A Different Type Of Maid

"Well shit..." As Yun Beishang was walking around the Azure Dragon Main City that was still in shambles and whose walls on the east and west were barely beginning to be repaired at full capacity, he looked down at the in-game forum interface, checking down what the players of the game were about now and how fervently passionate they were after experiencing battle, death and destruction. Real in every aspect.

Yun Beishang has had been going in-between all places to find the exact location from where he should be using the Azure Key to enter the sacred underground from his 'Plunder the Sacred Underground' quest.

[Azure Key]: Type: Unique Item, Properties: It is unknown where it is supposed to fit. With your Mental Power, you're able to feel an attraction towards a certain area and with further investigation on this feeling, you feel a calling coming right under Azure Dragon Main City.

The thing is, he had already located the exact place and even had an inkling about how to 'get in' a day before. However, as the day was already going off and he was bored as well as tired from endless searching, Yun Beishang decided to leave it for tomorrow once he got his filling of warmth coming from all his women and some maids.

Even though Miriam has already been with them for almost an entire week, she still has not given the Master of the Villa his respective defloration session and become his in body entirely, she still allowed him to treat her like his all to precious with a caress here and there as well as some kissing and eating. Though she was an all-times passive and didn't even gave the hungry Yun Beishang a hand, as she still felt somewhat unworthy of taking the place of other girls... Yun Beishang still didn't found her at fault for any reason and instead patiently waited for her to willingly, and thirstily, give him her most precious maidenhood when she deemed it best.

Silly? Yeah. Unnecessary? Not really, as it was within the person's -in question- comfort to choose their every step ahead.

And as of right now, as Miriam slowly became an excited and hungrier kitten by the day; thanks to Natalia letting her sleep on their bed and on his spot as he himself slept with a naked Yao Yao to wake up to kisses, sucking and more kisses every morning. Lately, they even engaged in dry humping and thigh worship.

Nor he, Yun Beishang, nor all of those inside the Peaceful Rain Villa participated in the defense for the Sub-Divisional Main Cities. They weren't even inside the game at all for almost a full day at that. Hence, they only realized of that late once it had already been a day since it happened. Or almost everyone, since Yona would always take a closer look at the forums and any ongoing event on the game, Yun Beishang did indeed always thanked her with many dates, passionate nights and delicious unique food. As for money, clothes and jewelry; Yona wasn't one to simply care about those. Besides, she was always thirsting for more of him, every day.

Yun Beishang was now reading a thread that mentioned how the invasion went on and the events that transpired. Firstly, the players had a huge advantage of being able to revive, that much was known alright. The ones to first die in the charge of the Demons were rather slow to go back out again while most didn't even thought of coming back outside and simply opted to cowardly remain inside to 'help out' instead. However, after some minutes, with tens of thousands of players being sent back into the city and then rushing back outside without a single tiny bit of reluctance or fear made those previously cowardly players man up or woman up as most of them then rushed outside after so long.

Naturally, through these some of the cowardly first-to-die-players, the chaos inside the cities were mostly quenched fast. Yet, they were only maintained rather than being solved; as the amount of Demons that ended up being transported by those invisible, ephemeral portals, was that of a few hundred million. It was no fucking joke. Well, compared to the fight outside the Sub-Divisional Main Cities which had around 250,000,000,000 Demons each per Region, it was indeed in the lows. However, the death rate of civilians inside those cities were in-between alarmingly high and not-sufficiently-low.

In short, some other few hundreds of millions of NPCs' lives were in danger for around two hours, while tens of millions did ended up perishing at most, mostly as they were caught by a Demon or two directly inside their homes. Not being able to even react as any Demon that surfaced was at least LV80 while the highest shown out of all the Regions was of LV97. Naturally, any civilian would die by just even being thrown a rock at; numerous families were found totally death, exterminated, inside their very own homes without a care for age, gender nor beauty.

