Chapter 56: CHAPTER 56: CHOSEN ONE

"I am… Revioryx!" The huge black monster with many eyes told them his name.

 

Shiroi and Kiroki backed away in fear and their bodies were trembling. As for the pups, their eyes sharpened. Fierce snarling and growling came out of their mouths while facing Revioryx.

 

Revioryx laughed heartily because the pups' noise was like a bee's or flies' sound to him.

 

"Quiet!" He roared and his sound wave voice brought a sharp wind to the children and pups.

 

"Shiroi!" Kiroki immediately hugged his twin brother.

 

However, the wind lifted them and flew them to hit a wall. The pain from the hit makes the children faint instantly. Their bodies were not as strong as the adults and a hard hit already gives them so much pain. 

 

Moreover, they don't have protection from their wings that can shield them from anything coming at them. The wings have a function as a defence shield. Without it, both were very vulnerable.

 

"Shiroi!"

 

"Kiroki!"

 

Ziphoteninx and Kironinx were alright because they had their claws and wings to help them from hitting the wall. They ran closer to the children and found them unconscious.

 

Kiroki snarled. "How dare you!" He roared at Revioryx.

 

A red aura came out of his body and a ball of red light manifested slowly in his mouth. When he opens his mouth, the red light beams to Revioryx like a laser. However, the red light was too weak and Revioryx easily used one hand to flick it away.

 

"Is that all you have? Hahaha! Damn, it's so funny!" 

 

Revioryx laughed again. He thinks it's been thousands of years since somebody made him laugh this much.

 

"Brother, this monster is much stronger than us. We can't win against him!" Ziphoteninx told Kironinx. 

 

He also indicated they needed to escape from this monster.

 

"I know! But our friends, we need to protect them!" Kironinx replied while slightly eyeing the unconscious children.

 

Ziphoteninx was anxious. He whimpered while rubbing his head on Shiroi but Shiroi didn't make any movement. His eyes widened when he saw a trickle of something blue coming from a gash on Shiroi's head. Angel's blood is different from human blood. They're in blue liquid.

 

"Shiroi is injured!" Ziphoteninx exclaimed and panicky over it.

 

"Damn it!" 

 

Kironinx got angrier. He starts to run ahead toward Revioryx. He made a red light again from his mouth and released it toward Revioryx. Ziphoteninx knew why Kironinx acted like that and immediately bit Shiroi's collar shirt and brought him to Kiroki. Then, he bit Kiroki's collar shirt too and dragged them away. 

 

His movement was slow because the children's weight was more than him. He dragged them to a path he saw was open but it looked very dark inside. Still, it was the only path they could go, so he'll take his chance to risk it.

 

Revioryx of course noticed his action and chuckled. 

 

"Trying to bring away my prey? You truly are daring, pup."

 

Revioryx slapped Kironinx away and Kironinx's body hit hard on the ground, lifting some dirt into the air.

 

"Brother!" Ziphoteninx yelled in shock.

 

"Save them first!" Kironinx shouted at him while struggling to stand again.

 

His body was trembling because of pain and some green colour liquid slowly trickled down from his mouth. However, even though he's in pain, he still glared at Revioryx. He moved to attack again.

 

"Brother…" 

 

Ziphoteninx whimpered before he repeated his dragging on the children's collar shirt again. A moment later, a swipe of something hit him hard. His body flew to the side and rolled to the ground. When Ziphoteninx opened his closed eyes again, he was shocked to see a spiky tail was picking up Shiroi and Kiroki's bodies. The tail belongs to Revioryx.

 

"Shiroi! Kiroki! Let them go!" 

 

Ziphoteninx snarled and ran to bite the tail. But the tail was so thick that even his fangs couldn't go deeper. He again was thrown away with a flick from the tail movement.

 

"Tsk! Come back again in another thousand years if you want to defeat me. Haha! Finally, now, I can be free from this place!"

 

Revioryx moved Shiroi and Kiroki to his mouth. Ziphoteninx and Kironinx tried to move their painful bodies and unfortunately, they were too late to do anything. They slowly watch as Shiroi and Kiroki were eaten and swallowed by Revioryx.

