Chapter 8: Chapter 8: New House and Experiment.

While waiting for the house to be fixed, Sylas has already done other missions at adventure guild and already entered a low rank dungeon near Playphis Town. The dungeons only have five floors and inside the dungeons the monsters are goblin, hobgoblin, hobgoblin shaman, hobgoblin barbarian, and the last boss of the dungeon are ogres.

 

Sylas just needed to use a shadow swallow spell the ogre got swallowed by the shadow after that he stored the ogre inside space storage. Sylas thought that in the dungeons monsters would leave an item or money but the monster here is the same as in the forest, the only different new monster will be created or monster from outside will come in to become the guard of the dungeons.

 

Sylas have been a regular of adventure guild, and become familiar with most people inside the guild. The receptionist's name is Bella and the one that guides him to the test ground is Ella. There are a lot of adventure groups that want Sylas to join them but he declined their offer because they are too weak and he likes to do things alone. Sylas saw the three siblings, their bodies no longer malnourished, and he asked them to go to the new house after it finished because he was going to hire them to become helpers to take care of the house and other stuff, and all of them agreed. Before the house is done Sylas already orders furniture to put inside.

When the house is completed, Sylas starts to create the experiment room. The experiment room looks like a modern lab and even has a surgery room. After telling the three siblings about the rules and giving them the money for the daily use to maintain the house and their job.

"Right now, to advance to Grand Master, I need to understand what my path in magic is. It's similar to eastern cult novel that I read about Dao comprehension. I need to explore the continent to understand my path but I cannot leave my new base. I need to make my new base that can function even after I leave it after a long time. The only way that I see is to use capitalism. That means I need to see the merchant guild."

Merchant guild is much larger than the adventure guild.

"Good evening, how can I help you?"

"I want to make an appointment to see the merchant guild leader."

"Can I know what your name is?"

"Sylas."

The expression of the receptionist changed. "Please wait a minute, I will find the guild leader."

After a while the receptionist brings a thin man.

"Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Aaron the merchant guild leader, how can I help you."

"My name is Sylas; I want to sell my potion."

"Let's talk in the meeting room."

After the discussion the merchant guild will buy and provide the raw material to create the potion, the potion that Sylas will sell is health potion, strength potion and defense potion. Sylas is thinking about who he is going to teach alchemy to make the potion look like after returning home he needs to do a test for the sibling.

The Alchemy test is divided by 2. The first test is to read a book about alchemy and answer a few questions. The second test is to identify the plant after reading a book. Result of the test, the second brother and sister passed the test. Now it is time to teach them about alchemy.

"To make potions you need precise timing and the right herb or material. The ingredients must not be conflicting with each other. Timing is important because each ingredient has a different time to process before you can add other ingredients. The process of each ingredient is different. Some of the plants you can put whole but others you need to separate the stalk, leaf, flower and roots because a certain part of the plant is poisonous or you need to separate the poison from the ingredient using other ingredients. Alchemy takes a long time to master. Even if you fail, it's okay, you don't need to worry about the ingredients I will provide for free, practice makes perfect."

If other alchemists heard what Sylas says they will say he is wrong because each ingredient is money. Normally if a new beginner alchemist failed to concoct the potion, they need to pay their teacher back the cost of the ingredient, not like Sylas provides the ingredient for free to practice.

"Yes, teacher." Both Levi and Luna are grateful to Sylas not only because he saves them from hunger and debt, he is also going to teach them about alchemy, one of the rare and costly professions.

Levi and Luna work hard to learn alchemy, the process of learning for them is like war because if they make a mistake they will explode or the ingredients ruin all of them. Sylas is already prepared for the sibling betrayal just in case, Sylas ask them to sign a curse agreement just in case they betray him the sibling will die. The sibling agreed to sign because if Sylas had not spared their life they would die and even if he let them go and not helping them about the money they would starve to debt or go to hunt monsters in the forest they would die either way.

While teaching them, Sylas also started his own experiment, he knows there are other people that can defeat him. He also can't fight an army of adept rank by himself; the only way to survive is to escape, but in case they are using magic artifact or formation to enable him to use space magic or other element magic he will be cornered. Sylas can overcome it by becoming a necromancy to create an army of undead or create an army of puppet both way required resources. He also can become a summoner to summon monsters but it requires a large amount of mana to create an army. By the time the army has already been created he will have no mana fight and protect himself.

Sylas suddenly remembers about a forbidden spell book belonging to Viscount Grant Mintz, a ritual to summon demons but the price to summon the demon is catastrophe if the summon succeeded all life near the summoner will die, and the demon that has been summoned will have the strength of Grand master. In the end Sylas decided to create an elite puppet using the corpse of 3 adept rank, 2 of the corpses belong to the assailant adept mage that attacked the Viscount Mintz caravan and one of them belonged to the leader of the horn bear bandit group. The reason he doesn't want to use a necromancer is because it's hard to bring them around in public. He decided to create a puppet with the adept rank mana but to extract it is a problem. Luckily I created a surgery room. Mana for mage is in the brain and for the fighter inside their heart I need to modify their organ to become a mana core for the puppet, normally people than want to create a puppet they just use mana stone to create a mana core, what Sylas done right now have been rarely done and not all mage succeeded.

"Let the experiment begin, start experiment no.1."

The time goes by and is already 1 year. During this time the name Master mage Sylas has already been known by all of the residents of Playphis Town. Today is the day Sylas will go and explore this world.

"Teacher, I hope you have a safe journey." Levi says.

"Teacher, sob." Luna is crying.

"Master, don't worry, I will take care of everything." Liam says.

Some of the people of the town, adventure guild, merchant guild and the town lord also see Sylas for the last time before departing.

"Good bye everyone, teleport." Sylas disappeared in front of the gate town.
