Chapter 7: Discoveries

"Ares, there you are!" A voice cried out.

She gave a nervous look as Reaper turned around to face the blue-skinned man once again. Reaper had realized what had happened suddenly.

"Bring them both to my room and send a maid with clothing and tea." He explained.

"Tre-hmmm…where is my weapon?" Reaper asked.

"Hear me out first." He smiled.

"I will not!" Reaper insisted.

"Ares has the kid, Reaper."

"This was your plan all along!" He argued.

"You fell for a simple trick, Reaper." Tremain grinned.

"If he is harmed in any way or manner I will kill you here," Reaper noted.

"He is just sleeping," Ares replied.

They were escorted to a large door down the hall. Reaper took Lian from Ares's hands before going inside. His fingers slide down the metal that had surgically been placed into his spine, making a rattling metal noise when switching positions.

Tremain pointed towards a large bed dressed in red marble wood and white blankets. Tremain stopped Reaper from preceding running his fingers down the metal for a couple of seconds in observation after noticing Reaper had done the same.

"Ares did a good job."

"What exactly is this device?" Reaper asked.

"The boy's father originally designed this to communicate better with the weapon's inner voice," Tremain stated.

"Merrick would never!" Reaper shouted.

"She didn't get done full affixing it to him I see."

Tremain ignored Reaper's comments tenderly tucking Merricks child. He was ultimately confused about what was going on and why all of a sudden Tremain was acting nicely.

"How good do you know Merrick, Reaper?" Tremain questioned.

"I was friends with Merrick for years!" Reaper argued.

"So not well enough then?" He laughed.

He strolled over to a large cabinet to pull out a dingey notebook to hand Reaper. He opened it to find yellowed pages filled with writing that he knew was Merrick's.

"What is this?" Reaper asked.

"Merrick kept many notes and diaries during my time with him."

Reaper became immersed in sitting gauging the drawings in the book. A strong scent came off the surface lingering in his airways bringing back nostalgia.

"The man Merrick became when he was still sane…" Reaper noted.

"The boy has so much potential. Give him to me!" Tremain demanded. A knock on the door distracted them both.

A lady dressed in a black and white maid dress came with a friendly smile. One hand is balancing a silver tray with a tarnished kettle and two teacups and in the other is clothing.

Reaper ran over to help the woman. She was almost shocked by the way she looked as he received the attire from the kind help.

"You should let them do their jobs!" Tremain scolded.

She squeaked for a second in response. Reaper frowned at his treatment of others she immediately took the garb back to practically jumping over to Lian. The silk crimson red pajama shirt popped quickly over top.

"Master, he is hot to touch."

Tremain dashed over after he had been dressed. Lian didn't even bat an eyelash at the blue-faced man. Reaper snuck up behind to find he had broken out in sweat since the time he come into the room.

"Get Ares, woman!" Tremain ordered.

"You are horrible," Reaper responded.

"Ares better give me a good answer about what is going on." He growled.

The lights in the room above them flicker on and off. The door slammed open and close, the bed shook and the floorboards came undone under their feet before returning to normal.

The door creaked open to a girl with long curly hair and a full-length nightgown. Reaper realized who she was as her presence filled the room.

"Welcome Soliel…" He said softly.

"I am no longer Soliel, Tremain." She scoffed.

A small glowing halo was slightly hazy in his vision. Gawking at Lian he knew he had fixed the weapon himself meaning he had given her a new name.

"What is your name now?" Tremain asked.

The appearance of sharp teeth nearly shocked him. Her skin shone brightly enough to see a sea of stars glimmering reflected back into his retina.

He could feel his fingers wriggle of their own nature. Tremain wanted this woman in her new form in his possession.

"Why don't you come with me?" Tremain said.

She stomped her foot moving away from Tremain when he tried to grab her by the arm. He halted quickly as she fled beside Reaper.

"This is not old times old man…" She explained.

Reaper stuck his hand in anger at Tremain. He furrowed his brow shuffling over Lian and pulling the sick boy up from the bed by the arm.

"Don't you dare do anything!" Aylin howled.

Tremain made Lian labor harder collapsing into his arms and sitting him up upright, his breathing became ragged making little effort to open his eyes. Dragging out a dagger to his throat ready to push it any second.

Aylin was afraid to move for her master's life would easily end hers she thought to herself. 

"Reaper…" She whispered.

He looked down at Aylin considering his options. A bond without much was made between the two. Reaper took her hand lightly squeezing it against his own palm and feeling a metal blade rise from her flesh edging into his own.

His eyes widened. A connection could be felt with Aylin internally like his weapon.

"A-hmmm…" He stopped.

He knew it would be dangerous to reveal Lian's weapons name out loud. Tremain became furious watching her get closer to Reaper.

"You know what I can do?!" He threatened.

The man clutched the mechanical piece attached to his spine pressing a button on the back sending a surge of volts to momentarily stun him causing his body to twist and contort in agony. 

"Master!" Aylin shouted.

"He already is sick!" Reaper yelled.

Tremain pulled him by the hairs on his head like reigns on a horse. Lian cried out as Reaper and Aylin scrutinized the situation from afar thinking how her master.

"Reaper…I give you permission!"
