Chapter 73: CHAPTER 73: GROUPING

"Revioryx attacked Luguom Palace and all the people there including all the Deorc Star users. Dark Undria and Dark Markia were dead and the others had left Dorothia as soon as the palace was destroyed. I was able to return here due to Dark Kage's teleportation device." Dark Kurumi explained.

 

Now, he and everyone from the Bright Star users have gathered in the meeting chamber with Kairi sitting at the head table in the middle between Leo and Auriga. Only Pegasus wasn't around which confused some users. They couldn't ask because they were in a serious meeting right now. Moreover, they forget him after listening to the shocking news.

 

As for Dark Kurumi's presence there, no one questions it since they notice his white emblem has a carving in Draco Stellar Spirit beast. He didn't wear it around his neck but clipped it to his left shoulder. It was his identity to tell them he was one of them. 

 

Only, he could feel Leo's glare at him. He feels the reason was probably because he controlled Perseus before. So, he ignored Leo and didn't make eye contact with him. It's not like he won't apologise but he didn't harm his wife at all. 

 

He did nothing wrong though… So, why is Leo still mad at him?

 

Kairi knew what transpired between them and just smiled silently. Then, he looked at everyone.

 

"I think everyone has an inkling why he did that, right? He seems to target our stellar family members to weaken us. Because of that, I want to hear your opinions on what we need to do before I give my own. I don't want you all to feel that I'm forcing you. So, does anyone want to say anything first?" He asked them.

 

"Your Majesty," Auriga got up from his seat while bowing his head at Kairi.

 

Kairi nodded to him, allowing him to speak up.

 

"I think the problem we need to solve now and take a measure is Dorothia's residents. We need to rescue them. I know some of you will feel remorse to do it." 

 

Auriga state it while noticing some users were frowning or making disliking expressions after listening to him. But, he still continued his reason.

 

"After all, they have been our enemies for hundreds of years but there are still residents who are innocent like their children. Yet, I think they have become like that because they trusted Revioryx too much and had to follow his wish because he is their king. Right now, I am certain they no longer trust him. So, it may make it easier for us to rescue them. What do you think, Your Majesty?"

 

"I'm thinking the same as you, Auriga. Rescuing them is a must." Kairi agreed.

 

"That's right! If they still want to follow him again it is their will. We won't force them." Cancer said.

 

"So, what do we have to do?" Gemini asked since he still doesn't know the plan to rescue them from Revioryx.

 

"Tsk! Why do we have to save them? It is their own fault for following that monster." Eridanus harrumphed.

 

He doesn't want to save their enemy. If it wasn't because of them, he wouldn't have lost his family members. After all, he still wants to have his revenge on someone from the Deorc Star user.

 

"Eridanus, I understand how you felt but now is not the time to think whether they are our enemies or not. They need our help." Aries stares at him with a sad expression.

 

She knew what happened to Eridanus' family but she couldn't choose to just watch Dorothia residents be killed. Eridanus didn't answer her and looked down.

 

"Erm… I think some of us may have forgotten what we want for the future."

 

Everyone turns their head to Agi.

 

"Didn't we want a peaceful world without war? This is our chance to do that. If we make Dorothia our allies, everyone in the world will no longer live in fear. So, think about it. Do you want your revenge or the peace of the world first? I'm not lying that I am still angry with them but after knowing Revioryx is the one who is the mastermind for all this disaster, I think I can forgive them… For a bit." 

 

Some of them huffed or chuckled from his last sentences. It seems what Agi said may be correct.

 

"Haha. I guess that's that. I agree to do this rescue mission." Virgo stood up.

 

Agi, Aries, Rafi, and Dark Hartina follow after him to stand up too. A while later, everyone did the same, even Eridanus who still had no decision but was forced to stand up by Libra and Cygnus on each side of him. He could only groan and mutter a 'fine'.

 

Kairi smiled while nodding at them. He also stood up.

 

"You will face danger when you rescue them and I may not be able to help you since my power is out for a while. Do you still want to go?" He wants to confirm with them once more.

 

Everyone looked at him with determination. Several of them even nodded at him.

 

"Truthfully, I am worried about you guys. What's more, we don't know what Revioryx is planning by killing his own people. There are a lot of questions that come to my mind. And one of them is… What if the killing he did was just to trap us when we go there?" He asked them.

 

Some were startled by his question. Now that they think about it, Kairi was right too.

 

Kairi released a sigh. His people were still so straightforward without knowing the real danger they might face. So, he sternly looked at them.

 

"Just a reminder, I can't go there because of lack of power and I also won't know anything that will happen to you but… I can only hope and pray for your safety. May the God of Protection be with you." 

 

Kairi looked devastated and frustrated but he still told them his true thoughts. He also silently told them that they were very important to him.

 

"Your Majesty, we will do our best to not die! Everyone, if you think you can't handle the situation or danger that may befall you, escape with everything you have, understand?!" Leo stares at them while ordering them.

 

"Yes, sir!!!" They all replied loudly, giving a little encouragement and resolution to their heart and mind.

 

They must not die until they defeat Revioryx!

 

"Good! Now that everyone has agreed, let me make a group for you. I've listed according to your ability and the right members for your group so don't question why you who were together before must be separated. Trust me, it is for your own benefit too. Moreover, I can't let all of you go. Who would protect this place then?" Kairi grins at them.

 

Huh? Why did they feel Kairi was smiling mischievously? Is it their imagination?

 

Everyone was waiting for his announcement with a pounding heart. This was the first time they will break up with each other and work with members who are not familiar with them.

 

"The first is the member who can't go because of her circumstances which don't allow it. Perseus, sorry, you have to wait here." Kairi looked at Perseus.

 

Perseus replied with a nod and a smile. "It's okay, Your Majesty. I understand and really appreciate your decision."

