Chapter 58: CHAPTER 58: THE EMBLEM’S MONSTERS

"Hey, do you guys feel something different about Rafiz and Kairi today?" Agi whispered to Virgo, Aries, Pegasus, and Dark Hartina.

 

Five of them have come earlier to Kairi's room. But, they couldn't find Rafiz in his room. They guessed he might have gone for a morning walk. After they entered the living room, they were surprised to see Kairi and Rafiz were having breakfast together. Such a scene was very strange to them.

 

"Morning," Kairi smiled at them.

 

"Morning," Rafiz uttered it too.

 

All of them raised their eyebrows. The two people who were awkward yesterday seemed to be in a closed relationship today. Not to mention, their voices sounded so casual.

 

"What?" 

 

Kairi and Rafiz looked at them confused since their friends were staring at them.

 

Eyes widened, Pegasus got close to them. 

 

"Kairi, Rafiz is afraid of worms or cockroaches?" He asked suddenly.

 

"Worms!" Kairi replied instantly.

 

Rafiz, who drank his tea, choked on it and coughed hard. He wiped his lips with his arm and glared at Kairi and Pegasus.

 

"What are you doing?" His eyes narrowed at Pegasus.

 

Pegasus shrugged. "Welcome back. It seems impossible but it is possible, huh?" 

 

From his sentences, Virgo, Agi, Aries and Dark Hartina finally understood something.

 

"H, How?!" 

 

Dark Hartina was the most shocking among them.

 

"How, what?" Rafiz stood up and stride toward him slowly.

 

Dark Hartina unconsciously stepped back but his arm was grabbed by Rafiz.

 

"What are you afraid of, Hartina?" Rafiz asked with a playful grin.

 

"I, I…" Dark Hartina stuttering. 

 

His face also suddenly turned pale and showed a guilty expression.

 

SLAP!

 

"What the-...?! Kairi?!" Rafiz yelled in pain while holding his forehead.

 

It seems Kairi had smacked his forehead hard with his right palm and pushed him away from Dark Hartina.

 

"Sorry about that. As you know from our old memories, he does like to threaten people while joking with them." Kairi apologised and glared at Rafiz.

 

Didn't they agree not to do anything to Dark Hartina?!

 

"You, you remember them…? How? Didn't I destroy it at that time?" Dark Hartina looked astonished.

 

Kairi nodded slightly. "You did but thanks to Ziphoteninx and Kironinx, we got our old memories back. You don't have to feel guilty anymore and we have forgiven you. So, what happened in the past stays in the past. You are our friend now, not an enemy."

 

He gives Dark Hartina a gentle smile. The latter was stunned before his eyes slowly formed tears.

 

"Eh? No, no, Hartina, don't cry! Don't cry, please!" Kairi was shocked by the changes.

 

How come Dark Hartina was so easy to cry?! Where was his badass personality before?!

 

"Kairi, you're a bully!" Rafiz labelled him.

 

"It was you who started this!" Kairi pointed his finger at him.

 

Rafiz made a playful gasp. "I didn't say anything that made him cry. It was you… A.L.O.N.E."

 

Kairi's eyes twitched. Well, it was his last sentences that did it. But, Rafiz's sentences irked him. Should he hit him? He contemplated for a moment. Rafiz who guessed his thinking slowly backed away.

 

"Sorry… Sniff!" Dark Hartina wiped his tears with his hands. "Thank god!"

 

He was so relieved that Kairi and Rafiz got their memories back. No longer does he need to feel so remorseful about himself.

 

"Remember not to do that again, okay?" Rafiz told him with a warning from far behind the sofa.

 

His location confused Dark Hartina. But, he replied with a nod of his head. He will never do it to anyone anymore. He vowed silently. 

 

"Kairi, you really Kairi from the past?" Virgo needs to confirm again.

 

"Virgo, I am me always. Although, I looked different now with everything that transpired. Still, my memories reminded me of our time together with everyone here." Kairi chuckled.

 

Aries who also formed tears sniffed. She was glad to hear it. She wipes her tears away and faces Kairi.

 

"Welcome back, Kairi." She smiled.

 

Kairi turned to her. "Yes, thank you, Aries. I would like to speak to you alone later."

 

Aries was startled to hear it. Instantly, her heart was beating faster. She wondered what Kairi wanted to ask her. Did she do something wrong or is it something to do with her feelings? She hopes the latter wasn't the topic they would talk about soon. After all, she has been thinking about forgetting her love for Kairi.

