Chapter 55: CHAPTER 55: THE RUSILAC BEAST

"We have found their scent, my mate." 

 

A black male beast of ten feet high, growling in anger because their cub's scent was coming from an Angel city. His big raven wings spread wide and glowed in a red aura.

 

Howl!

 

The female beast, his mate, howled loudly calling their packs of beasts to gather. Thirty-four beasts appear with height and body the same as the male beast. There were twelve females while the rest were male. All bowed to the pair of beasts who were their leader.

 

"We will attack tonight when the moon is full!" The female leader told them.

 

Full moons boost their aggressive power even more. They must be ready to save their children who they taught were mistreated by the Angels. They have come from the Beast Domain in Hell after opening the dimension portal that was guarded by Hell Guardians. The Hell Guardians weren't able to stop their fierce momentum and could only see the beast disappear into the Heaven Portal.

 

"Yes!"

 

Their wings spread with auras. They are the Rusilac Beast. Anyone mistreating their members must die!

 

Unbeknownst to Zagan and his family, the Rusilac have sense Ziphoteninx and Kironinx. Right now, he was watching his sons playing catch ball with the pups in their backyard.

 

“Catch, Kironinx.” Kiroki throws a yellow ball.

 

Kironinx jumped and flew to get it. While they were playing, Shiroi was resting with Ziphoteninx since Ziphoteninx no longer wanted to play. Suddenly Ziphoteninx's eyes sharpened in one direction with ears going straight and fluttering.

 

“Ziphoteninx?” 

 

“Kironinx, what’s wrong?” 

 

Shiroi turned his head to Kiroki who was looking at Kironinx. Kironinx was staring in the same direction as Ziphoteninx. Zagan who saw their behaviour immediately became alert. He sensed something was wrong.

 

“Shiroi, Kiroki, go inside!” Zagan ordered them.

 

Shiroi and Kiroki looked at each other before they went to pick up the pups and ran into their house. The pups struggled for a moment but didn’t do anything later. They were in a trance and returned to normal after they smelled Shiroi and Kiroki's scent which calmed their mind.

 

Zagan used telepathy to contact Gasper.

 

“Gasper, the west has some disturbance. Tell the Cosantóir Team to check.” He told him.

 

“Roger! God, I hope it’s not them.” Gasper replied while complaining.

 

“I think you and I need to gear up with the team. The pups indicate that their family must be nearby.”

 

“My god! I told you to kill them! Now, this is going to be a pain in the butt to finish those beasts. What are you gonna do if those pups realise that we’re going to eliminate their family?”

 

“No, we will try to make peace with them first. If it fails… Hopefully, the pups don’t know about their parents' death. If they do, I will bear the responsibility and hope they can spare Shiroi and Kiroki.” Zagan's eyes turn to gold.

 

“My heart, please take care of our children. I may come back very late.” Zagan continues to telepathy with his wife next, after cutting his communication with Gasper.

 

“Be careful, my love… May God of Protection bless you and everyone.” 

 

Fina, who knows the day would come for them to face the pups' species, has been preparing to protect their children. She went to her children's room after ending her communication with her husband.

 

“I wonder what happened.” 

 

Kiroki was confused while brushing Kironinx's fur with a comb. Kironinx looked delighted by the gentle movement. It also helped soothe his body itch in a place he couldn’t reach.

 

“I don’t know… I have a bad feeling.”

 

Ziphoteninx's sudden whimper attracted his attention. He softly rubs Ziphoteninx's head.

 

“It’s okay. Nothing is going to happen to you and Kironinx.”

 

Then, he sighs. “If only you guys could talk and tell us why you freeze just now.”

 

[Our parents…]

 

“Huh? Kiroki, did you say something?”

 

“I didn’t. Why?”

 

[Our parents…]

 

Kiroki, who finally heard it, snapped his head to Kironinx. His eyes widened.

 

“Did, Did you just speak?” He stuttered.

 

“Yes,” Kiroki answered him. 

