Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Sign of Chaos.

The dungeon near Itrisa city, mana void, starts to weaken. Itrisa city has sent an army of coalition forces to make the first defense parameter near the dungeon gate, before the monster tide arrived at the city wall. In the front row is a normal soldier, warrior, knight and barbarian. Second row is an archer and the last row is a mage, leading them is a Master Knight from the royal family and Master Mage from one of the noble families.

"Why do master ranks need to be here? Don't you think this is an overkill to defeat a monster?" Master Mage says.

"I know what you are saying but this is an order from above, we just need to follow the order." Master Knight says.

"Listen to me, don't allow the monster to break through our defense, use all your power, don't be afraid the royal family has given me a scroll of mass teleportation, that means if anything happens I can save you all from dying."

"Waaaa!" All the army roared in excitement.

Mana have been returned around the dungeon, that means mana void has ended and right now the defender is preparing for monster tide. The first monster that comes out from the gate is a goblin and dark wolf monster. Some of the goblins even ride it while holding a weapon like a small sword and knife.

"Mage fire your spell!"

The mage casts a fireball spell toward the monster every time the fireball hits the monster or ground large explosion happens but it is useless the monster that dies will be replaced by the monster at the back. After the fireball the mage starts to fire other spells like ice spear, lightning, quagmire and fire spear. The body of the monster gets stuck on the quagmire after that gets hit by the spell, the spell pierces their head and body, some of them turn into charcoal after getting hit by lightning.

"Mage stop and restore your mana, archer fire at will." This time a lot of arrows fall down from the sky, most of them are normal arrows and pierce the monster. Some of the arrows also have element aura and have different glows each time a monster gets hit, they will explode or get frozen to death. The monster that comes out from the dungeon is getting lesser.

"It looks like we can go home earlier today." The Master mage says with a smile.

"No, it's not the end, we better get prepared for a prolonged war."

The entrance of the dungeon gate comes a hobgoblin warrior with armor and weapons, all of them in formation. At the back of the hobgoblin warrior there are hobgoblin archers and sorceresses.

"Prepare your weapon, they are coming."

The human archer and mage keep releasing spells and arrows, the same with hobgoblin archers and sorceresses releasing fireballs, poison spray and arrows. Both sides suffer from the casualties but at the entrance of the dungeon gate the monster keeps coming out. Right now the casualties will get even higher because the hobgoblin army is already starting the fight with the first row army. After a few hours of fighting the human army is getting tired and has a lot of casualties.

"It looks like if we stay here we are going to get overrun by the monster, prepare your strongest attack Sir Robert after that I will use the scroll of mass teleportation."

"Okay, Sir Grayson, give me a few seconds."

Strange formation spell appears on Robert and it's getting bigger at the same time there is a formation spell appearing in the sky. "Meteor! now Sir Grayson."

Sir Grayson quickly uses the scroll of mass teleportation, all of them vanish on sight. At the same time a large meteor comes out from the spell formation after the meteor hits the ground, it's like a volcano erupting and exploding. The area around the dungeon blows away and burns. Monsters that get hit by the meteor or the aftershock die except for a few monsters and the dungeon-like cave.

After lunch, "right now I am sure the mission has failed near the dungeon and they all will return to the city and defend it. This will be a prolonged war and attrition warfare but I am sure the city already has enough supply and if they don't they can use magic and flying creatures to get supply outside the city. We can just chose what time to join and fighting a monster army is different than fighting human army, monster rely on instinct while human used strategy to win but we also need to prepared in case the monster has a variant that can use strategy it's have happen before."

Sylas after the explanation asks Ryan and Everly to spy outside the city to know what happened. Levi and Luna continue to make potions, for him he will be in his secret chamber to do his experiment.