On the other hand, the suffering of the each Sub-Divisional Main City's outer and defensive structures as well as that of manpower; was the highest of them all. With only those of the Origin Pertaining Region having their Sub-Divisional Main Cities' walls standing tall and mightily after the invasion event; most other Region suffered at least 2 defensive city walls for each Sub-Divisional Main City. With the exception of the Wonder Region of course, which in turn, had only one of their Sub-Divisional Main Cities with their walls not fully crushed down. But, as always, there would be a thing or two that always highlighted out the most. The Eternal Silhouette Region's Hidden Crimson Shadow Sub-Division's Main City was the only one that didn't even suffered a single attack from any Demon; that was to be expected. Who else would've imagined that the Black Lotus people had some weird, never seen before Core Elemental 'bombs' placed all around their cherished Main City? Holy fuck.

The other one was... the guy, player, that had that lava-like body which single-handedly managed to drive back -albeit, for a little- the unstoppable charge of the Demons at the Clandestine Vocation Main City. That whose skills were extremely slowly yet also extremely destructive, albeit in a sense of against personnel and not of structures. In any case, the thing about him, was more than anything of how he acted whenever a player was behaving 'inappropriately' and how he would end them all in the same cruel and heartless ways while also killing off any Demon like a cold machine. Not with a grudge nor with a false sense of heroism.

But, going backwards and talking about the Wonder Region. There was only one way in which their Sub-Divisional Main Cities survived and that is... NPCs of Enlightened grade having come out to the rescue! Naturally, each Sub-Division does has one or two of such NPCs. After all, just at the second update of Rising Essence and players were already growing dangerously closer to the power level of the Sub-Divisional Main Cities. Why would the devs put it that easy? To place them a Sub-Division's territory in a plate and present it to them? Fuck no!

In any case, having a -or a couple of- Enlightened graded NPCs of high level was more than enough to instill fear on any player who read the report of this very same thread. Which, by the way, was from a dev themselves and also grew to have 11B Upvotes and hundreds of billions of comments in just a dozen hours. Naturally, those comments were locked and only those that passed a strict filtering and confirmation could be published since the beginning. Otherwise... but, even then; the amount of comments shocked the developers so much that they even had to implement a new regulation of not allowing an unlimited amount of comments to be possible in each thread... effective immediately.

In any case, there wasn't much of that one thread to read and, Yun Beishang couldn't care less of the community so he simply continued reading until he finished doing so.

Besides the mentioning of each Sub-Divisional Main City's damages and casualties, there was also a few mentions of how it all arrived a stalemate and how the invasion finally ended.

Somewhere in after the first 20 minutes of the invasion after the 10 minutes cooldown; the reinforces from even more players finally came to be. And as some more dozens of millions made their way towards outside or spread around the city to save countless civilians NPCs, in the same way, the strong and innumerable Demons similarly began pushing forwards until their walls were just a few dozens of meter behind the player's backs as they relentlessly chose to hold the line no matter what.

Yet, as the Demons had gotten a clear image and reading of how the players worked, which was ultimately erratic and nonsensical; as they relied heavily on their reviving thanks to the system. The Demons then quickly advised a contingency plan, each army in each Sub-Division differently, as they all ended up being about destroying the chances of said 'Journeyers' to continue on reviving.

It would've been fine even if that was the case, after all, to destroy the respawn of 'Journeyers'; they would just have to walk and run back up towards the Main City and then continue the battle. However, those foolish players have had forgotten how they no longer could even use a scroll to teleport back to the city when being outside of it. Naturally, they also discarded the thought of them being able to impede the chances for players to revive.

And, indeed, the Demons weren't just brainless idiots going into full-out battles expecting to overwhelm and just win with mere numbers. At around the 40th minute since the invasion started, reviving became impossible for all players of Rising Essence. The world was shocked.

It wasn't some SAO or crazy japanese overused plot, they could see everything around themselves, log off and even log back in even while in death. It's just that, they were no longer able to help, communicate nor even walk as their bodies were in a state of not feeling anything but also remaining as a corpse. Not being able to do anything but wish the best for their comrades.

This indeed caused heavy problems for the defense of the Sub-Divisional Main Cities. However, the players weren't the only ones to underestimate the enemy.