 

His voice echoed in Kiroki's head. Though it was not speaking with his mouth, Kiroki was still able to hear his voice.

 

Shiroi was confused because Kiroki was asking Kironinx that question because he couldn't hear anything. He gasped when Ziphoteninx touched his cheek with his front paws.

 

“Shiroi, we want to go back... Back to our parents.”

 

Shiroi's eyes widened. Did Ziphoteninx just speak into his mind?! How?!

 

Shiroi turns his head to Kiroki who does the same. Their eyes show astonishment.

 

“Children.” Fina came knocking on their door.

 

Shiroi and Kiroki were startled and quickly put the pups on the bed.

 

“Yes, mommy?" Shiroi answered and Fina opened the door.

 

"What did you children want to eat for dinner today?"

 

"Cake!" Kiroki answered cheerfully.

 

"Strawberry cake!" Shiroi followed.

 

Fina shook her head with a small smile. "That's not dinner, dear. That's a dessert but mommy will make one. Anything else for dinner?"

 

"No broccoli. It was yucky!" Kiroki makes a disgusted face.

 

"Big brother, broccoli is good for our health." 

 

Shiroi scolded. Then he looks at their mother again.

 

"Want chewy carrots mommy."

 

"Alright." Fina chuckled and left their room after closing the door.

 

Without her children noticing, she put a barrier surrounding their room before she went to the kitchen to prepare their dinner.

 

Shiroi and Kiroki finally face the talking pups.

 

"When did you guys know how to speak?" Shiroi asked them.

 

"Since born. We are Rusilac Beast. Of course, we can speak." Kironinx looked smug.

 

"Then, why didn't you guys speak before?"

 

It was already a month when he and Shiroi took the pups home.

 

"We don't trust you."

 

Shiroi immediately looked sad.

 

"But, we trust you now, isn't it brother?" Ziphoteninx smacked Kironinx's side with his tail.

 

The hit was like a feather and didn't hurt him at all. 

 

"Whatever…" Kironinx laid down and rolled on the bed while picking up the brush. "But… I'll trust you from now on if you brush me again." 

 

He rolled the brush to Kiroki's hands that were automatically reaching for it. Kiroki smiles widely and brushes Kironinx's fur again. However, he thinks Kironinx loves the brush more than him though.

 

"You said about your parents. Do you know where they are?" Shiroi asked the one he really wanted to know.

 

His heart already felt a little sad if they got separated. However, he wanted them to go home too.

 

Ziphoteninx nodded. "Somewhere on the west from here."

 

"Is it far?" Kiroki asked next.

 

"Erm… I don't know. It could be. But, I want to go home." Ziphoteninx whimpered sadly.

 

Shiroi hugs him.

 

"What do you like about home? There's nothing there!" Kironinx harrumphed.

 

Ziphoteninx turned his head to him and frowned. "You don't want to go home?"

 

"I like it a lot here. Soft bed, free food. Not like at home where it is just so hard to get a piece of meat." Kironinx complained.

 

Shiroi and Kiroki looked at them.

 

"Can you tell us where your home is and what it looks like?" Shiroi felt their life was harder than theirs.

 

Ziphoteninx nodded. "We, Rusilac Beast, usually live in the mountains of the desert. Sandstorms were normally found there and… There are no plants except for other scary big beasts but our family can kill them easily."

 

"Tsk! Then, they divide the meat which our parents got them first. Why do we need to divide it? I am unfulfilled."

 

Ziphoteninx growled. "Shut up! The other beast and their pups need to eat too. It's enough to have just a small piece of meat to survive! We are lucky because our parents are the Alphas."

 

Ziphoteninx was angry and sad after reminiscing about their hard life in their home. They live in a cave, safe from other beast attacks. But sometimes a pup or a beast would die. They die because of hunger or injuries that won't heal. It seems living here really wasn't that bad but… This was not their home.

 

"Don't go back… Live with us." Kiroki told them.

 

"Brother!" Shiroi glared at him.