 

Leo beside her was glad that his wife will stay. He glanced at her stomach and caressed her one hand gently.

 

"Next, the first group that will be with me here. Aries, Virgo, Cancer, and Gemini. The second group is Rafiz, Hydra, Kironinx, Eridanus, and Cetus. The third group, Leo, Lyra, Aquarius, Cygnus, and Ziphoteninx. The fourth group, Auriga, Aquila, Orion, Agi, and Canis. The last group is Pisces, Draco, Centaurus, and Libra." Kairi told them all in one breath.

 

"Huh what?! Kairi, why did you involve me and make me stay away from you?!" 

 

Ziphoteninx appeared above them while floating. He was startled by Kairi's decision.

"I'm sorry, Ziphoteninx. Right now, my group will be here and I need you to help the others. We truly are short-handed, you know. Rather than you doing nothing and just watching over me, why not go help the others out?" Kairi asks him.

 

"...  Fine…" Ziphoteninx sighs and disappears once more.

 

Everyone just looks at the two without commenting on anything. It seems the third group was truly the strongest one since it included Leo in it.

 

"I know you won't feel comfortable with your group members that you are unfamiliar with but this is for safety measure if you run into problems later. I make sure each group has members who can heal and also members who can use teleportation. Draco, can your teleportation device still be used?" He turned to Dark Kurumi.

 

Dark Kurumi nodded. "It can still be used four more times."

 

Dark Kage told him and others before that it can be used six times and he only used two. One to Dorothia and another to return here. And he realises that this teleportation device can take him anywhere he has been to which makes him feel strange. It was almost on par with Aquila's ability. 

 

He wonders how Dark Kage creates these devices. He only saw six small power stones embedded around the device. Two of them have lost their lustre which tells him that the stones have lost their energy. 

 

So mysterious…

 

"Who invented that device? It's amazing because it can use teleportation like Aquila. Did Deorc Stars users use that to come here?" Cygnus asked him.

 

"Dark Kage was its creator and yes, they used it to come here. For your information, he was the one who invented the big cannon that wanted to destroy Antonia before." Dark Kurumi explained.

 

"God! He's too awesome!" Virgo gasped.

 

Some snapped their heads at him with a glare.

 

"Don't you mean dangerous?" Agi rolled his eyes at him.

 

"Ah, sorry…" Virgo makes himself small from all their staring.

 

"Haha. Truly, he is both dangerous and amazing. Because of his invention, I had to bury us all and Antonia in this hole." Kairi chuckled.

 

To get out of there, the construction workers had to build stairs for them to go up to the surface.

 

"Wait a minute. Now we are mentioning the Deorc Star users. Except for Dark Chronos, Dark Undria and Dark Markia, aren't the rest, are our stellar family members? Doesn't that mean… Dark Kage is one of us?" Cygnus' eyes twitched.

 

Some users thought the same too and then, they all were confused.

 

"Draco, Lynx, Hydra, how come Dark Undria and Dark Markia have powers? They even have emblems too." Agi asked them.

 

He didn't mention Dark Chronos because he was a fallen angel. Of course, he has powers.

 

"We're not sure either." Dark Hartina shrugged.

 

"Correct." Rafiz and Dark Kurumi also don't know.

 

Everyone was silent for a moment. They were thinking about those two people. They look at Kairi when he claps his hands to take their attention.

 

"Alright, there's no need to think further. Both of them are dead now. So, let's start the rescue mission. By the way, if you come across any of the Deorc Star users who don't believe they are one of us, you can use all force to apprehend them!" Kairi grins at them before he gets serious.

 

"Their lives are most likely in danger. If Revioryx attacks them, it only means they are the real target he wants to kill. Make sure they don't die in his hands. Willing or not, get them here, understand?"

 

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

 

His orders somewhat relieved some people who wanted revenge on the Deorc Star users. Clearly, they can't kill the members of the Deorc Star users but they can capture them. Which… If they resist, a match will arise and will probably thrill them if they can defeat these hateful members of theirs.

 

Unbeknownst to them, Kairi actually told them to do that because he knows they still have a lot of grudges. With this, perhaps their revenge will be subsided a little after they succeed or fail to defeat the members of the Deorc Star. He feels sympathetic to both parties.

 

After that, he ordered them to disperse. The remaining members were his group which included Aries, Virgo, Gemini, and Cancer.

 

"Kairi, can I ask you something?" Virgo started with a nervous expression.

 

"What is it?"

 

"I'm not sure if you realised but… Do you know why our emblems' chain has cracks on it?"

 

His question startled Kairi. 

 

"Let me take a look."

 

Virgo, Aries, Gemini, and Cancer show their emblem to him. Kairi reached for Aries' emblem since she was closer to him. He flipped it multiple times while caressing the cracks. A shocking discovery makes his eyes widen.

 

"Kairi?" 

 

They called him when he went into silence for a long time.

 

"This… I think we may have a big problem…" Kairi told them slowly.

 

"Wha, What problem...?"

 

Everyone starts to get restless.

 

"Em... I'm sorry, everyone. I didn't know this problem could happen. I think... When Revioryx sucked my power at that time and nearly took my life, it caused your power emblems to crack. In other words, if I die..."

 

Kairi didn't explain more. He clasps Aries' emblem tightly. All of them looked at him with pale expressions. They understood what he meant.

 

Aries' legs weakened and she sat abruptly on Auriga's chair. Not just her, Virgo, Gemini and Cancer too had to take a seat closer to them. Their faces show fear, disbelief and uneasiness.

 

"I'm sorry…" Kairi could only apologise to them.

 

He hopes he can still hold on until they defeat Revioryx. He can't die yet! If he did, all of the Bright Star users would lose their stellar powers!
