Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Guerrilla warfare

Forest near Itrisa city dungeon, Ryan, Everly, Levi and Luna have formed a group and start to ambush a monster. The monster has created a path from the dungeon to Itrisa city, all the trees have been burned to ash and the rocks have been smashed along the path. They have ambushed the monster for a few days, the sibling way of fighting is using freeze potion and rain potion to weaken the fire type monster after that the monster will be killed by Ryan and Everly after that Ryan stores the monster inside a space pouch. Sylas also has been ambushing the monster alone the reason why, because he wanted to become a master rank assassin. He needed to kill a monster to train his body, different from a mage that trained the mind.

"I can feel it after a few days of killing monsters and meditation, I can have a breakthrough."

While hiding, Sylas can see a group of fire type monsters approaching, he brings out a mage puppet inside Space storage to cast a rain spell to weaken the fire type monster. Sylas uses the shadow movement to move behind Efreeti and then beheaded the monster, other Efreeti notice what happened and try to attack using Scimitar and Hurl Flame toward him, but he uses teleport to evade the attack.

HellHound starts to chase and use fire breath, Sylas evades using shadow movement and teleport at the same infuses the dagger with an ice element and starts attacking Hell Hound and Efreeti. Fire Troll also begin to move and attack with his claw, Fire Troll incredibly agile and struck with lightning-fast reflexes but Sylas just teleport and ignore the Fire Troll and focus more on Hell Hound and Efreeti because Fire Troll have fast regeneration, he need to focus all attack on Fire Troll if he going to kill it.

After killing all Hell Hound and Efreeti, Sylas is ready to fight but the Fire troll blood is corrosive to metal because of that he infuses the dagger with ice element to protect the dagger and Fire troll weakness is ice element. Every damage that he did on the Fire troll slow down the regeneration, in the end he finally kills it, Sylas only target a group that only have one Fire troll to help him to have a breakthrough into master rank assassin, but sometimes there are suddenly more Fire Troll at that time Sylas just used ice magic to kill it, his life is more important.

Sylas starts to store all the monster bodies inside his space storage, while collecting all the bodies he sees a lot of Cinder swarms start to surround him, he just uses Ice breath and all the Cinder swarms get frozen and die. He also notices that right now mana near the dungeon have a fire element that means if he absorbs it his proficiency and affinity with fire magic can increase right now his fire magic is in apprentice rank if he stays here for a few months or years maybe he can advance his fire magic.

"I better regroup with the others, the monster that comes out from the dungeon is more than usual. I have a feeling the monster tide will get worse."

"Now attack together." At this time Ryan, Everly, Levi and Luna are attacking the last Fire troll. Levi and Luna keep throwing freeze potions to slow down the Fire troll regeneration at the same time with Ryan and Everly giving a final blow.

"Finally we manage to kill it, if we don't have freeze potion we are all going to die." Ryan says.

"I am tired, I need teacher food." Luna says.

"Let's collect all the monster bodies before new monsters arrive." Levi says.

After collecting all the monster bodies, Sylas suddenly appears.

"Good job, everybody, let's return."

All of them have been teleported by Sylas to a secret base.

"The monster is more than usual, next time we will move in the same group and we need to be vigilant."

"With a teacher here we don't need to be afraid of anything."

"Luna, I am not omnipotent. If I make a mistake , we all will die."

"Senior is right, we will be careful."

Like what Sylas says, the monster is getting bigger and a new monster has appeared: Drake and mammoth. It looks like the monster is ready to destroy the city wall.

"Senior, can you do anything to stop the monster?"

"I can, but I don't want to."

"Why?"

"Ryan, don't be rude to my teacher; he must have his reason why he doesn't want to help." Luna says.

"Forgive me senior."

"According to the history book, every time a monster tide happens, depending on how strong the monster tide is, the city will be half ruined or completely destroyed. We need to think about our survival first. If anything happens I want you all to save yourself."

"Yes, teacher."

"Yes, senior."

"Levi, how much herb and material that we have left for making potion?"

"We have run out of material to make health potion, stamina potion, freeze potion and rain potion."

"Tomorrow I will go to Itrisa city to restock our supplies alone. The city right now has been besieged by monsters. I don't think they will open the city gate to let anyone enter, do you have anything that you want in the city?"

All of them shake their heads.

"I will be in my room, Ryan and Everly go hunt some animals I will cook for dinner later."

Inside the secret chamber, Sylas brings out the monster carcass that he kills today. He is making a new type of puppet that use mana core created by fire type monster that have fire property that's means the new puppet that he creates can explode he name it suicide puppet. Because of that he need to use normal material creating suicide puppet but at the same time durable enough to get hit before explode, right now he is testing a few materials to test before making the puppet.