 

"What?"

 

Shiroi sighed. Why is his brother not that smart? He worries for his future. He looked back at Ziphoteninx.

 

"Do you really want to go home? We can send you back." 

 

"Yes!"

"Brother?!" Ziphoteninx was stunned to hear Kironinx reply.

 

"I'm not going."

 

"Don't you miss our parents?!"

 

Kironinx didn't answer. Ziphoteninx whimpered and cried, shocking everyone there.

 

"I want my mummy! I want daddy!" He cried out in anguish.

 

He was scared. Very scared that they were taken away from home. This place was strange and he disliked changes. He wanted to feel the desert, the air of his home. He missed it for a very long time.

 

"Shh, Ziphoteninx. I'll take you home so don't cry."

 

"Sniff… You will?"

 

"Yes, I promise."

 

"Sigh… But where is your home? Do we have to take you to your parents instead?" Kiroki knew their parents were nearby from their earliest sentences before.

 

"Damn it! Fine! Let's go home!" Kironinx stood up and walked to Ziphoteninx and licked his tears.

 

"We will go home, okay…?" His voice slows down gently.

 

"Sniff… Okay…"

 

Then, I must work hard to protect you… 

 

Kironinx thought seriously. A lot of dangers will come when they return home. Hell, it was their home…

 

"Well, what are we waiting for? Shiroi, let's pack up!"

 

"Yes, but we can't tell mommy and daddy. They will not let us out so far."

 

Kiroki nodded. "True."

 

After that, both pack some biscuits they have in their room and some toy weapons. Normal toy weapons won't hurt anyone though but it looks real enough to allow them to flee.

 

Kiriko, who finished packing, carried his bag on his back and went to open the door but was stopped by Kironinx.

 

"A barrier was made by your mom," Kironinx told him.

 

Kiroki and Shiroi looked confused. 

 

"Why did mom do that?"

 

Shiroi shook his head.

 

"No need to use the door. Look!"

 

Kironinx's body suddenly glows a small aura and he makes a dimensional hole appear. But his body was trembling.

 

"Hurry, I can't hold for long!" 

 

Everyone ran inside the hole immediately and Kironinx was the last one. The hole disappeared and Fina, who was in the kitchen, was stunned. His eyes widened slightly before she left the kitchen fast and appeared in her children's room. There was no one inside.

 

"Shiroi! Kiroki!" 

 

She called their name hysterically with fear in her eyes. She never thought the pups already have power. She can't sense them anywhere nearby.

 

Where did her children go?! 

 

She flew up after getting out of her house. Her light pink glowing wings brought her to the sky to search for her children. But, she still can't see or sense them. It was like they just disappeared without a trace.

 

"Zagan! Zagan! The pups have power!" She told Zagan through telepathy.

 

Zagan who was now standing in front of the Rusilac beast group was paralysed in place.

 

"Return our children and we will not harm anyone here!" A female beast growled while staring at them viciously.

 

The representative from the Cosantóir Team looked at Zagan but found him stunned with a horror expression.

 

"Zagan, what's wrong?" Gasper who also noticed it asked.

 

"My children… My children are gone with the pups." 

 

Zagan looked anxious. He wanted to go home and search for them.

 

"Zagan, what'd you say?" The representative eyes widened.

 

"Sir! My wife told me the pups have power and had used a dimensional portal to leave their room!" Zagan saluted the representative.

 

"My mate…" The male beast looked at the female beast after listening to their chatters.

 

"Can you sense them again?" The female beast asked.

 

The male beast shook their head. "They're gone…"

 

"You, angel! Bring us to where you hide our children! If I sense you have been cruel to them, I will kill you!" The female beast snarled at Zagan who she was staring angrily at.

 

"Show her, Zagan. I trust you did not harm them, correct?" The representative looked at Zagan with sharpened eyes.

 

"No, sir. They have been cared for after they were found!"

 

"Good, after everything is over, go to the Archangel to get your punishment for hiding the beast children without telling the authorities and almost endangering our citizens."

