"We're ready," Kairi told Ziphoteninx and Kironinx.

He and Rafiz have taken a seat on the sofas, in the living room. No one was there since it was already late night. Rafiz was in front of him while Kironinx was situated behind Rafiz. As for Ziphoteninx, he was behind Kairi.

"Put your palm towards each other without touching them," Ziphoteninx instructed.

After they were done, he and Kironinx closed their eyes. Auras of gold glow appeared around their bodies. Nobody else noticed it because Kironinx had put a barrier around the room.

"Closed your eyes…"

Kairi and Rafiz looked at each other before they followed Kironinx's voice. They felt something inside them and didn't realise their bracelet's marks had spread until they reached their whole bodies.

Suddenly, a tremendous pain hit their mind. Both can't help groaning in pain.

"Hold it! Your memories are recovering themselves!" Ziphoteninx barked at them.

Kairi and Rafiz gritted their teeth hard while bearing the pain. Their bodies also give out sweat profusely. They felt like they were bearing it for years but it was actually just a few minutes.

A moment later, a breeze of freshness soothed the pain in their mind. Along with it comes so many feelings and memories they have forgotten. Unknowingly, their bodies fall to the sofa bed while in a state of slumber.

Ziphoteninx and Kironinx's eyes turn bluish when they open them. Their eyes also turn vertical and stare at the two people.

"The past we hold onto will be watched by you both. So, recover well and discover who you really are… Because you both are just like us… The Heaven's beings and Angels to protect this world." Ziphotenix whispered.

After that, he and Kironinx slowly laid down and closed their eyes while the glow on their bodies slowly disappeared.

Kairi and Rafiz didn't hear it but in their dream, they were brought to somewhere they had never seen before.

More than a thousand years ago…

A few children were playing with each other at the playground. The weird thing about them was that some of them have beautiful wings with different colours behind their back.

"Shiroi, get it!" One of them shouted while kicking a soft floating ball.

Shiroi jumped and kicked back the ball towards another person.

"Kiroki, it's yours now!"

Kuroki had one leg move to the back before he kicked hard at the ball. It flew off into a net goal that someone was guarding.

Huu!

The guard inhaled deep air and his chest widened. He stops the ball with his inflated chest.

"Aww! The chance blew up…" One of them mumbled.

"Sorry…" Kiroki apologised. It seems it was his fault.

"Nah, it's alright."

Suddenly, a bell sounded telling them it was time to go home.

"See you guys tomorrow!"

"Bye!"

Everyone disperses with their wings bringing them to the sky, leaving only Shiroi and Kiroki who don't have wings.

Kiroki, whose height was 60 centimetres while Shiroi was only 55 centimetres, took one of Shiroi's hands. Kiroki had black hair like midnight but it was glowing purple while Shiroi had striking red hair. And they both have the same faces because they were twins. Kiroki walked with Shiroi to their home.

"Brother, when are we going to have our wings?" Shiroi asked. "Our friends, all have them already…"

"Erm… I don't know."

Shiroi looked sad. He was embarrassed that they didn't have wings yet. The wings would manifest when they were three years old but neither of them had it. They were already five years old.

How come they still don't have it? Are they really an angel?

"Don't think about it, Shiroi. Maybe our wings come late. After all, not everyone had wings when they were three years old. Some even get them after a year or two like us." Kiroki encouraged him.

Truthfully, he doesn't care as long as their wings appear someday. If not, then he might wail out to their parents and wonder if they really were their parents.

"Okay…"

Two years later…

"Hey, look! Here come the unwinged twins! The question is, are you guys really an angel? Probably not! Haha!"

Someone mocked them who were now a little bigger than before. Kiroki glared at the boy who spoke while Shiroi didn't even look at anyone. His eyes looked dull and bleak. One of his hands was holding his school backpack.

"Fwen, I swear Imma beat you if I caught you!" Kiroki growled.

Fwen, who was flying with his group of friends, laughed out loud.

"Then, come! I have all day up here for you to catch!" Fwen cackles, followed by everyone in his group.