 

"No!!!"

 

Ziphoteninx and Kironinx's minds were in turmoil. Also, they realised their shouts were followed by other voices from behind them.

 

"You bastard!" 

 

An angel swung his big sabre down toward Revioryx. A multiple electrical shock wave was released from the swing too and hit Revioryx. Revioryx growled but the attack wasn't that painful. 

 

He was just pissed that someone had come to disturb his pleasant time to taste his meals. He glared at the group of angels, Rusilac Beast and Hell's Guardians that had arrived. But, he was delighted to see their shocking expression.

 

"My, my, you are too late. Haha!" Revioryx laughed before he roared.

 

His body rapidly grew and the chain that held his body was rattling in auras. The chains have been enchanted to give a sensation of tremendous pain to him but now… It was breaking one by one. Devouring Shiroi and Kiroki allowed him to have a strong body and more powerful ability.

 

Why did he eat them? 

 

It was because he found out from one of his hidden underlings that the Angel of Fate has declared that there would be two more new leaders of Heaven who will be born soon. He has waited for the news for many thousands of years and until today, he finally gets some clues.

 

Leaders of Heaven normally have their special entrance, either born from lightning, clouds, plants or something bizarre. But only this time, the two new leaders will be born from a pair of angels which can be considered very ordinary. This made most of the Angels confused.

 

How can their leaders be born from a pair of angels? Isn't it supposed to be from nature? Nevertheless, no one can answer them.

 

Revioryx wanted to eat these two new leaders before they grew up and have been watching the angel's children one by one. He waited patiently without his mind falling into anxiety since he desired to be free and make the gods pay for what they have done to him. One day, his underlings told him some children couldn't have wings when they reach three years old. 

 

He had ordered them to see which children were at odds and strangely enough it was these two twins, Shiroi and Kiroki. And they still haven't got their wings until now. 

 

Revioryx took his gamble and ordered his underlings to let Kironinx and Ziphoteninx move away from their parents' watch. They were chosen since he knew the nature of this Rusilac Beast. And let the pups play with their dimensional powers. 

 

When both enter their dimensional portal together, Revioryx's underlings use their power to alternate their destination to arrive in Heaven's area, nearby Shiroi and Kiroki's home. However, some angels found them and wanted to kill them since they were the Rusilac Beast species. 

 

The underlings again used their power to shield them and let them escape toward the path where Shiroi and Kiroki would walk home from their school. After that, everything transpired as Revioryx wanted. He let the Rusilac Beast escape their Beast Dimension, allowing them to sense their children again after they arrived in Heaven. 

 

Later, when the Rusilac Beast and the Cosantóir Team were busy discussing the return of the pups, he predicted that one of the pups would use their dimensional power again and his underlings altered it to arrive in his prison. Finally, his plan bears fruit. 

 

Shiroi and Kiroki were the two new leaders of Heaven!

But, even though they have not manifested their wings yet, their souls already have the power to become the leader of Heaven. If not, how can he feel his power growing rapidly inside of him?

"Sons!" Parlos and Shiney ran to Ziphoteninx and Kironinx.

 

They feel glad their pups were still alive. And went mad when they saw their pups' wounds.

 

"Vagran, take them away from here!" Shiney ordered a black Rusilac beast.

 

"Understood!" 

 

Vagran immediately grabbed the back neck of Kironinx and then Ziphoteninx before he ran to the back of the groups, away from Revioryx. He wanted to use his power to open a dimensional portal to take them away but something prevented him from doing that.

 

"No! No! Let me go! Kiroki is still inside him. He's alive! I need to save him!" Kironinx snarled and struggled against Vagran.

 

Even Ziphoteninx does the same. 

 

"Shiroi! Shiroi!" He howled loudly. 

 

Everyone there could hear their screaming. Zagan and Fina's eyes widened.

 

Their children are still alive!

 

"Everyone, attack him and save the children!" Barrinos ordered his team.

 

"Yes, sir!" 

 

Everyone immediately went for attacks on various elements. The Hell's Guardians also helped them. It was their mistake for not watching over Revioryx. They were idle because they thought Revioryx could not escape his prison but who would have thought he planned something else in silence.