As the Demons celebrated by bathing in the enemy's and civilians' blood, flesh and filth; the players devised for themselves a heroic kamikaze+against-nature type of attack. Sacrificing some of their now 'valuable' lives while also creating some real damage that was both; explosive and also left either poison, DoT and other negative altered effects that could aid them in the counterattack against the Demons.

Like this, slowly but brutally, the players managed to liquidate the rest of the Demons with a completely exhausted mind and body at the end of it. It was to the point that the Crestfallen Industry promised to give everyone a serving of 'medium'-version of each of their free medicines to everybody as an apology for their 'surprise'. Namely, from the Little Strengthening Serum, they gave 10 Medium Strengthening Serums to everyone. And also namely, from the Minor Invigoration Beverage, they gave 10 Balanced Invigoration Beverage to everyone. In the same manner, everyone was complete astounded! Not only because of their 'sincerity', but also because of how wealthy and resourceful the Crestfallen Industry was; once again being demonstrated by anyone. Including the ever growing greedy Founding Clans.

That was it for that thread, it had so much to tell  that its contents were at least of 300k words; no joke.

You are reading story Bow and Arrow at novel35.com

Then there was this thread that talked about the so-called 'Journeyer' 'Generals' which were the main reason for Main Kingdom to be successfully defended. It was quite similar... and, the reason for that was; that its author was Frightened Squirrel. Indeed, that seemingly pro player-boot-kisser that talked shit about archers and still continues to be a hater even after so long. That guy.

Baston, as always, was the first to be mentioned and to be spoken about like he was a messiah. Meanwhile Raoundozia had finally entered his eyes, albeit to the lowest level. Not even being able to compare to the 'lest' popular pro of the top 10-20 or something. Well, at least he wasn't indirectly trashed like a someone called Tongqiu, cough cough.

Reading furthermore, that thread also mentioned the first places for all Sub-Divisions and Regions of all Main Kingdom from Associations and Associations only. As well as making a comparison between all Sub-Divisional Main Cities' ranking and overall Region's ranking for the Demon Race invasion. Similarly, the fucker even did a global Association ranking in which, indeed, the ones and only ones to be mentioned as the best are from the same pro players as before. With the addition of the House of the Knights of Raoundozia at the very last.

'Well, doesn't fucking matter.' Yun Beishang thought to himself and to Rosey in a manner of complaining as he stood in front of a bread shop in which nice, good ol' scent of bread came out from. At such a time, having just suffered terrible pain from both emotional and physically, most would find it impossible to even breathe normally for a good long while. Yet, there were also these kinds of people whose hearts beat and warmed to the ears of the rest and to the bodies of the rest of both; powerful and fragile survivors of war. It was because of these very same kind of people, that players felt more like Journeyers at last, Unions more than anything were very touched by this. Collectively getting a few hundreds of thousands of players to donate 10 gold each was more than enough to bring real solutions to these civilian NPCs, directly rather than wasting more money in the fucking city lords. Those motherfuckers were hungry, ate, bathed and fucking goddamned drank gold coins.

"Sigh... let's go Rosey, mm? Okay, I'll buy you a flower-designed bread~." Yun Beishang said a little out loud as he had his right hand holding Rosey's left and as countless murmurs of him resounded through all the nearby players. Rosey, however, was cutely giving Yun Beishang blinks of her eyes as her eyelashes fluttered with tenderness.

As for the murmuring nearby players; either out of anger, resentment or schadenfreude for as anyone knew he had something going on 'with the Demons', emphasis on the 's' of 'Demons'. Both of them didn't gave less than 4 fucks given and simply entered the bread shop with their heads high.

Ding, ding~~.

"Oh, customer- gasp! My husband, look who it is!"

"Eh? If it's a 'Journeyer', just give him a serving and charge with a 15% discount darling. That's what is acco-oh my dear lord! Tongqiu! Young Hero!"

The Young Hero: "...?"