 

Dark Hartina looked at her sadly. He felt guilty about taking her first kiss. Would Kairi be mad if he knew? Wait, it was impossible to hide it from Kairi since he has become powerful.

 

As for Kairi, his expression outside was calm but inside only he knew how fast his heartbeat was. Now that he had his memories and feelings from the past, he already got the answer to his true feelings for her. 

 

But, would she accept it? He knew she loved him but why did he get a vibe that something terrible would happen to them soon? Would it be wise to confess right now?

 

"Alone? Why?" Rafiz who didn't understand asked.

 

"None of your business, brother." Kairi smirks.

 

Rafiz frowned. "Whatever."

 

"Glad to have you back, Kairi, Rafiz. It was really awkward to speak to you two who have changed after we meet again." Agi folded his hands.

 

Kairi nodded. "Aren't we all? You couldn't even recognize me after three years."

 

"Hey, that was because you grew too much. How can you grow more than 10 centimetres after three years?! And Rafiz too! This is absurd!" Agi scowled.

 

Kairi shrugged. He and Rafiz suddenly thought about their other bodies in another realm. Maybe it was because they were tall there? Probably…

 

"Alright, enough. We came here to get you to the knight headquarters. Both of you are ready, right?" Pegasus cut in while looking at Rafiz and Dark Hartina.

Then, he looked at Kairi. "Before that, is it a must to kill them?"

 

Virgo gulped. "Is there no other way?" He really doesn't want to see them die.

 

"Don't worry. They're not actually dying. I'm gonna use a barrier to trap their souls inside their bodies. When the monsters in the emblem can't sense their life essence anymore, they would come out and attack me." Kairi explained.

 

He had changed his last-minute plan. He thought killing them was the best way but it seemed he really didn't use his brain much.

 

"Yeah, you're stupid…" Ziphoteninx's sudden voice chided him.

 

"Shut up! I'm not stupid! I just need some time to think!" Kairi growled.

 

Ziphoteninx and Kironinx have disappeared into the mark on he and Rafiz's wrist again. They have used some energy to relay the past to them and were now resting to get it back. 

 

A moment later, they all move to the training area in the knight headquarters. Leo and other stellar users were already waiting for them. There was no one else except them because Leo didn't want the knights or soldiers to get any heavy casualties, and had ordered them to stay outside the building.

 

"Your Majesty." Leo and Auriga got close to him and bowed.

 

Kairi nodded to them. "Everyone, please do not come close to me, Lynx and Hydra. It may be a little dangerous."

 

"Your Majesty, please be careful," Auriga told him.

 

"I will. Please don't worry."

 

Then, Kairi walked to the middle of the training area followed by Rafiz and Dark Hartina.

 

"Does Your Majesty really have to kill them?" 

 

A woman with light green flowing hair asked a woman with long sparkly blue hair beside her.

 

The latter shook her head. "I hope not, Pisces. But, it seems it must be done to let them change the dark emblem to our stellar's emblem again."

 

"I see. It just feels so painful to die. Aquarius, I feel so sad."

 

Aquarius pats her back." Don't worry. Your Majesty is going to take care of them both." She reassured her.

 

Pisces slowly nodded. They watch the three people in front of them from the audience seat. Their stellar members also took a seat around them and their expressions looked very serious.

 

Kairi took a measure of their distance from the other stellar users. Their distance should be safe now. But, if anything happened he would make a barrier wall to keep them safe. He faced Rafiz and Dark Hartina.

 

He no longer asked if they were ready and snapped his finger. The two were immediately enclosed in two ovals shaped like eggs. With another snap from Kairi, the oval decreased and went into Rafiz and Dark Hartina's bodies.

 

A tremendous pain finally was felt by them before they fainted and fell. But their body didn't fall to the ground because Kairi has used his power to make them float. Everyone who watched it felt strange. 

 

They can feel both Rafiz and Dark Hartina were no longer breathing and such technique was not cruel at all which makes them feel a bit of relief to see. However, huge dark clouds came out quickly from the two emblems that Kairi had given back to Rafiz and Dark Hartina before they arrived there.

 

The clouds roared and rapidly moved to attack Kairi who was close to them. Seeing that, everyone's heartbeat accelerated especially after hearing the sound that was made by the clouds. It was creepy and made some of them shudder in fear.

