aware of how his aura had been constantly influenced by his killings, not that it would matter for him, because this aura would only be displayed subconsciously when he was fighting or collecting his prey.

So, there was no real negative effect at the moment.

What he also did not know, was that his aura had been keeping other not much stronger beast away from this place all the time, because they simply didn't dare to approach.

Coming back to the scene, Thiago was rapidly approaching the next body, that was only a short distance away from his position before. Reaching the body, he straight away moved his tail above the body and started the same procedure as always namely sucking the corpse into the black hole and then choosing [Essence].

Promptly the already familiar feeling of energy coursing through his body and the subsequent feeling of becoming stronger appeared, but this time he was not riveted in the feeling and already regarded this feeling as something natural and wasn't too surprised anymore. In a few days he would probably not even pay attention to this sensation anymore, because it would become something natural to him and he would get used to it.

This time the energy was just a little bit short of being able to promote his realm to the next small realm. This was naturally in his considerations because he made the forecast before of needing one or two more bodies to break through again, so it turned out that his forecast was right. Hence, he looked for the next body at once.

He started the same procedure as before.

This time the [Essence] literally flooded his body and was way more abundant compared to the ones before. It seemed as if this person was at the peak of the 1st Tier of the Student realm and therefore his [Essence] was way more condensed and had a higher energy value than the [Essence] of the two corpses before.

The [Essence] coursed nonstop through his body until suddenly there was a small explosion, that only Thiago could hear inside of his body, which indicated his breakthrough to the next small realm.

And just as before, a notification popped up in front of his vision:

[Congratulations! You have advanced: 3nd Tier of the Student realm]

"Haha, I broke through again!" Thiago cheered with happiness.