 

While they were trying to make Revioryx open his mouth so they could save the children, the children, Shiroi and Kiroki were in a deep slumber. In each of their dreams, two beings with a body of light and dark with wide wings on their back were talking to them. Their wings were a pattern visible with twinkling universes and stars on them.

 

"Will you accept?" 

 

"Will you be willing to do this?"

 

The light and dark beings asked them.

 

"Yes, I accept!" 

 

"I am willing!"

 

Shiroi and Kiroki replied and looked very serious with their childlike expressions.

 

"Very well. I will give my power to you! Guide everyone in the universe with your momentum. Do not let yourself fall into the darkness nor get yourselves killed by your own power! Do you understand?" The light being said to Shiroi.

 

"Yes!"

 

As for the dark being with Kiroki…

 

"Darkness will always try to lure you into their mischief but remember, you have your twins, family and friends to help you away from them. You must guard yourselves at all times but never waver in your belief. Do you understand?" The dark being told Kiroki.

 

"I understand!"

 

The two beings smiled gently at the children and then turned themselves into balls of light and dark. The balls then flash quickly into Shiroi and Kiroki's bodies, glowing their bodies in their colours.

 

"Don't forget to choose one partner beast to guard you in both your reality and dream. Choose them wisely because this is one chance in your long life to have them." The being's voice sounded in their mind.

 

Shiroi instantly thought of Ziphoteninx and Kiroki of course wanted to choose Kironinx as his partner. Unbeknownst to them, Ziphoteninx and Kironinx's bodies were glowing suddenly when both thought of them. It was actually their desires that made the pup's bodies glow.

 

"Pups?!" 

 

Parlos and Shiney were shocked to see the two of them shrouded in a ball of light and dark. Not just them but everyone there could see it too. Revioryx, who watched it had bad feelings in his heart so he blasted them with a dark fire coming out of his mouth.

 

"No!" 

 

Parlos and Shiney jumped to stop the fire blasts and their bodies were burnt because of it.

 

"Rusilacs!" Zagan and Fina, who got along with them, got anxious and ran to them.

 

"Don't come closer!" Parlos barked fiercely at them. He knew what fire it was and didn't want to let the two come near them.

 

"This is an eternal fire!" Someone who knew the fires shouted in fear.

 

Eternal fire as its name was a fire that would not be distinguished no matter what you do to them. It can only burn the things they hit until they burn to ashes.

 

"No!" Fina shouted in horror. 

 

Tears slowly dropped out of her eyes. Even Zagan 's expression looked so awful and guilty. Shiney, who was bearing the pain of burning fire, saw their expressions and was stunned for a moment. Then, she slowly smiled at them. 

 

These angels are kind beings. They even took care of her pups. Maybe… She could entrust their pups to them.

 

"Please… We can no longer be here… We hope you can protect our pups…" She told them slowly.

 

"No, chief! You can't leave us!" Vagran howled sadly with the rest of the Rusilac Beasts.

 

"Vagran… My pups… They will be your chief now…" Parlos told him and slowly disappeared along with Shiney.

 

Their disappearance made Fina and Zagan, who hugged her tightly, sit down on the ground. Their faces show disbelief.

 

AWOO!!!

 

The pups' sad howls sounded loudly from inside the glowing lights. They realised their parents' presence was gone. And they knew who killed them. Their growing anger allows them to rapidly grow within the lights that shrouded them.

 

Fina, Zagan, and everyone's attention were on them next. The first things that came out of the lights were huge wings. One pair of wings was made of beautiful shining feathers while another pair of wings looked like raven wings, hard and covered in black scales. The wings were in a closed state and slowly opened to let them see the creatures inside.

 

It was supposed to be the pups but they were no longer small like before. Instead, a huge beast like a winged wolf appeared from the opened wings. They still have some resemblance to the Rusilac Beast, which notified them that these were the pups before. However, their huge bodies were on par with Revioryx. 

 

Ziphoteninx and Kironinx's vertical blue gold eyes sharpened and glared at Revioryx.

 

"You kill our parents! You must die! Awoo!!!"
