Chapter 22: Massacre of the Goblin Village

Soon after the goblins had completely encircled him, Thiago realized that he could not wait any longer or else the situation would only worsen for him, so he acted according to the famous saying: "Attack is the best form of defence".

But just as he was about to blindly attack the surrounding goblins, he remembered that he had previously bought new skills and even tested them in combat, so now was obviously the right time to use them. Having thought of that he immediately casted his area of effect type skill "Poisonous Black Mist" which could help him immensely in this type of battle situation and keep especially those low ranked goblins from restraining him, because the black mist was lethal for those under the Student realm.

Straight away billowing black mist diffused to the surroundings in a ten-meter radius around him, which would be able to keep most of those disgusting low-level goblins at bay while the higher-level goblins would not be much intimidated by this mist just as we had seen in the previous fight between Thiago and the big goblin where the goblin's skin was able to counter most of the corroding effect of the mist.

Nevertheless, Thiago had also become a little stronger since then, so the "Poisonous Black Mist" would be even more powerful this time as well. Suddenly seeing this weird and dangerously looking black mist appearing around Thiago did only stall those goblins that had wanted to attack him since a long time ago for a short while, until some bold goblins jumped into his black mist field and were almost instantly corroded until they were about to die.

But how could Thiago let such a good source for [System points] escape, so he directly moved his tail towards those goblins and devoured them rapidly with his < Black Hole > skill. He instantly realized that this was actually his first time devouring a still living thing, but this did not matter much for him it was more like a fun fact or so for him at this moment which was promptly interrupted by a few system notifications.

This number of points was naturally incomparable to the one he had gotten before form those Student realm hunters, but mosquito meat was still meat, so no matter how tiny the amount seemed right now, it would add up after time. So, Thiago was in no way disappointed, rather was he encouraged to kill more of the Novice realm goblins to get more [System Points].

Those goblins outside were unable to spy on what was happening inside the black mist, so they did not know what had happened to these goblins, yet. After having devoured all those low-level goblins that had dared to jump into his black mist field, Thiago seemed to realize that those goblins were rather sorted and acted in an orderly manner which made him think of the possibility that they were actually being commanded by a leader who hasn't shown himself yet.

Thinking of that Thiago seemed rather sure of this theory because there were only lower-level Goblin attacking him until now and none of those Student realm goblins had attacked him yet, which really indicated that some strong man from the goblin village was instructing those lower-level goblin to test out the waters, which meant the same as to probe Thiago's strength.

"Well, if you want to play like that, then you have vastly miscalculated, Hehe." Thiago sneered while thinking that if those strong goblins won't attack together with the numerous weaker ones, then they might not have a chance against him because he could slowly rot out the lower-level ones and then he could fight undisturbed against those powerful ones. And in the process of eliminating the weaker ones he could farm [System points] and depending on their respective realms also [Essence], which would in turn boost his strength greatly for when the fight against the truly powerful out of this goblin village came.

Well, all this plan now was based on the assumption that the powerful goblins would not interfere in the battle yet due to them letting the weak goblins fight Thiago first until he should theoretically become tired. What he didn't know was, that this was actually the way the goblins usually combated when they fought in larger groups.

They would usually let the weaker ones be used as cannon fodder to tire out the enemy and then when the enemy was rather tired, the powerful goblins would give him the finishing blow. Usually, this tactic would work against normal beast in the Student realm, but unfortunately, they had Thiago as their opponent today, who was an anomaly what concerned endurance, fighting strength and skills. 

One thing that has to be mentioned when speaking of their fighting strategy, is the reason they dare to treat their weaker specimen as cannon fodder.

The reason for that, being, that the goblins have an incredible high reproduction speed and therefore do not care that much about these losses of lower-level goblins, because after a fight like that is won, they will quickly have reproduced enough young kobolds to be able to act according to the same reckless and sacrificing oriented combat plan, who was just like the motto "kill a thousand and sacrifice eight hundred", again.

Seeing that no more goblins were actively running into his black mist, Thiago had another great idea, which was to combine his other two skills with the one he was currently utilizing.

'I could use my skill < Shadow Binding > to bind those goblins, but differently to the last time I used it I could try to pull them in with those shackles instead of just binding them on the spot and then in combination with my other skills < Dark thorns > and < Poisonous Black Mist > the zone around me would become a hell on earth for them, Haha! Yes, let's do that.' Thiago quickly planned after having thought of somehow combining his other skills to be able to exterminate these goblins less time consuming and more effectively.

Then without hesitation, Thiago did as he had planned and activated his other two skills at the same time, which immediately cause numerous unlucky goblins to be drawn into his black mist domain where they were received by nothing else other than his dark thorns piercing them from the ground upwards while simultaneously being corroded from the poisonous and dark miasma. All in all, this operation of Theo had caused numerous casualties on the goblins side at once. 

Whenever he saw that a goblin was about to be completely corroded, he would quickly sweep his tail towards that direction and devour said goblins with the help of his < Black Hole > skill, so that they would not be corroded until nothing was left and he could not use them for [System points] anymore.

This situation made him think of some limitations of his current < Black hole > skill, because it could not devour something that had already been completely corroded by his < Poisonous Black Mist >.

This was obviously only a slight inconvenience because he had to always act faster and be on alert so that they would not be corroded to the bones. Well, this was just a slight limitation, and it was nothing big and could be easily countered so it was nothing to be afraid of, but Thiago would nevertheless find it really good if this problem could still be solved somehow by incorporating his < Black hole> skill with other skills, so that even in the case of a body being completely corroded by his Dark mana and poison, he would still be able to devour them.

Ending his distracting thoughts, which had no significance to the battle at hand, he let his gaze wander around and realized that there were still around 300 goblins encircling him, but they also showed obvious signs of fear, well, at least the weaker ones. 

Nevertheless, this showed how effective Thiago's plan had been in fact of the view how he had killed around 90 goblins in this short time frame just now.

  Also, slowly but steady this place was forming a huge bloody aura in the air due to all the deaths and the bloodshed in this place since Thiago had arrived here.