 

Zagan nodded. "Yes, sir!" 

 

He has long prepared to be punished once they found out about the Rusilac Beast in his home. A moment later, the pair of beasts followed after him to his house while the rest of the beasts were ordered to stay.

 

Fina was waiting for him and was shocked by the pair of beasts that looked so fierce. She realised these two must be Ziphoteninx and Kironinx's parents. Zagan hugged her and explained to her their reason to be there.

 

Fina nodded and showed them to their children's room after the beasts turned into a smaller size. Their big size couldn't enter the house door. The pair of beasts looked around the children's room. 

 

The room wall was coloured in light blue colour and there was a big queen size bed. They sensed their children were happy to be there. 

 

The male found the brush with his children's fur. His eyes looked nostalgic and gentle after smelling his children again. He didn't sense anything wrong the moment they entered the house. Everything was very peaceful here. Unlike their home…

 

"Parlos." 

 

The female beast called him over to one wall. She smelled the use of Kironinx power there.

 

"They disappeared from here… Shiney, they're probably using their power to enter Heaven Portal accidentally." Parlos guessed.

 

"Grr… We don't know that yet! They can't leave on their own without breaking the Beast Dimension Wall!"

 

"Zagan, our children bring their bags too. It seems they are determined to go somewhere. Their snacks are also gone." Fina told Zagan while staring at the beasts.

 

Zagan nodded. He already found out after looking at the room and somehow realised there were missing items in the room.

 

The pair of beasts turn to them. 

 

"Why didn't you return our pups after you found them?" Parlos asked them.

 

"I… My children love them… They don't have friends anymore so I took them in." Parlos looked sad along with Fina.

 

"Why?" Shiney doesn't understand.

 

"Our children were criticised for being unable to have wings. Their wings haven't manifested since they were three years old. They are eight years old now…" Fina explained.

 

The pair of beasts were stunned. 

 

"At first I wanted to bring them back but I knew how your life was in Hell… I wanted them to be safe here and be my children's friends. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you worried and come here to search for them. I was wrong…" Parlos apologised.

 

"Our pups… Were they hurt when you found them?" 

 

Shiney wanted to know. He will kill this angel if he tells them a lie.

 

"Other than their fur being dirty, there are no injuries."

 

"He is telling the truth, my mate." Parlos sensed it.

 

Shiney went silent and looked back at the wall.

 

"We must find them. Who knows what happened to them now. Their dimensional power is unstable. It can bring them anywhere in Heaven."

 

"They won't go far so they must be still around somewhere." 

 

The pair of beast chattering relieved some worries for Zagan and Fina.

 

"Sir Barrinos, I need your team's help to search for my children and the beast's pups around the Heaven area." Zagan telepathy the representative.

 

"I understand." 

 

Barrinos immediately ordered some of his men to tell the other team in all cities in Heaven to be on the lookout for the Rusilac Beast pups and Zagan's children. They must find them no matter what if they didn't want a fight with the Rusilac beasts.

 

As for the children and the pups they were searching for…

 

"Hey, where are we? What is this place? It feels so spooky." Kiroki asked when they appeared in some kind of dark surroundings.

 

"This place… I don't know. I was sure I directed my portal to appear outside the house. How did we get here?" Kironinx didn't understand how it happened either.

 

"Seriously?" Kiroki, Shiroi and Ziphoteninx glare at him.

 

"What? It's not my fault we are here." Kironinx harrumphed.

 

Suddenly, a breath of cold bringing the smell of decay freezes them in their place. Their bodies instantly went trembling in fear. Their eyes widened when in front of them something huge like a mountain and dark was moving. That something opened its many eyes one by one and all was directed at them. 

 

Shiroi and others can also hear a heavy clunking sound and realise the thing in front of them was chained to many places.

 

What is this monster?!

 

"Ah, finally I can be free… Hahaha. Welcome, the future new leaders of Heaven. I am… Revioryx!"