Rosey: ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

"E-eh... ahem!" Yun Beishang became embarrassed, should he really be called like this when he was 'busy' fucking and bonding with his women on the other side of reality against this side of virtual reality though? It even felt... like he was cheating on these fragile lives of NPCs and in the virtual reality of Rising Essence! But he then saw Rosey's pleading eyes and instead of cutting short of any type of conversation, he patiently and candidly said. "Owner and Madam Owner, I'm sorry that I couldn't have helped that day, I was, er... on the, you know, 'other' world. See?"

"...? Oh! OH! Hahaha! I see. No, no, no. Of course not, Young Hero Tongqiu doesn't have to feel like this. Ah, tell you what. There were a pair of-eh? What are they called?"

The Madam Owner, which became flustered and divinely joyful at hearing her 'new title', responded to her slow husband's murmuring with an even more womanly and gentle voice. "Oh, you old man, 'Associations'! They're called Associations! Ugh, seriously, if only you were half as good to what this Young Hero Tongqiu's hearing was, hum hum."

Embarrassed, the Owner could only continue with his previous words as he then also asked for Tongqiu's matters for their shop. "Well, as I was saying, there was a beautiful and heroic young woman 'Journeyer' and a middle-aged man 'Journeyer' who became the heroes of the north and the south walls. Heh, heh. As you know, those are the walls that remained standing proud and tall even after the torturous times from that battle. Who would've thought? Hahaha. We barely heard of them before from the mouths of many other 'Journeyers' but, now, I'm sure they'll be in the hearts of every citizen of our cherished Azure Dragon Sub-Division. They mentioned that they knew you as many of our comrades were rescued amidst a sudden charge from the Demon Race when the west wall fell down, and as many of those survivors comrades of ours spoke of your name with hope. Sigh, what a pity. But it is alright, from them, we were informed of how-eh... 'things work'."

"Ah-eh? Tongqiu, but even then, hahaha. How come you're here, have you heard of us from them? Heh heh, to tell you the truth, it was thanks to them that my two little daughters, hmmm, are you perhaps-"

"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH-KAH!" Yun Beishang immediately went berserk, what was this?! Just like that? Then, Yun Beishang looked at his stats and, seeing that 80 Charm and 80 Luck, he became calmer. Nonetheless, he asked Natalia about life a little bit before gulping down the glass of water that the Madam Owner went for once she started hearing the slightly unique tone of her husband when... well.

Relieved, Yun Beishang finally breathed in and out as he said with an expressionless face. "Hm, may I see your daughters?"

Overjoyed, both of the owner went to look for a portrait or painting from them, the most recent ones. The Madam Owner was especially glad as she went around the back of the bread shop until she found a medium-sized portrait of her daughters alone.

"Ah, here they are, tell me Young Hero Tongqiu. Are they good for you? Heh, heh!" Both the owners were proud and hopeful as they looked at Yun Beishang with fervent eyes. And seeing that both of them seemed to be around 20 years old, while also hearing from their parents of how they were also very good young women that were especially good at attending the chores of the house, Yun Beishang then chose to accept a new type of maid as he informed both Natalia and Yona to come receive and pick them up for some final evaluation and confirmation. He then told the owners with a nice smile. "Indeed, my wives seem to like them too so I won't be refusing such a matchmaking. Cough, forgive me for I am still somewhat embarrassed. Could I get, uh... a few servings of bread with flower designs? As for how exactly, please, impress me."

"Oh? An order? Very well, please wait a moment, Young Hero Tongqiu." After saying so, the Owner left for the back of the bread shop while Yun Beishang sat down with the Madam Owner and began to listen to her speak of her daughters and selling them off like the proudest of mothers. Not in a bad way of course, simply in a manner that hoped for her daughters to be in an even better light than possible for Yun Beishang.

And, Yun Beishang, on the other hand; listened attentively as he took his 'precious' time and 'wasted' it on hearing out such an ordinarily living NPC speak of her and her family's life. To hear a virtual character's designed lore and one that wasn't important at all, why did it felt all too normal and fitting?

'To stop for a moment and to listen. Did it ever felt like this? I... I didn't know, at all. It's... It's different.'
