Chapter 65: CHAPTER 65: CHANGES IN WAR

"Urgh, damn it! This is all your fault! Look! You made my armour heavy and wet!" Dark Reammut scolded angrily at Dark Chronos. 

 

She opened her armour plate one by one to have it dry near the fire Dark Chronos had made. Her armour was overflowing with stagnant water when she flipped it. Dark Chronos smiled and didn't say anything. 

 

He was busy swallowing his saliva. He finally saw the true shape of her body which made his imagination run wild. After all, Dark Reammut never once wears normal clothes. She always had that armour clasped to her body since it was customary for any generals to wear one. It was so that they could be ready for any battle.

 

His mouth was salivating continuously and he had to swallow it many times. He never knew Dark Reammut's skin and legs were as pale as snow. Dark Reammut also does not have a lot of fat content other than her strong muscles in the arms, stomach and legs. 

 

Even so, her body was indeed a woman but if she wears her armour, others who don't recognize her would mistakenly think she was a feminine man. This made him unable to look anywhere other than to observe Dark Reammut. In his view, she looks very sexy and stunning.

 

Dark Reammut opened her last protector on her left leg. Now only her black undergarment was left. She felt irritated when she heard Dark Chronos gulping again. So, he turns to him with a murderous glare.

 

"What are you looking at?! Haven't you ever seen a woman's body before?! And what are you spacing out for?! Quickly dry your armour so we can return to the battlefield!" She commanded him angrily, causing him to quickly open his armour and almost stumble to the ground.

 

Dark Reammut shook her head and didn't think the scene was funny. She put her armour one by one near the fire. She only had to dry it for a while because she didn’t want her armour to be too hot for her to wear. 

 

But deep in her mind, she was conscious of Dark Chronos seeing her like this openly. This was the first time she saw his desirable look for her.

 

Could it be that Dark Chronos was frustrated after not releasing it once before the battlefield?

 

As a man, it would be impossible for Dark Chronos to hold his needs. But, why does Dark Chronos always like to hang around her so much? Doesn't he have a lot of women who wanted him to bed them?

 

Ever since she knew him, she realised that Dark Chronos would stare at her almost every time they met or were nearby. In fact, the desired look that Dark Chronos gave her was known to almost everyone in Luguom City.

 

This was because Dark Chronos never hid it. He once heard Dark Chronos praise her with various things that made her ego go high but also embarrassed her to her core. No one pays more attention to her other than Dark Chronos.

 

Eventually, after a long time, she realised that Dark Chronos liked her. But she could feel it towards other people too. But their look was more to lust than Dark Chronos' affection which she categorised as like for her.

 

When he thought about it, Dark Chronos had not yet told her anything about his feelings. Only his actions show her. Yet, the problem was that she had no feelings for him. 

 

She sighed heavily. She wished Dark Chronos would stop liking her because she felt that his feelings were a problem that would cause complications for her later on. She has no desire to be a couple or have one. So, if one day Dark Chronos ever conveyed his feelings, she would firmly refuse.

 

Suddenly, her head felt pain and she sat on the ground abruptly. Tucana's call for help and the monster screech was heard again in her mind. Dark Chronos who saw her situation immediately approached her.

 

"Dark Reammut, are you okay?" He asked nervously.

 

Dark Reammut held her head as she slapped aside Dark Chronos' hand that touched her shoulder.

 

"I'm okay." 

 

Dark Reammut replied even though she felt guilty after he saw his hurt expression for pushing his hand away. However, his expression only lasted a few seconds before it disappeared under his serious complexion.

 

"Are you sure? Otherwise, I'll take you back to Dark Undria."

 

"Yes, I'm sure. Hurry up and put your armour back on. I think it's dry already." 

 

Dark Reammut looked elsewhere after seeing Dark Chronos only wearing short pants on his body. She couldn't deny that Dark Chronos' body type belonged to someone muscular and strong. Not only that, Dark Chronos was also taller than her while she only reached below his chest.

 

Stop looking at him! She chided herself.

 

Dark Chronos put on his armour again. She followed after him while scolding her thoughts. Once ready, Dark Chronos approached her. She nodded to him and then flew up but Dark Chronos grabbed her right hand. She stagnated in the air and turned to him with a strange look.

 

"What?" She asked him.

 

She also was confused when Dark Chronos gave her an indescribable expression. Shortly, her eyes widened. Dark Chronos had kissed her lips quickly before he let go both of her lip and her hand. 

 

Dark Chronos could see her body had stiffened up and chuckled but his expression shows otherwise. It was full red from his ear to his cheek. Then, he sighed dejectedly before looking at her seriously.

 

"I've known for a long time that you also know my feelings..." He slowly said.

 

"Huh?"

 

"My feelings, you've known for a long time and I can also feel that you can't accept it. So, this is the only thing I want from you before I stop bothering you with it."

 

Dark Reammut started to get angry. She feels she was used and thrown away after he had his fill.

 

"Erk! Wait a minute! I haven't finished yet!" 

 

Dark Chronos began sweating when he saw the fierce and dark aura coming out of Dark Reammut's body.

