Chapter 5: Chapter 05 : Abilities Straight Out Of A Videogame

After choosing the "yes" option, I didn't notice any remarkable change. 

My appearance was still the same after looking at my reflection on the water. 

So, I started inspecting my body and that's when I noticed the strange marks that had appeared behind my right hand. 

The first mark was hearts. 

There were 8 of them, side by side next to each other. 

Below them was a bar with a label "exp: 0/15" on the side. 

That's when I realized that these marks were similar to the heads-up display or HUD you can find in video games. 

The hearts possibly represented my hit points. 

On the other hand, behind my left hand were two letters. 

One was a letter "C" and the other one was letter "I". 

I didn't know what these letters were for or what they meant, so I started closely inspecting them. 

After touching the letter "I", a floating screen appeared. 

It turned out, the "I" meant inventory. 

Yes, the inventory we see in video games specifically farming games and survival games. 

There were a total of 6 x 10 slots. 6 vertically, 10 diagonally. 

60 slots in total. 

I asked myself, "How does this work?"

I picked up a stone and tried putting it inside the screen and it worked. 

The stone disappeared and reappeared as an icon on the first slot. 

It said "x1", maybe because I only put a single stone. I tried putting another stone again. 

The "x1" became "x2". So, if I put a material of the same type, it would be in a single slot. 

However, even though they combined in a single slot, if you clicked on their icon, another two slots would appear above them showing the two stones that I had put earlier. 

That was convenient. 

After experimenting a few more times, I checked out the letter "C". 

I was right, the letter "C" meant crafting. 

An item could only be crafted when the needed materials were inside the inventory. 

The convenient thing was, all craftable materials were displayed and properly categorized. 

Everything you could think of, be it from the primitive age or the modern age. 

Though of course, when I wanted to craft modern things, I would need materials that were hard to get.

I don't know how I would get back to my original world. 

I wanted to go back, but if possible, I wanted to have this otherworldly skills when I returned. 

Sigh.. with these skills, I could say that I had been cast away in paradise.
