Chapter 63: CHAPTER 63: DARK REAMMUT (2)

Dark Reammut watched Dark Kage shoot the dark blue laser beam. She also heard his confusion when he mumbled that Antonia had disappeared. That would be impossible to happen as long as Kairi was there. Then, something flashed up and brightened everything in front of them all.

 

"The enemy is here! Attack!" 

 

Dark Sethan shouted and everyone began to clash with the arrival of Syarantonia armies. Dark Reammut summoned her weapon. A loud sound bombarded near her and she turned to look. She was surprised to see Dark Kage's mechanical cannon was destroyed into pieces and also hear Dark Kage's shrieked scream because his beloved invention was destroyed.

 

"It's the Bright Star's leader!" Someone whose Dark Reammut couldn't pinpoint who told them.

 

She immediately looks up. She almost couldn't recognise Kairi because he has white hair and gold eyes. But, what indicated that he was the leader was his strong power of light and he was floating above them with his right hand aiming at the cannon.

 

Ziphoteninx who was beside Kairi couldn't be seen by them because Ziphoteninx's body has an invisible layer that he doesn't want to show himself yet.

 

"Sorry, this thing is dangerous so I need to destroy it," Kairi told them and his voice sounded playful. 

 

"Now, let us end this once and for all, shall we?" 

 

While he was saying it, his palms appeared with a few circle lines and all of them were spinning fast into a ball shape. The ball sizzles and also glows brightly. 

 

Kairi smirks at his enemies. "Ever heard of a supernova? No. Then, see it for yourself."

 

"Kairi, are you really going to throw that thing?!" Ziphoteninx's eyes widened.

 

He was shocked that Kairi would use that attack.

 

"Why not? Decreasing their number is a must in this war so we can end this early. Don't worry. I'm just going to teleport them somewhere. Hehehe. Somewhere it'll be hard to return home."

 

Kairi smiled evilly and his friend who was looking from below had a bad feeling from his expression. They saw him throw the ball of light at one group of armies.

 

A blast sounded at the place the ball of light hit. It was a huge explosion louder than the destroyed mechanical cannon. The explosion also sent a gust of huge wind while carrying black smoke towards its surroundings. 

 

Dark Reammut's ears were ringing because of the loud sound. She could hear the screaming from some soldiers near her while holding on to a tree. The gust of wind almost flew her away. 

 

When the situation became calm again, she was stunned to see an area where the ball hit. Nothing was there anymore, not the soldiers or the trees. There was only a large black hole. 

 

Dark Reammut gritted her teeth because half of her soldiers also were gone.

 

"Kill him first!" Dark Ceilius snarled while throwing many shards of ice at Kairi.

 

Kairi didn't move and a red crystal shield appeared to protect him. Behind the shield, three more same colour crystals were duplicated from it. Four of them move to circle Kairi.

 

"Argh! I hate that shield!" Dark Howlan growled.

 

The crystals were the ones that electrified him when he fought with Kairi before. He jumped and flew at Kairi to fight him. But he was stopped by someone else.

 

"Your rival is me, Dark Howlan. I'm going to pay back what you did to my half and my friends." 

 

A young man told him and around his neck has an emblem chain with a Gemini carving.

 

"Grr! Go away!" Dark Howlan was irritated because he was stopped.

 

He summoned fire in the air and threw it at Gemini, the young man. 

 

Gemini chuckled. "Have you forgotten my abilities? Then, let me show you once more." 

 

Gemini disappeared. Combining his Ini and Gem's power of speed and invisibility, he smacked Dark Howlan with a kick to his neck. Dark Howlan was too late to protect himself and fell hard to the ground.

 

Gemini combined abilities almost on par with Dark Reammut's ability to control time. Dark Reammut flew to face him.

 

"Huh? It seems we finally met, Time Controller." Gemini said to him.

 

Dark Reammut stares at him. "I always want to see whether your abilities are stronger than mine or mine are."

 

"Sure. Let's compare then." Two of them disappeared instantly.

 

Kairi watched everyone fight. His eyes dimmed when splashes of red covered the battlefield. Suddenly, he felt a call from a stellar beast and disappeared. Ziphoteninx, who was left behind, squinted his eyes. 

 

"It seems one more member of Bright Star will return today… Oh, Rafiz and Hartina have met their targets!" Ziphoteninx coincidentally glanced at one area.