Kiroki wished he had some kind of power to hit them. Unfortunately, their power won't come out without the appearance of their wings.

"Man, I'm bored. Hey, let's go to the Flowing Cloud. I heard there were a lot of cute girls there." Fwen said to his friends.

"Let's go!"

Fwen and his group left the area. The angry Kiroki harrumphed and then kicked a stone. The stone hit a dustbin and it fell, startling Shiroi beside him. Suddenly, they heard a whimpering coming from the dustbin.

Kiroki and Shiroi looked at each other and slowly walked to the dustbin. They were shocked to find two little animals. One of them was white, hiding behind a black one that was snarling at them with its small sharp teeth exposed.

"Puppies?! How'd they get in here?" Shiroi's eyes brightened and then looked sad.

"Who could have been so cruel to throw them in here."

"Shiroi, I think we have found our bodyguards!"

Kiroki suddenly told him which made him give a hard stare at Kiroki.

"Cough! What?"

Kiroki felt he didn't do anything wrong. He thought if they make these puppies their pets and someday when they grow bigger they can help them beat anyone saying bad things about them.

Shiroi sighed and seemed to know what Kiroki was thinking. He turned back to the puppies and ignored his twin. He remembered he had left a little bacon inside his lunchbox because he couldn't finish it. He opened his bag and pulled out the lunchbox.

Kiroki stared inside his lunchbox which was half-finished. His heart immediately felt pain. Lately, Shiroi didn't want to eat much due to his fever. He was worried about his twin's health. When they went for a checkup, the doctor told their parents that Shiroi only had a slight fever but it's been a few days already.

When is Shiroi going to get better? Today, his twin insisted on going to school with him because he said he was better.

Shiroi pulled out the bacon and let the puppies sniff it. The black pup jumped suddenly and bit the bacon. Its fur puffed up because he was afraid of Shiroi. The white pup behind whimpered. After the black pup got the bacon, it went back into the dustbin. The black pup gives the bacon to the white pup.

"They must be twins like us, don't you think, Kiroki? Kiroki…?"

Shiroi didn't hear Kiroki reply and looked over. Kiroki was startled and rubbed his neck while looking away.

"Of course they are. Look at their fur pattern and tail. It has the same style." Kiroki finally answered.

He hoped Shiroi didn't see the sadness in his eyes just now.

"Let's bring them home."

Kiroki nodded. One of his hands slowly picked the black pup. The black pup growled and snarled when it felt its neck was picked up. It struggled against Kiroki but Kiroki didn't let it go. He chuckled at the black pup.

"You must be the oldest like me, huh? And protect your little brother from the devil. You're so brave. Yes, you are so brave. Welp, pleased to meet you too."

The black pup frowned and bit the finger that scratched its chin.

"Ow! Hey, that hurts!"

Shiroi rolled his eyes at Kiroki and picked up the whimpering white pup. He stroked the fur to calm its downs.

"Let's go home." He said and started to walk.

Kiroki managed to get his finger out of the black pup's mouth and hold the pup tighter so it wouldn't run away. Then, he followed after Shiroi. Their home wasn't that far anymore and they arrived at a single-story house.

The door opened with a snap of Shiroi's finger. It was made like that so the house recognised its owner through the sound that was recorded before.

"Welcome to our home, Ziphoteninx, Kironinx…" Shiroi told the puppies.

"Huh? When did you give them a name?"

Kiroki was dumbfounded. He also hasn't had a chance to name the black pup.

"So? You're thinking of naming them white and black?"

Kiroki turned to the puppies with a guilty conscience. Actually, that was much easier to call the puppies, right?

Shiroi, who could see his thoughts, palms his face. His brother was really bad when giving something a name. There was a time that he named their deceased pet that was actually a phoenix with the name 'Popo'.

The phoenix didn't die at first. It just turned into ashes so it can get reborn into new feathers again but somehow Kironinx thought it was dead and buried it. Shiroi was too late to stop it and saw Kiroki had made their phoenix's grave. And… It died because it was out of oxygen.

This time he must make sure Kiroki didn't accidentally kill their new pets…
