Chapter 25: Eyes of Eternal truth

Looking around the now empty Goblin village with only the intact huts and the bloody smell in the air still indicating that there had been creatures living here before, Thiago decided to search the just mentioned huts, since there might be some treasures these goblins had hidden inside their homes.

Well, this was only a hope on his part and would probably not be the case, because most of these forest goblins were rather poor, because even though they inherently liked to hoard valuables, how would they be able to do that if there were no humans coming to this forest, which in turn meant thy the goblins would also not be able to steal their treasures, so where would they get their riches from.

Nevertheless, he began to search all the huts, but already at the first he had no finds, which did not discourage him, but when it came to the second, third, fourth, and then the nth, it became clear that his earlier guess had probably been true and they were just plain poor.

"Damn why are you such poor ghosts, I did not even find some gold, ores or anything of at least some value! You are a disgrace to goblins!" Thiago cursed at them for literally having searched through every hut at a lightning-fast pace but not having found a single valuable item and instead just some rags or cooking utensils, which were of no damns use too him.

These poor goblins were even cursed by Thiago, the only reason being that they were too poor for his taste, after he had already cruelly murdered their whole village. If they knew about it, they would probably try to crawl back out of hell into the living world just to slap him to death.

Not that Thiago would care about their feelings in any way.

Now that he had checked that there definitely were no treasures hidden inside this goblin village, he decided to collect his mission reward now. Looking at his system panel he clicked on [Missions]

And there he immediately saw his already previously completed mission.

[Current Mission:

Find the goblin Village and eliminate every goblin in there. 

Status: Completed

Reward for completion: 1 Random skill/Technique]

Clicking on the reward with his mind, a notification appeared saying:

[Do you wish to collect your reward now?]

[Yes] -- [No]

Now that he was in this perfect place where nobody would disturb him at the moment, he decisively chose [Yes] and immediately a wheel of fortune appeared in front of his vision.

This wheel of fortune was illuminated in blinding golden and intimidating blood red colors, representing the two sides of gambling namely the lucky winners depicted in golden and the losers who lose everything due to gambling even their sanity.

Well this was just Thiago's imagination running wild here, because these two colors were obviously just for show and had no meaning except looking good. And besides, you could not lose on this wheel of fortune because the reward specified that it would be one random skill or technique so there was simply no option of getting nothing.

Thiago could not make out the individual prizes depicted on each of the wheel of fortune's segments, because they were too small and simply too many it looked as if there were infinite prizes to win in this wheel of fortune.

Just as Thiago was thinking of how to operate this wheel of fortune, another notification popped up.

[Do you wish to spin the Wheel of fortune, only including prizes in the category of skills and techniques, now?]

'Yes' Thiago answered in his mind while inwardly praying to the god of luck and fortune, because he did not want to get a unusable skill in such a rare opportunity.

Subsequently to him answering [Yes] the notification disappeared and the wheel of fortune slowly started to spin until it got faster by the second when the moment came where one could not recognize anything on the wheel because it was spinning at unimaginable speeds.

"Holy, that's damn fast!" Thiago yelled in shock after seeing the wheel suddenly accelerating to an unthinkable degree.

'Well I should have expected such, it is the system after all.' He thought afterwards when remembering how incredible the system was, and that this wheel was nothing in front of its true capabilities.

After almost half a minute he saw that the wheel was still turning with basically the same velocity and showed no signs of stopping anytime soon, he was growing somewhat impatient, but just as he was about to voice his complaints the spinning wheel promptly decelerated.

Just a few seconds later it was almost coming to a standstill and he could only hope to get a good and preferable useful skill, in view of the fact that there just weren't any ways to read the prizes written on the wheel. 

"Come on, please get me something good" Thiago cheered from the sidelines while at the same time keeping a close eye on the wheel.

Just as his nerves couldn't bear the stress of the unknown any longer, the wheel of fortune finally stopped and its pointer was set. The next moment he received a notification announcing his just won prize.

[Congratulations: you have obtained the < Eyes of Eternal truth > growth type ability.

"Wow, this is exactly the type of skill I had wanted to buy the day before, what a nice surprise!"

Thiago merrily exclaimed while staring at the notification and clicking on the skill to see its description.

[Eyes of Eternal truth

Description: This ability lets you see the truth and information of all things depending on your and the thing or creature's strength that you are looking at. The greater the difference between your strength and the other party's or the item's strength is while you are the weaker one, the less information and truth will be displayed to you. 

Disadvantage: Can have a huge burden on the eyes, if the body is not strong enough.]

"Well this is simply the perfect skill I was still in need of, Haha! Thiago laughed out loud after scanning through the abilities description, who immensely satisfied him with its content.

Thiago was also incredibly elated with his luck having been so good just now, that the got this type of ability. But well, if Thiago knew what other type of skills had been written on the Wheel of fortune as well, that were completely in another dimension altogether considering how overpowered they were, he would probably take back what he had just said now.

'Well now that I have finished my business here in this goblin village it should be time to go now.' He thought while letting his gaze wander around the village a last time, before slowly stepping out of the gate into the forest again.

And even though not much time and passed since he had first entered the village, his strength had grown over leaps and bounds in this short time and additionally he got an incredible new ability as well.

Not having any reason to stay any longer Thiago marched back towards his temporary stay in this forest, the cave he had been living in with Faye since  recently.