 

"I mean! Maybe this is the last time I got to see you. I can feel something bad is going to happen. So, before anything happens to me, I want something that can remind me of you. And I don't think I can forget how I feel. But in time… No, I can't. That's impossible." 

 

Dark Chronos shook his head and looked into Dark Reammut's eyes. "I don't want to forget my feelings for you. The kiss… I want it because it will be something I cherish before I die." He told her honestly in the end.

 

Dark Reammut's anger vanished instantly. But she narrowed her eyes on him. She suddenly pulled his armour collar to her and returned his kiss while doing it deeply. 

 

Dark Chronos' eyes widened and he panted heavily when Dark Reammut released him a few minutes later. He never could have imagined that she would take the initiative to kiss him and it was a french kiss for goodness sake! 

 

He felt like he was dreaming and lost in her existence once more.

 

"You won't die as long as I'm alive, Dark Chronos. So you better stop thinking about this nonsense!" She let go of his collar while pushing him violently away. 

 

Then, she turned around and flew away. Dark Chronos stares at her back. A moment later, his mouth let out a goofily laugh. 

 

Does that mean Dark Reammut likes him too? 

 

He was so excited about it. But, he stopped his silly expression quickly after he realised she had gone far away from him. The two returned to the battlefield once more. But, as soon as they arrived, Dark Reammut breathed caught in her throat. Her expression shows horror and terror.

 

"Wha, What is that thing?!" Dark Chronos shouted.

 

His eyes were staring at something so huge and black all over. He had the same expression as Dark Reammut beside him. Their eyes saw a black monster that was in the middle of the battlefield. 

 

It was the size of a mountain. They also could see it was flipping its thorn tail to some area that its tail could reach. And the tail also hit everyone from the two sides, killing them instantly.

 

"Guys!" Someone shouted and was flying toward them.

 

"Dark Lusophia, what is that thing?! Where did it come from?!" Dark Reammut immediately asked her.

 

Dark Lusophia looked a little hesitant to say, making them feel a bit strange.

 

"That's… Our king. Dark Revier!" She finally told them.

 

"What?!" Dark Reammut and Dark Chronos were shocked to hear it.

 

"We don't know how he became like that but we heard screaming from the leader of the Bright Star, Kairi, if I'm not mistaken his name though. Me and Dark Gomy were fighting with Orion and Cetus when we all heard it. Orion and Cetus rushed to him and we chased after them. Then, we saw our king was biting Kairi's neck. I think he had absorbed Kairi's power because soon after, he turned into a monster." Dark Lusophia narrated her story.

"What happened to Kairi then?" 

 

Somehow, Dark Reammut was unhappy after learning Kairi was attacked. He knew who Kairi was to her but she can't accept it right now.

 

"Dark Hartina, who had betrayed us with Dark Lordany, Leo and Gemini, freed him from our king bite. They combined their powers and released them to him. Yet, our king was not hurt at all. Still,  the attack made him loosen his bite on Kairi and Gemini caught him before he brought him to Aquila. Then, the three of them disappeared. The injury on his neck looked very severe though. I think he might die soon, which I'm no longer sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing now that our king is no longer a human. He even attacked us too."

 

"God, what turn of events is this?!" Dark Chronos felt unbelievable.

 

"Our king is crazy right now. Do you think it's because he sucks Kairi's power?" Dark Spincer appeared along with the rest of the other Deorc Star users.

 

Dark Kurumi also was there but Rafiz and Dark Hartina were not since they were not in the same team anymore. Only Dark Kurumi stays behind because he still needs to ensure these people live and not die in Revioryx's hands.

 

"Now is not the time to chat! We must mobilise our surviving soldiers to leave this place. Dark Kage has ready the teleportation to Dorothia at the treatment camp. Hurry and gather our soldiers there. We will teleport them back to Dorothia!" Dark Undria directed them. 

 

He came to the battlefield when he saw the monster from the treatment tent and was shocked to feel the same aura of their king from the monster. Then, he realised, their soldiers were attacked along with their enemy's soldiers by it. 

 

He could no longer stay calm and went to find the other generals. He needs their help to teleport their soldiers home. They can't stay here anymore.

 

Now, he urges them to help him. Everyone immediately agreed. The situation was no longer a suitable time to fight with their enemies. Their soldiers need them. Then, they disappeared one by one.

 

"Hurry and go to the treatment camp! Dark Kage and Dark Undria will take you back to Dorothia!" Dark Reammut shouted to her group of soldiers that she found.

 

They obeyed her instructions and ran towards the treatment camp while bringing their injured and still alive comrades. Dark Reammut flew away to look for other soldiers. She found two of their enemy soldiers alive but badly wounded in one corner. Her body moved to leave but her steps slowly stopped.

 

"Please… Help them..." Tucana said in her head.

 

"Urgh… Damn it!" Dark Reammut held her head which started to ache again.

 

She closed her eyes and when she opened them again, she appeared in the same spot where she collided with the headless skeleton monster. She no longer fears it but was angrier that she has returned back.

 

"Raaaarghhh!!!" 

 

The monster roared when it found Dark Reammut was there again. It immediately went to bite her with its two heads.

