Jack’s eyes are trembling, and gritting his teeth, he cannot believe the unfairness of the world. Why can’t he become a Magic Knight? Just why?
With the hopes of becoming one, Jack dares to leave his home and travel to the capital. Hearing the story of the first-ever peasant to become a Magic Knight, Zara Ideale, Jack too like many inspired peasants desire to follow the so-called peasant’s tale.
Pouring streams of tears from his eyes, Jack hatefully looks at the high and mighty nobles in front of him. He regretfully gazes at Sabrina, the captain of Purple Orca.
Sabrina aware of what the peasant is thinking offers an explanation. “I am sorry. But the Purple Orca no longer accepts peasants.” Too cruel. A shiver in Jack’s spine, he then takes a step back.
Acier apologetically bows her head. “I am sorry, young Jack, but it is not time yet. The Royal Court strongly opposes the joining of peasants in the squads. The idea of peasants in the squad is currently at its experimental pace.”
“You are so frank,” There is no strength in his limbs, but a bit of hope still remains in his eyes. “If peasants aren’t allowed yet to become knights, what is it that I am doing here in the first place? Why am I even participating in this exam?”
Alice Unsworth, the captain of Coral Peacock sneers at Jack. “You got here through a loophole, luck, and coincidence. We don’t really check whether you are a noble or a peasant by the gates, as you can see, that would be too degrading. Look at yourself. Don’t you feel sorry you are born a peasant? Don’t you feel the gazes piercing at the back of your head?”
“Enough!” Robin, the captain of Green Hornet rouses his mana and warns Alice to be careful with his words. “Alice, if the system is so perfect, then why are the Grey Deer even allowed to accept a foreigner?”
Alice equally rouses his mana in his spite. “It is obvious, right? That Yami was at least a noble in his past country. Julius too was a noble in the Spade Kingdom before here. You see, nobility in the blood cannot be faked. That’s why even though you are a fallen aristocrat who is not so different from a peasant, you still have a place in the Clover Kingdom as a Magic Knight Squad Captain!”
In his rage, Robin stands up from his seat, summons his bow, and threateningly points it at Alice. “How dare you? If you are so noble yourself, why is your household so muddled with corruption then?”
“How do you fucking know that? Huh?” At Robin’s provocation, Alice equally shows his hostility by raising his staff. “You lowly hooligan, don’t talk to me that way. The only reason your squad even exists is that the Wizard King thinks of your lot as useful expendables. Sheesh… What good can we expect from a cesspool full of convicts?”
Jack who is watching all of this finally gives himself up to hopelessness. Is that it? Is this really the Magic Knights he looks up to? All of the squad captains are quiet except the arguing Robin and Alice. The harsh cold reality hits like the artic winds directly to Jack’s exposed lungs.
Robin massages his forehead as arguing with Alice is too mentally taxing. “Shut the fuck up, Alice. Let me handle it…”
Calling Jack, Robin descends from the podium. No longer was his bow in his hand, except what he is holding now is a green robe. It is just an ordinary robe without the insignia of Green Hornet. “Do not ever give up.” That were his only words to Jack.

Turning his back away, Jack continues to silently cry while holding the only proof that he was here.
I watch all of this happen with a quivering fist. I bit my lip, tasting my blood, I feel like dying inside 100 times over. “I fucking hate this.”
Morgen Light worriedly asks for my well-being, “Aaron, what is happening? Are you ok?”
I shove Morgen away. The only people in my eyes right now are the seven Magic Knight Captains. When Jack is no longer in the arena, the Green-Robed mage finally returns to his seat. I observe each and every one of them. Julius has a poker face. Merleona is sighing. Acier is frowning. The Green Robed is guilty. The Pink Robed is hateful. The Blue Robed is regretful.
And lastly, somehow, even though she has a mask, I can tell… Sabrina is smiling. I am not one to believe in instincts, but right at this moment, I can tell in my sixth sense, Sabrina is joyously celebrating in her heart.
My Ki sensing is at full throttle right now, and with it, I can taste the very minuscule malice that was leaking from Sabrina’s heart. “You hid it pretty well, this malice, Sabrina, I can fucking see it now.”
This is the first time I am feeling something like this right now.
It was so new to me, yet I wasn’t a bit cautious about it. Without second thoughts, I embrace it— the unrealistic hate. I raise my right hand, my index finger out, and from its tip is a “Dot of Singularity!”
The world becomes black, grey, and white. At that instant, I unleash all my might into this world. At that instant in a blink of an eye, half of the arena turns to dust.
Mana of all sorts of attributes chaotically dances from where I was pointing my fingers at. Kneeling on one knee is Sabrina Crook, half of her mask gone, and her clothes in tatters. Standing beside her are Acier Silva and Julius Novachronos. In the rear further to them are the other captains.
All seven of them are responsible for the different colors of mana permeating the area. This must be the result of their effort to block my [Dot of Singularity] at the last second. “Magic Knight Captains of the Clover Kingdom, I am not here for you lot. I just want Sabrina Crook’s head.”
Sabrina Crook, how dare you defile the story I greatly love? For that, you shall pay.
“Move. Out. Of. My. Way.”
