Chapter 5: Chap 5 – Unfolding the True Strength

The surrounding Qi sucked into her body and instantly a faint shadow of a sword came from under her that lunged towards Xia Wei. Her expression was now of extreme disgust and hideousness with a wide grin on her cherry lips. " Illusionary Attack I!" she continued and by the time she opened her mouth, the faint sword shadow was multiplied by five, attacking him all at once.

On the other hand, Xia Wei who was about to receive the attack was still calm, unwavering by the wave of sword attacks. "To have Eyes but fail to recognize Mount Tai!" he replied with his lips pursed and gaze filled with disdain. They were very close and the moment those swords almost touched Xia Wei's nose, a giant shadow overlapped those swords and swept them away with a single wave.

"Flood Dragon Raging Claws!" the room shattered and the table split in half, Miss Bai who had distanced herself from him was now shocked by sight before her eyes. All of her attacks were parried or to be precise her swords were destroyed and turned into nothingness.

At the same time, her eyes widened due to the strangeness of his martial skills, she now firmly believed that he came from the upper world.

It looked like he had just pushed his hands forward normally intending to grab her, yet a giant shadow shaped like a claw seemingly followed closely behind it. It kept moving forward, destroying every part of the building in the process which terrified her.

Although she was a Core Formation cultivator, her father always doted on her by assigning many guards to protect her each time they travelled. This made her feel mentally powerful and appear strong from outside but weak inside.

Her legs trembled and mysteriously her body could not budge an inch, as if all of her power was sucked by this attack. She could feel this attack would make her severely injured or cause her death.

"Wha-what? Th-this… aura, the peak stage of the Core Formation realm?!" she shouted right before the dragon claw took her life. Shock filled her face and her smile and the disgust from before was gone and it was replaced by a pale face and eyes like that of dead fish right before her death.

The battle did not even last for more than two minutes but the giant shadow of dragon claws ripped apart her body and faded into the nothingness leaving behind her remains and a puddle of blood over the area where she stood before. The stunning beautiful Miss Bai was nowhere to be seen, there was only some human flesh disarrayed on the floor. Few pieces of silk also enveloped her remains as her last layer of Hanfu was still intact when she died.

A thick and bloody smell filled the room, strands of black hair were all over the place. The aftermath of the battle caused the wooden wall and the bamboo roof to be ripped apart, only leaving half of the interior and exposing the room to the outside.

The gap between their strength was too big, one had just entered a Core Formation Realm whereas the other had mastered and condensed more than eight-core!.

At that time small bursts of Qi suddenly came out from each of the pieces of flesh and went straight into the night sky. The moment that Qi went to the sky, Xia Wei could see that the other rooms that were far away from his location started to light up along with the sound of bustling and noises of people.

While slowly turning his head, he gazed at the robed figure and found a young man wearing the same Hanfu pattern, plain white with stripes on the shoulders and flying blades emblem embedded on the front.

At that moment, the attacker was still stunned by his failed attack. Xia Wei swiftly gripped the person's neck and gazed at his face with his slit pupils. He could see the shock in the person's eyes and heard his pumping heartbeat. At the same time, a transparent hovering screen suddenly appeared in his view.

Xia Wei reacted upon noticing Lin Jie's gaze on his neck, he looked at him and found his eyes redden and his teeth gnashing against each other with a gaze full of hatred and maliciousness, not even blinking when there was blood dripping down from his neck due to Xia Wei's grip from before.

"You killed Bai Pengfei, her father will surely beat you to death!" Lin Jie spoke with a tone mixed with sadness and hatred while keeping his gaze on Xia Wei, wary of his every movement. One could see his attention kept switching between Xia Wei and the spot where Bai Pengfei had exploded into minced flesh.

"You mean Miss Bai? Wait… I don't understand where the problem lies is, it was you guys who tried to kill me in the first place-" As Xia Wei spoke, his body which was few feet away from Lin Jie suddenly vanished into thin air and appeared next to him, in the next moment his hand caught Lin Jie's head while he was off guard and pressed with a full force, making blood come out from both of his ears.