 

Kairi smirked and with a swing of his right hand, a huge wind blew the cloud away. The cloud dispersed but what appeared next were two ugly monsters that were 15 feet high.

 

One monster looked like a mix of sticky ugly feline that oozed dark green liquid. The drop of the liquids to the ground blackened the spot it fell and sizzled like hot lava. It has six legs, two of them were used as hands and the other four as legs. When it roared, he sprinkled more of his dark liquid around.

 

Another monster looked like a serpent. It has five heads with the necks having many legs like centipedes. Between the legs have space for sharp things like jagged teeth. It was open and closed from time to time. It shrieked at Kairi with madness.

 

Some users there who saw the appearance of those two monsters went pale and some even wanted to puke their stomachs out. The two monsters really looked so terrifying and hideous at the same time.

 

Aries and the other women users were shuddering in fear but their friends immediately stood in front of them. Leo even hugged Perseus' side while Perseus hid her face on him because she was scared of those monsters.

 

"These… These are what the emblem's monsters look like? And there are ten more from the rest? Can they even defeat these monsters?" Virgo thought with widened eyes.

 

"God, if these monsters scared us already, how can we fight Revioryx then? He's the leader of them and a monster too." Agi breathed hard while his body was sweating profusely.

 

Pegasus beside him frowned. He can feel his fingers trembling and balled them into a fist. He cannot be scared. He can't. He took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. His eyes suddenly went to Kairi. Kairi has his back to all of them but…

 

His presence there, facing the monsters alone, finally makes him feel calm. Not just him, the others whose eyes were first watched the monsters unconsciously turn to Kairi's back. Somehow, they felt their fear decreasing and finally calmed down.

 

Their leader's back seemed to give them the courage to face the monsters. Some people realised that before Kairi's appeared, they used to feel Leo was their backup. Now, it has changed to Kairi. 

 

The feelings were different since Leo wasn't their true leader. Only with Kairi, they can finally feel it. Kairi was their strength, belief and hope for their world. To make the world finally at peace again, they need their leader the most. 

 

He was their light!

 

Kairi, who didn't know their complicated feelings, was watching the monsters sternly. He also felt disgusted because these monsters were the ones occupying the emblems and hurt the stellar's spirits.

 

He can't forgive these monsters but first, he must release Rafiz and Dark Hartina's souls. They were behind the monsters and it seemed the monster only focussed on him. They didn't attack him because he had frozen them using his invisible binds.

 

When he snapped his finger, Rafiz and Dark Hartina gasped and slowly awoke. Their faces were pale and breathing hard. But, they realised something was wrong and looked up. They were startled to see the monsters.

 

"Kairi, are these…?" Dark Hartina swallowed. 

 

Especially when he felt the many-headed serpents seemed to connect to him.

 

"Yup! Now, I'll be needing your help to defeat these guys. After all, these were inside your emblems in the first place. As the owner, you two are responsible to defeat them. And make sure to save your stellar spirits. I think they are trapped somewhere in these monsters' bodies." Kairi explained.

 

"Huh? You're not helping?" Rafiz's eyes twitched.

 

Kairi smiled sweetly at him. "Brother, these monsters are easy to defeat. You just need to find the stellar spirits and separate them from these monsters. Once you do that, these monsters will be easy to kill."

 

"Wait, wait, Kairi. Are you leaving us two without a backup?"

 

"I am your backup. Well, when you seriously need me though. Good luck!" 

 

Kairi waved his hands and disappeared. He appeared again below the audience seat where all the users were.

 

"Kairi?!" 

 

Dark Hartina gaped when Kairi left them. Why does he feel that this was Kairi hidden's revenge on him for deleting his memories before?

 

"Kairi!" 

 

Rafiz also called but with anger. He didn't know Kairi wouldn't let go when Kairi got the blame for making Dark Hartina cry just now. After all, Kairi did want to hit him. So, this… Must be his revenge on him.

 

God, his brother has changed after three years! He became playful, knew how to pay back and was mischievous! Who taught him this?!

 

Ziphoteninx who was resting sneezed. 

 

"Hm? Who said my name? Oh, whatever."

 

He closed his eyes and slept again. He was the mastermind who taught Kairi this and that. Who knew Kairi would turn out to be like him.
