Chapter 8: Chapter 7: [1:8] Espiègle Demoiselle – Fated Encounter

Let's go back to when Lynora is still captured by the Bandit Brothers. It was almost noon and in front of a noble house in a village deep in the forest, a group of three is getting ready to go to the forest. 

Butler: "Master Heirald, please take care and I'll be praying for your success"

A Butler said with worry to the boy

Heirald: "Don't worry Howard, I'm going to pass without doubt!"

The boy who is Heirald said this with confidence. Howard look more worried after he heard that.

Howard: "Sir Samuel, Sir Arnold. I'll be trusting Master Heirald's safety to you two. Master Heirald might cause trouble to you two but I trust that you two can manage."

Howard said to those two people who is going to look after Heirald for at least a few days.

Arnold: "You can leave the kid to me, I've known about the forest with the back of my head so you can leave it to me"

Samuel: "It honors me for a lower ranked knight like me to be given this important mission so I will make sure to look after Master Heirald"

The two said to the Butler who drop his shoulder in relief then stood straight with no expression in it's face.

Howard: "Well then, please take care and may you have a safe trip"

He said those with no expression with a refined bow befitting of a First Class Butler.

"I can't believe them! Mom and Dad, even Howard don't trust me at all!"

I complain but Arnold just scolded me

Arnold: "Kid, don't shout or you will attract unwanted attention."

We are now currently in the forest near the mansion where I would be taught about things to learn to survive in the forest and to be tested if I'm worthy to inherit the family.

Arnold: "The first thing for you to know is that you must always have your guard up and remain cautious to know if there is enemy nearby, not to let your enemy your there by shouting. Because whoever first made a move can change the outcome between life and death so remember that kid"

Heirald: "Sorry for the noise but can you stop calling me kid? For an adventurer, you sure are not afraid to get your head be lopped off"

I said to Arnold who despite being an adventurer who is the same rank as a commoner is not calling my name with respect. Arnold is a B+ ranked adventurer who had a brown hair and black eyes and has a hight that two heads bigger than a normal adult with a sword in it's waist that you can see anywhere.

Arnold: "I'll call you Lord Heirald if there is other nobles but your still a child, both physically and mentally. I'll stop calling you kid if you make me acknowledge you as one of us adults"

Samuel: "I don't approve of you disrespecting a Noble of the Flamlesword Family, but as you are going to teach Lord Heirald. What you are doing can motivate Lord Heirald to improve himself and also as a fellow commoner, I'll turn a blind eye for only this occasion"

Samuel is a commoner who was able to become a Knight but because he was a commoner, he was a lower ranked. He has golden brown hair with light blue eyes, has average height and has what you would call a friendly aura that made it easy to get along with him despite being average though. 

Arnold: "Must be hard being a Knight commoner, as knights are the same as a noble you must act like a noble knight when there are other nobles"

Arnold said with sympathy to Samuel but Samuel just shrugged his shoulders and said to Arnold.

Samuel: "Yes, it was hard to act like a noble despite being a commoner but thanks to someone who is a noble friend of mine that is also a knight, who helped me become a Knight and recommended me to a Commanding Officer. I was able to become a Knight that I always admire so there is no problem whatsoever"

He said with a smile and continued to look in front and feel his surroundings if there is anything dangerous.

Heirald: "Let's just go already and finish this test and I'll make you approve of me so let's go and teach me everything you know!"

Arnold: "First is to have patience or else you will recklessly go straight to your enemies without a plan and be captured or die like an idiot"

Arnold said with a exasperation as Samuel dried to hold back his laughter.

My face went red with embarrassment to fail already with something that I already know.

My name is Heirald Flamlesword. The Flamlesword are a family of Knight's that served the Royal Family of the Strigerminas Kingdom in it's founder. The Strigerminas Kingdom is one of the Five Largest Countries in the continent and as part of the Flamlesword Noble Family, I have to be worthy enough to carry the family's name when the time comes.

The Flamlesword Noble Knights are feared even by the neighborhood countries, because of our strength and with our family heritage "Flamlesword" where our family name come from where we made a sword of flames that we can use even without a weapon. The flames of the sword are so strong that it will melt the sword and armor of and anyone near it but the flames of the sword are very strong that it will even burn us alive if we're not strong enough to handle it. 

So the Flamlesword has a high resistance against Fire to control the "Flame Sword" and because were a family that controls Fire, we have noticeable red hair as red as a blazing fire and crimson eyes that's full of flames and with this, anyone who saw this two traits will know it's the Flamlesword Noble Knight.

But not everyone in the family has this two traits, while my Father both had these two traits my mother from a different noble house has orange hair and green eyes. I also got both traits just like father but my older brother has orange hair and crimson eyes while my newborn sister both has my mother's orange hair and green eyes.

Even though my older brother should be the one to inherit the family's name but because I have the two traits that a Flamlesword have, I must be ready to inherit the family name when the time comes. I talked my older brother about this but he said.

"Me the oldest inheriting the Flamlesword Family is very common in nobility but our family is very special. Whoever is able to control the "Flamlesword" will be the one to inherit the family."

He said as he looked as his hands that has a burn mark that is being hidden by his gloves. He said that my red hair and crimson eyes is a mark that I have high resistance to fire and that I have a higher chance in controlling it.

"But that doesn't mean that you can just control it because you are born with both the two traits are family possessed. Father said that his brother also has both traits but unable to control the "Flamlesword", but his brother never accepted it and was burned alive."

My brother said with a serious expression and swallowed hard and I could feel a cold sweat running through my back.

That's why my father gave me test to make sure what happened to his brother never happened to me by giving me experience with the help of people that survived on their own, Adventurers. 

By having me experience what adventurers go through everyday, I will have the strength that I need to control the "Flamlesword".

I listened carefully about how to make a campfire and set up a tent and how to cook simple food for me to eat.

"Wait! Why am I learning this!?"

I complained to Arnold as he ate the hard bread after dripping it in his bowl of soup.

Arnold: "You can't survive on your own if you don't know something this basic. Even the Knight's will have to camp in middle of nowhere sometimes, just ask that knight over there if it's true."

Samuel: "Yes, it's true that we will have camp outside depending on what orders was given to us so being able to camp outside is a necessary skill for us."

Samuel said as he supports what Arnold said. I shut my mouth when they said that, right now we've set up camp beside a river and is now having a meal. After finishing our meal, Arnold said that we will take shift for the night.

Arnold: "So I'll be the first after me is the Samuel's turn then last is the kid so go to sleep now and wait for your turn."

I went sleep and when it was now finally my turn that Samuel woke me up and is now sitting in front of the campfire and sensing my surroundings if there's anything weird happening. As I sat in the campfire and remembered what my brother said and his hands that has burn marks that he is hiding behind with his gloves, I thought if I'll I'm really brave enough to touch something that's dangerous and control it. 

The fear of my being burned and feeling the pain is what living things are born with. I keep thinking if I'll be able to do it or have my hands be burned when I saw something floating in the river upstream. I stand up, ready to wake up Arnold and Samuel when I noticed something. The couldn't discern what is floating upstream because of the darkness but as I looked closer, I could see something black spread out floating next to something.

As it floats closer to where the campfire's light can reach, my eyes was wide open when I see that it was a body that is floating in the river. I screamed with the top of my lungs before I passed out.