 

"What the hell?! You return to their side again, Dark Lordany?!" Dark Sethan snapped.

 

Rafiz suddenly ambushed him and then he realised that Rafiz was helping their enemies.

 

"You truly are not learning your lesson, huh? And who are you?" Dark Spincer shook his head first before he turned to Dark Hartina.

 

Dark Hartina raised one eye. "Have you forgotten me that fast, Dark Spincer? I am hurt."

 

"Dark Hartina?!" Dark Sethan and Dark Spincer were shocked. 

 

They still recognise Dark Hartina's voice but never thought that Dark Hartina would change into a normal man. They felt like they were dreaming.

 

Dark Hartina's eyes twitched. He knew what they were thinking about him.

 

"Whatever."

 

He summoned his new bows made of light that he used to save Hydra before and directed at them. Dark Sethan and Dark Spincer's eyes darkened. Such action and the new weapon already show enough on which side Dark Hartina had chosen now.

 

"I don't understand. What changed your mind? Did you get something for betraying us?" Dark Spincer still wanted to know the reason.

 

"Truthfully, I would like to explain to you everything I know but right now, I don't think you trust me anymore. So, I'm just going to fight you." Dark Hartina jumped up and let go of his light arrows on them.

 

Rafiz also went to attack them. His two blades have also changed to a new type of blade. One was made of silver blade and aquamarine holders and another one was made of diamond blade and purple holders. The two blades were twinkling in glowing stars. He slashed them at Dark Sethan and Dark Spincer.

 

"Hey, did you see their emblems?" Dark Spincer asked Dark Sethan after he dodge the slash.

 

He noticed the emblems' chain around Rafiz and Dark Hartina's neck were no longer the dark emblems.

 

"Huh? Who cares about that! Focus!" Dark Sethan growled and repelled Rafiz's attack.

 

Still, Dark Spincer wanted to take a closer look once he had his chance of course. For now, he better think about how to kill these two for betraying them.

 

"Damn it!" Dark Reammut growled angrily.

He and Gemini's powers were on par and it was hard for her to make her time domain when Gemini escaped her domain's range.

 

"Stop running away!" She screamed angrily.

 

Gemini didn't appear but his voice sounded around her. 

 

"Why should I? You're just going to capture me anyway."

 

Dark Reammut's eyes blazed but she didn't know where Gemini was. Unexpectedly, she saw Rafiz and Dark Hartina fighting with Dark Sethan and Dark Spincer nearby. Her eyes widened after she noticed their white emblems.

 

"Wha, What? Why is it almost the same as my dream?!" She thought in shock.

 

She had dreamed of her power emblem turning white like them while the monster carving on her emblem changed to a bird. Not only that, the bird often appeared in her dreams, calling to her to save it. 

 

But, the thing that made those dreams turn into a nightmare was a huge headless skeleton monster with six-wing bones appeared. The monster also had long canine teeth protruding from its stomach to the outside that oozes black slimy things. Its legs were long but the ends were not feet. Instead, the feet were the monster heads with black eyes that were flowing with red liquid. 

 

And the bird that needed her help was caged behind the headless skeleton monster's back. The bird was chained all over and it could not move. It also looked so weak and whimpered in pain. 

 

Dark Reammut's hardened heart softened. But what made her angry was her body in the dream went to rescue it without making a plan first. In the end, she was killed brutally by the monster.

 

The scene repeated again when she slept the next day. The strange thing was that her action this time was different. In the first dream, she slid under the monster and was bitten by the two heads. In the second dream, she jumped first but was slashed by the monster's wings bone into a meaty piece.

 

The two times had her vomited all her stomach out after she woke up. By the third time, she has prepared herself and still saw her gruesome death. And everyone wondered why she looked pale and had black circles under her eyes. She couldn't help remembering those nightmares.

 

Yet, those nightmares also were a good thing. It increases her senses toward her surroundings while being more vigilant during her fight. For proof, it happened when she was training with Dark Chronos.

 

Dark Chronos couldn't have a chance to sneak attack her and was defeated in the blink of his eyes. He thought she had trained in secret and she called him an idiot. Secret training wouldn't have her die many times. It was her nightmare's fault.

