Chapter 80: CHAPTER 80: CITY OF HIGH TECHNOLOGIES

"Okay… I never knew Eridan was more advanced than us. And that’s because I have never come here before." Virgo stares amazed at his surroundings.

 

Ziphoteninx has teleported them straight to Axis City and this city was built near the sea. Eridan Kingdom was actually a big island with a shape like ‘W’ and had two islands located in the north and the southwest. As for Axis City, it was located on the west. 

 

Virgo, Aries and Gemini were shocked when they saw the city. Who could have imagined that the Eridan Kingdom, a sole kingdom in the middle of the sea, would be full of advanced technologies? Awe expressions cover their face while they walk inside.

 

Tall skyscrapers can be seen covering the sky above them with their majestic sight and most buildings were built with transparent glasses, enabling people to see inside. Even strange machines were built everywhere in the city.

 

"Heh! Maybe Dark Kage is the main distributor and creator of all of these technologies? According to the information, he exports machines to this country every year." Cancer told them.

 

He knew this kingdom has lots of amazing technologies and has been here for sightseeing.

 

"Amazing..." The others praised Dark Kage silently.

 

In addition to carriages that do not require horses to move, there was also a two-wheeled vehicle. It was more advanced than a bicycle because it doesn’t need to be pedalled, instead twisting the handle which was on the side of the head of the vehicle would move it. But, what spoils its greatness was the sound and the smoke emitted from it.

 

"That thing is called a motorcycle. Cars and motorcycles can only be driven on the road. With this, no one would be injured." Kairi explained to them.

 

“Huh? Kairi, have you come here before?” Aries asked in bewilderment.

 

Kairi nodded. “With Ziphoteninx and Draco. I haven’t stayed around in one place in the three years I was gone. I visit most kingdoms to increase my knowledge.”

 

Ziphoteninx, who was mentioned, has turned himself into a normal dog without wings and follows them around the city.

 

“I see. And did you even come to Antonia to visit us?” Virgo raised one eyebrow at him.

 

Kairi answered with a shake of his head. He also smiles at them.

 

“If I come to Syarantonia, Perseus might find me through her power.”

 

“Tsk! You should have visited us. We’ve been worried for three whole years.” Virgo glared at him.

 

“I’m sorry…” Kairi once more apologised to them.

 

Aries smiled at him. “It’s fine. You are here with us now in the end. Isn’t that good enough?”

 

“Yeah! If it wasn’t for Kairi, who knows what’ll happen to my half user. I could be dead without anyone knowing!” Gemini shuddered in fear.

 

Cancer patted his left shoulder. “Yeah. Maybe fate has settled everything for us. So, what should we do now?”

 

"Let's find a hotel first. We can see the whole city later." Kairi told them.

 

“Hotel?” Gemini didn’t know the word.

 

"It’s a boarding house but we are just going to rent a room. Not the whole floor. Just imagine it's like our room in Antonia Palace, just more spacious and comfortable than usual." Kairi explained.

 

"Oh... Then, how do we know which hotel is cheaper? I don't want to waste our money even though we're rich." Virgo asks for their opinions which makes everyone stare at him dumbfoundedly.

 

They didn’t know that he was a cheapskate before. When did he think that it was important to save money?

 

Kairi chuckled. “Virgo, I think it’s useless. With everything you saw in this city, none of it says it's cheap.”

 

Virgo’s eyes widened big and made everyone laugh aloud.

 

"Alright, come one. I saw a booking device over there with a self-service method." Ziphoteninx points to a device with a vertical screen on top of it. 

 

It was standing on the opposite road from them. When they got close to it, they saw many things on the screen that confused them except for Kairi and Cancer. Then, they saw Kairi touch the screen here and there.

 

“Please allow the scanner below to scan your payment card.” A mechanical voice sounded.

 

Kairi looked at Ziphoteninx who made a card appear on Kairi’s right palm. Kairi then moved the card inside a small open compartment below the screen. A moment later, they heard a ‘Ding’ sound and the screen showed it was complete. Then, something came out of the suddenly open floor beside the device. It was a small bunny robot. 

 

“Follow me, honourable guess. Follow me.” The bunny robot said and jumped in one direction.

 

“It’s so cute!” Aries couldn’t stop herself from saying it.

 

“God, I wish I had one!” Gemini exclaimed with shining eyes.

 

“You can buy it though.” Cancer laughed.

 

“Seriously!” Aries, Virgo and Gemini were astonished.

 

“Alright, let’s go before it leaves us here and accidentally gives our room to someone else.”

