Chapter 6: Chapter 5: [1:8] Espiègle Demoiselle – Hunter of the forest

I don't know how long I've been running but as I stop to catch my breath, I look behind me to where the Three Brothers went. They look like bandits but they don't think like a bandit, but they're good at running away and being good at it is a skill that bandit's need but they should just quit it and find a better job. 

As I catch my breath I took the dagger I've been hiding behind my back and put it in my waist. Then I checked the food and water I got if some fell off and the knife they give me, with two blades I should be able to protect myself. As I continue walking and look at the sun and saw that it's almost sunset. 

Then I look for suitable place to rest for the night and saw a boulder with a clearing. I dig a hole in the middle of the clearing and put some rocks around the hole and collected some twigs and dry grass.

"It's good that they teach you how to make a campfire in school, it really is very helpful right now."

As I finished preparing the campfire and saw the sky turning red, I light the campfire. As the sun goes down and the moon goes up, I sat in front of the fire with my back resting in the boulder, I think of the objective of the client of the Triple R Bandit Brothers.

The only thing I can say to them is that they're impatient. They should have give what they promised for and after they have me then they can go and erase the evidence. But they went after the three brothers and now they escaped with a dummy that is pretending to be me.

As I eat the jerked meat that is hard to chew, I hear something that can only be mean bad.

"Awwooooooooo~~!!"

I remembered that Ramon warned me about wolves before parting ways, after hearing the howl I stopped eating the jerky and unsheathed my dagger and get ready my things if I have to run.

When I was still 5 year's old my parents took me to the forest and told me how to set up camp and light a campfire which is what I already know about in my previous life in school. They also taught me how to set up simple trap's for animals and went to the river to go fishing, where I saw my reflection for the first time.

I was surprised to see how close my face look like in my previous life. My hair and eyes are black just like my mother and my face reminded me of my life before I got reincarnated in this world. I keep looking in my reflection when my mother's face also got reflected in the waters surface. 

Emily: "Well well~ who's that cutie that I see there? It makes me want to pinch her cheek at how cute she is~"

Lynora: "Mwobher! pweise sswtwomb!"

Leo: "......"

After a while my mother finally stop and now started the fishing lesson, my mother and I sat by the riverside as father went somewhere to collect some dry wood. As we waited for the fish to bite, noon came as the sun was now in the middle of the sky. My mother and I went back to the campsite with our catch, and saw dad with a knife in hand and a bunny like animal that has blue skin and a little horn on it's forehead tied up near him. When I saw it's cute blue eyes, I can't help it for my heart to be taken by it's cuteness.

Emily: "Oh my~! A schwartch! Good thing you caught it dear, or else some children might go missing~. With this place close to the village, it might wander there close enough where the children might see it~."

I was about to ask father to keep the bunny like creature as a pet when my mother said something I can't just ignore.

Leo: "Yeah, good thing it got caught in the trap Lynora made. For it's first time to make a trap, it caught a schwartch as a first. Looks like luck is on her side."

As father spoke he held a knife in front of me and spoke to me in a serious expression.

Leo: "Lynora sweetie, since it got caught in your trap you must kill it. I'm sorry we're forcing you to this kind of thing but you need to be at least capable of killing animals for your own good."

Father said that as he still held a knife in front of me, and as I reach out to grab it my mother spoke about the schwartch's.

Emily: "Long ago, there was an accident that happened in a certain town, a herd of schwartch's attacked this place and ate all the living things inside it. The kingdom can't ignore this as they sent an army of Knights to eradicate the schwartch's in this town. The knights was able to drive out the herd but failed the eradicate them. As the kingdom give a reward to every killed schwartch's, a random knight tried eating the schwartch's meat for dinner. Because of the color of their skin, people didn't even try eating them but the when the knight ate the schwartch meat and was surprised at how good it was. It told the commander and also tried it and told the King about how great it is. The King tried it and it became it's favorite and change the quest in the Adventurers Guild from each killed schwartch to each meat of a schwartch's. Soon everyone also tried it and became it's favorite, and the schwartch that is known to be a dangerous living eater because of its nature of eating anything that is alive now become an endangered species because of its delicious meat. Because of how rare they are, the price for it's meat in average is 50 gold coins."

Leo: "Also, schwartch's are also captured alive to help girl's have tolerance in killing. Because of its cuteness, girls have a hard time killing it but after being able to kill it. They will be able to kill any animal's or monsters because they're not hard to kill just like the schwartch's."

As they said this, the awareness at how dangerous they are and the curiosity at how they're meat taste gives me enough reason to kill. I heard that human are very greedy and when it comes to food, they are very greedy about it. 

As I stood in front of the bunny like creature with the knife in hand. I knelt in the ground and aim in it's stomach that makes me want to cuddle with it. My mother told me to stab it in the stomach for it's blood to come out as it's heart force it out. I look at it one more time to see it looking at me with cute pleading eyes but the thought of how dangerous and tasty it's meat helped me fight it and brought the knife to it's stomach.

Lynora: "Sorry! I'll make sure to enjoy every bite of your meat! Yaaaaaahhhhhh!!"

Whe had Schwartch's stew for dinner, the meat was so good that makes want to kill an another one with no hesitation, looks like about human being greedy is really true.

I always wonder why they taught me how to survive in the forest, but not just that but also about monsters and it's habits and weaknesses. I can understand learning about animals but knowing how to kill monster's is something I don't understand.

But after learning about mother and father elopement and that they're also hiding something valuable, they must have anticipated that I might get kidnapped and if I was able to escape in the forest. I must know how to survive in there, and at the present situation I'm in now, I don't know if I should thank my parents for their preparedness even though it's their fault and they know this so they taught me how to survive on my own. 

As finished preparing my things I heard another howl that is closer than before. I look in the direction where heard it run in the opposite direction.