 

Currently, on the battlefield, Rafiz and Dark Hartina's white emblems reminded her of her nightmare. She leaned against a tree and closed her eyes because she felt a sudden headache.

 

Gemini thought it was his chance to attack her but Kairi's voice in his head stopped him.

 

"Please help the others, Gemini. Leave her to me."

 

"Understood, Your Majesty." Gemini without asking why disappeared somewhere.

 

Kairi turned to Dark Reammut.

 

"The beast is calling you..." He said to her gently.

 

Dark Reammut's eyes snapped open and looked at him.

 

"It's you?!" She summoned her weapon out and went to attack him immediately.

 

But, she stumbled to the ground when the childlike voice sounded in her mind. It was the bird voice.

 

"No! Don't attack him!" 

 

The pleading makes her head hurt more.

 

"Urgh! Shut up!" She yelled before she slowly stood up.

 

She can't miss her chance to kill Kairi. He was their biggest enemy. 

 

Kairi sympathised with her because he could feel her pain.

 

"Didn't you dream of the Tucana Spirit beast? You are blaming me, huh? But three years ago, I had neither energy nor consciousness when you wanted to kill me. Do you think I can use my power and curse you at that time? Think again… Tucana." Kairi called her stellar name.

 

"Who are you calling Tucana?! I am not Tucana!" Dark Reammut throws the clock's needle from her harp at Kairi.

 

Kairi grabs it when he avoids it and throws it back to her. With a swing of her harp, the clock's needle went back into its place in her harp. When she wanted to attack again, Kairi suddenly appeared in front of her. Her instinct that sharpened from her nightmares dodges Kairi's arm that wants to grab her throat. 

 

Her left leg swung to Kairi's side but Kairi jumped back and used a gravity power under her. Using her power of time, she escapes his attack. Kairi was impressed with her quick thinking and reflexes.

 

"Enough, Tucana. I don't want to fight you. Don't you want to rescue the bird in your dream?" He asked her.

 

Dark Reammut eyes glinted. Her eyes show suspicion toward him.

 

"I can send you there but everything that happens will be your responsibility."

 

"Tsk! Who wants to go into that place! I've been killed so many times there!"

 

Kairi smiled sadly at her. "I know... And you cannot stop the dream until you rescue the spirit beast."

 

Dark Reammut growled.

 

What does this Bright Star's leader want from her? Talking to her so gently, is this a trap he made for her? Dark Reammut became more vigilant.

 

"Look at your dark emblem and tell me what monster you saw is carved on it."

 

Dark Reammut was startled. She didn't want to look at it but… Now that someone asked her to do it, she finally realised that she had never once taken a good look at her emblem's monster carving before. She hates the emblem since she got it from her aunt. Now, Kairi's words make her heart suddenly race nervously. 

 

Could… Could it be the monster in her nightmare… was the same as her emblem…?

 

Kairi saw her surprised expression and didn't say anything more. He was just waiting for her to take the step on her own. And he waited for a long time before Dark Reammut slowly looked at her emblem. Her expression turned to anguish. She felt like she was cheated. By whom? She didn't want to guess it…

 

She looked back at Kairi. "This won't happen if I don't meet you! Ah, I don't want to believe this!" 

 

Kairi nodded agreeably. "True. Yet, you have to. By the way, I'm not the one that causes you to have such a nightmare. And my question to you now is… Why would the monster disturb you since then? And which one is the real beast who owns the emblem?"

 

Dark Reammut looked at Kairi like she wanted to eat him. Because of him, her thoughts were so confused after hearing his question. She actually knew the answer. And that answer would change everything she knew since she lived.

 

"Tucana, the power you thought you knew about is just an illusion made by your king. But, you can only find the truth once you have rescued your true spirit beast. I can't help you with your spirit beast but I can show you the place where he is in your emblem. Go to him and free your true stellar power. I believe you can." Kairi said softly then released a bright aura surrounding his body.

 

Dark Reammut didn't have a chance to protest. When she blinked her eyes, she was no longer on the battlefield. Instead, she was in a dark abyss. In the abyss, there was one being that made her entire body tremble.

 

"Kairi, I hate you!!!" She screams and cries internally.

 

Moreover, what kind of leader are you?! Sending your own formal stellar member to fight alone with their carved monster?!

 

At least, let her be ready first!