 

Everyone hurriedly chased after it. They enter one skyscraper building and use the elevator to get to the floor above. When Virgo and Gemini came out of it, they slumped to the side in the hall while breathing hard with pale expressions. Even their faces show they want to puke.

“Erm… Maybe we shouldn’t use the elevator next time…?” Kairi turns his head at Ziphoteninx.

 

Ziphoteninx blinks his eyes while enlarging his irises. “Must. Save. Power.”

 

Everyone understood his meaning. Yes, they must save their powers. Who knows if Revioryx was there and they need to be in a good state to fight him.

 

“We’re okay, Kairi. Just not used to it yet.” Virgo said while Gemini nodded his head.

 

“Aries, why aren’t you feeling uncomfortable like them?” Cancer noticed the differences.

 

Aries looked normal when she came out of the elevator. 

 

“Huh? Isn’t it just like climbing a steep mountain? Only that we don't need to use much energy.”

 

Everyone stared at her flabbergasted. How can she compare an elevator with climbing? Isn’t that too much different?! But now they know how adventurous Aries was. She’s not scared of heights at all.

 

When they saw the room which was a small penthouse, they were no longer so shocked by it. Each of them has their own room but only Kairi knew there were two bedrooms that were connected to each other. He had chosen one of them while the other was for Aries. The rest can have the other room available.

 

Aries, who saw the connected bedroom, blushed and glared at him. Kairi just gives her a smirk. When everyone entered their own room, he went to open the connecting door of their bedroom and went to hug her from behind.

 

“Ah, finally alone with you.” He told her softly while kissing and smelling her hair.

 

“Kairi, they know about us already,” Aries replied and felt Kairi nod from above her.

 

“They all have seen it. So, you don’t have to feel embarrassed being with me.” 

 

He turned her over and kissed her deeply. Aries slowly closed her eyes and felt his tongue enter her mouth. She also felt one of his hands sliding behind her back gently. Kairi had never done anything that hurt her which made her happy but also wished he would be wilder with her. After all, she always does things wildly because it makes her more excited. However, he still loves the way he treats her.

 

“Aries, do you dislike my ways of touching you?” Kairi suddenly asked her after he let go of her lips.

 

“Huh? Not at all. I love it.” Aries quickly replied.

 

She was stunned when he saw his eyes glowing green before another vertical shape irises in red-gold colours forming within his round irises.

 

“Kairi?” 

 

The changing eyes shock her but also make her blush deeply because they were staring at her intensely.

 

“I am a man, Aries. I may not be gentle all the time…” He warns her. 

 

“Someday, I won’t be able to stop tossing you around... And to stop me would be a hard thing to do… I, I don’t want to scare you…”

 

He said aggrievedly. He was afraid to hurt her. His words make Aries stunned. She immediately touched his cheeks with both palms.

 

“Kairi, I love anything you do to me. Because it means you love me and desire me. I would not stop you at all… Truthfully, I hope you can be rougher.” She was shy when she said her last sentences.

 

As for Kairi, he was stupefied after listening to it. His cheeks slowly got red before he kissed her again. This time, he didn’t hold back and brought her into his arms with some strength. He also carried her to her bed and put her down on it. But he didn’t go any further when he heard a knock from his bedroom.

 

Aries panted and chuckled at his annoyed expression. It was because they were interrupted. He smiled at her before he kissed her lightly and left.

 

“What’s wrong?” He asked after opening the door.

 

It seems Ziphoteninx was outside and he glared at him.

 

“You might want to tune it down while you're playing. Look at what you have done.” 

 

Ziphoteninx pointed to all bedroom doors that were open wide. The strange thing was there was no one inside.

 

“Where did everyone go?” Kairi was confused.

 

“Where did everyone go…? Of course, running away from your lovey-dovey moment! Do you forget all of them are single?! Do you think we won’t hear or know what you guys are doing in there?! And you even forget we have an underage child!” Ziphoteninx scolds him.

 

“Urgh… I’m sorry…” Kairi felt guilty now that he knew what was wrong.

 

“Don’t apologise to me! Apologise to them later! Tsk! I’m leaving to look around. You both can have the time to be alone now.” Ziphoteninx disappeared after he told him.

 

Aries came out with a guilty expression too. She already heard their conversation. Kairi smiled stiffly at her before he chuckled.

 

“Well, the house is empty now.”

 

Aries shakes her head at him with a small laugh. “Let’s go, Kairi. We need to check around the city too.”

 

“Sigh… Fine…”

 

The two also leave their hotel room.