 

Dark Reammut jumped back while dodging them. Her eyes went to the cage embedded behind the monster. She summoned her harp clock and picked the clock hands. The harp floated up beside her while she grabbed the clock hands that had changed to a longsword. 

 

Then, she flew toward the monster and dodge the toxic fluid that was oozing from the monster's stomach. She needs to get to the Tucana Spirit beast this time and free it.

 

Previously, she had accidentally got herself drenched in the monster's toxic liquid. It burns her skin and pains her so much that she screams aloud. She was relieved when something like a longsword with a star holder fell in front of her and caused a gust of wind that vanished the liquid on her. But the injuries didn't heal.

 

Her body had slumped on the ground while holding the pain and she saw the longsword preventing the monster from approaching her. She didn't understand where the longsword came from but could see something like a thread on top of the sword that connected to the cage behind the monster. 

 

After closing her eyes, she realised her breath was getting tighter. And after she opened them, she saw Dark Chronos patting her cheek.

 

Now, once again, she was in this abyss. She managed to get on the back of the monster again. Her tons of getting kill experiences in her dreams strengthened her dodging skill. 

 

She slashed her weapons at the cage causing it to crack slightly. She gasped because it was very surprising. Although she never once ever got close to the cage, not even in those nightmares, but it seems the cage was very vulnerable to her attack.

 

"Can I possibly destroy it?" She thought while swiftly swinging her longswords at the cage again.

 

The cage cracked more and more. However, the monster was angry and became more aggressive. It shakes its body at first to throw away Dark Reammut on its back but later changes to rolling his back on the ground. 

 

Dark Reammut had to move away but her movement, which was a little slower than before, was hit by one of the wing bones.

 

"Gargh!"

 

Dark Reammut yelled out when she fell to the ground but she pushed herself up and rolled away from the wing bones next attack. She didn't want to die yet. So, she used her hands to jump into the air and dodge the monster's mouth.

 

When she dodge the monster's mouth that was trying to eat her, she threw one of her longswords toward the cage. The cage eventually shattered and released a very strong light. 

 

Dark Reammut flew away from the monster's body and landed on the ground again while raising her hand to her eyes. She squinted at the strong light. When the light disappeared, she was surprised because the headless skeleton monster was no longer anywhere except for an egg that appeared to replace it. The egg was the size of her two arms and was floating before falling slowly toward her.

 

"Huh?" She was stunned but her hands moved to capture the egg.

 

The eggshell has a strange unique pattern. Dark Reammut's eyes widened when the eggshell cracked slowly as soon as she held it. Then, she saw something coming out of the egg and floated up while the eggshell vanished. 

 

Three pairs of wings fluttered in front of her eyes before they lifted into the air. A strange beast like a Tucana bird but bigger with six wings opened its shiny dark green eyes that sparkled while looking at her gently. Its body was a colour of white, blue and green with a gold amulet on its forehead. Its tail was long like a peacock.

 

"Thank you..." The beast told her.

 

Dark Reammut wasn't surprised by the voice. "You are Tucana? And the one who was screaming in my head all this time, right?" Dark Reammut asked while starting to get angry.

 

The beast chuckled. "Yes. I am Tucana, your Stellar Spirit beast. I have called you so many times to set me free. But, it seems that you ignored my call until you were forced by our master of stellars."

 

"Master?"

 

"Kairi, the one you hate the most. He's the master of all spirit beasts."

 

Dark Reammut's eyes twitched. She really wishes she hadn't met him but… It was impossible if you are a formal Bright Star user. And she guessed Kairi would still come to her sooner or later if they hadn't met before.

 

"I don't understand something. How can I become one of you in the first place?"

 

"That's a wrong question. It should be how you become a Deorc Star user…"

 

Dark Reammut doesn't like the sound of it. There must be a lot of things she doesn't know. Tucana doesn't give her a chance to escape from listening to him. Instead, he showed her the past while their surroundings changed. She was surprised to see someone like herself.

 

Tucana slowly shows her what happened like Hydra shows Dark Hartina his past. At the end of the show, she collapsed to the ground with disbelief in her eyes.

 

"Tucana, only you and Hydra could clearly see your own past life because Hydra has the power of memories. The event was recorded from his spirit beast to him. While you, you can go to the past or the future because you have the power of time. However, you can't change your past life or the future since it would change everything in the current time. If you still don't trust me you can go ask Hydra about it." Tucana told her.

 

He even called her true stellar name.

 

"Hydra...?"

 

"He's the one you call Dark Hartina."

 

Dark Reammut finally understood how Rafiz and Dark Hartina have the white emblems. It must be because they have defeated their emblem's monsters and freed their true spirit beast.

 

"So, what do I have to do now? I can't leave the Deorc Star yet when everyone else is still there."

 

"Then, you must try to persuade them to leave before Revioryx kills them. If you feel you are ready to sacrifice yourselves for everyone and even swear your allegiance to our true master of stellars, call my name and I will give you all my power."

 

Those were Tucana's last sentences before he made Dark Reammut return to the battlefield again. She looked around before lifting her emblem chain. It is still black but the carving of the pattern has changed to Tucana. In other words, she still hasn’t gotten her real stellar power.
