Chapter 13: Great increase in strength (2/2)

 

Stabilizing his mood, he scanned his surroundings and to his disappointment counted that there were only five of the original nine human corpses left.

"Sigh, they won't bring me much benefits anymore except for system points, I guess" Thiago uttered.

Despite saying this, he still adhered to his previous thought of plan to only use the last two corpses for [System points] and devour the others for [Essence]. Arriving in front of the next corpse he already almost autonomously sucked him in his black hole, due to having done the exact same motion for the nth time.

After the corpse was once again converted into [Essence] he did feel a much weaker energy course through his body, the reason naturally being, that he was already at the 3rd Tier of the student realm while the corpse he had just devoured was only at the 1st tier of the student realm, so its energy naturally seemed rather weak for Thiago at this moment.

Nevertheless, he still noticed an, albeit rather small, but still an increase in his strength.

A few minutes later he had already devoured the last two corpses, including the corpse with a cultivation of the 2nd Tier of the Student realm. After devouring those two, the mana in his body was almost about to reach the peak of the 3rd Tier of the Student realm.

This came as a surprise to him, because he did not think that those last two corpses would be able to provide him with such a large amount of [Essence] to push him towards the peak of his current small realm. With this, his chances of reaching the next small realm after devouring the corpse of the Scorpinkey were much higher than he previously thought. The reason for his thinking is also relatively logical, because with each advance in realm, the energy required to reach the next realm will also rise exponentially.

This also explains, why he could advance in realms so quickly at the beginning, but now it is becoming a little slower every time and requires more [Essence]. Naturally Thiago has it easier than every other cultivator, because he only needs a certain amount of [Essence] and then he can break through to the next realm, instead of having to cultivate and comprehend for a long time.

Now coming back to Thiago, he stood in front of the last two corpses and sucked them into the black hole as usual, but this time he chose [System Points] instead of [Essence] and immediately he saw two notifications pop up in front of his vision.

"Wow! So much! I'm rich!" Thiago exclaimed subsequently to seeing the two pop up messages, since these were way more points than he had expected to receive, but when he thought back to how much, for example the [Small inner world (upgradeable)] costed, he immediately realized that his current number of points was nothing. Especially when he thought about how the small inner world was not even one of the really expensive things in the [System shop].

Calming down, he began to wonder why these tow corpses gave him different amounts of points, but when he thought about it clearly made sense, because the points were distributed according to the energy in the devoured item or body, so these two had probably differed in their strength. And different strength is equal to different energy the majority of the time, so this was probably the reason.

He decided to think about the use of those points later when he has returned to the cave, since now the time has come for the main course.

Coming to the scene, where the scorpinkey was lying, Thiago observed is enormous dead body, while thinking if his black hole could even work in this situation because the scorpinkey was a little too big.

Not thinking too much, he directly tried it and contrary to his expectations it actually worked, just that it only worked because he remembered at the last second, that he could just go to the back of the scorpinkey and start there with sucking him in, instead of wanting to start from the side which is actually a rather dumb move.

Nevertheless, the sucking in took a little longer than usual, because the scorpinkey was firstly way larger and heavier than the corpses before and the suction force was not yet at such a level that it could easily suck in such a big monster.

Waiting for around five seconds, the scorpinkey was finally completely submerged in the black hole and couldn't be seen anymore.

This time he completely deactivated the <Black Hole> skill, since there was no need any more to have it being activated at the moment.

Then after feeling that he could choose again between [Essence] and [System points] he unhesitatingly chose [Essence] this time.

This time the [Essence] gushed into his body as if a dam had been broken, so violent was it. The energy swept through every meridian inside of his body until it flowed into his dantian where it was constantly being compressed by the [Essence] coming from behind until suddenly the energy reached a point where it could not absorb any more.

This happening was a clear sign of an incoming breakthrough and see there, just a short time later there was a silent boom sound inside Thiago's body and it was as if the energy had found an outlet and was therefore suddenly shrinking in volume.

This sounded as if the above would have taken a long time but in actuality it happened almost instantly and Theo only felt a slight shaking of his body and then he already found himself to have advanced to the next small realm.

Just like the many times before, the already familiar notification also appeared in front of him at this moment.

[Congratulations! You have advanced: 4th Tier of the Student realm]

He was just about to look aways from the panel, when he suddenly saw another notification appear on his panel, that immediately stunned him

[You received Affinity: Poison]

"What!? How did I receive poison Affinity?" Thiago exclaimed after reading the notification.

"Oh, I think I understand! It was probably that the Scorpinkey had the Poison affinity and now that I devoured him, I also get its affinity. Damn, this <Black Hole> skill is really incredible, Hehe." Thiago muttered to himself. 

And now after he saw this notification, he wanted to look into his body with his senses like those cultivators always did in those cultivation novels, where they could perceive their dantian and stuff, but sadly he could not do this yet. 

Remembering to do this at a later point in time when he would have the means necessary, he decided to open his status, now after this successfully obtained opportunity.

He silently chanted in his mind: "Open Status" and promptly he saw his status panel appear Infront of his eyes.

Scanning through the information, Thiago quickly saw that from his skills only <Basic animalistic bite> had been upgraded to Level 5, but carefully thinking about it, it also made sense, because he did not use the other basic skills at all this time and for the <Black Hole> skill to upgrade, it would take more than just a small realm advancement, because this skill was already frightening powerful.

No longer seeing anything else, that could be important at the moment, he closed his status again and moved his gaze around the place where the fight had happened and after seeing that he did not forget anything, he marched back towards the cave where Faye was still staying.

While walking he was already making plans on his further development and one of the most important things for him was to find a place to live, that was deeper inside the forest, because only by fighting stronger enemies could he become stronger faster. And as it happened to be, the deeper you went into the forest the stronger the best and monsters would be.

Another important thing he had decided on, was that he would try to find out information about this world, because the unknown was always a little scary and he would like to know more about his situation and this forest.
