Call it recklessness, but I regret nothing. That [Dot of Singularity] is a bluff anyway. It’s not like I can fight 7 Magic Knight Captains by myself.
“Move out of the way,” I continue on my bluff. “You are protecting the enemy, you morons.”
My confidence in my bluff comes from the various information I was able to accumulate within the duration of this exam. If there is one thing special about me, then that would be my ability in politics.
I am no governor, but as someone who has a serious past of ‘controlling’ people, I am quite keen on manipulating relationships to my advantage. It’s a silver tongue that the modern era where I come from can easily produce if the environment allows it.
One of my favorites among this manipulation is guilt-tripping. “I have been living the lifestyle of a neet for sometimes so I don’t know if it will work. Here goes nothing.” Inside my head, I flip a switch. “Robin Roulecase, tell me. How is a thug like you a hero? A noble thief even? Is the King that fond of you?”
“What?” The green-robed mage frowningly complains. From what I gather, this person is ‘Robin Roulecase’, a fallen noble with criminal charges ranging from robbery, thievery, murder, and even assassination. If I were to make an analogy, he is like ‘Robin Hood’ from what I hear.
My eyes dart around my surroundings. I no longer see any of my fellow applicants around. The data in my head start matching with others. Roulecase is a very familiar surname from the anime, as such, I easily come to the conclusion. “Lord Robin, no, should I say just Robin?” I start trolling him, another manipulative technique.
I cross my arms with my back straight. “Spatial Magic is the Roulecase specialty, isn’t it? Being able to transfer all the other participants here greatly speaks of your prowess, huh? Tell me, is this power so enviable that the King wants it for himself? The others might not see it, but I do. It’s not the Wizard King that has your back, but the Clover King, isn’t it?”
Hearing Robin’s tsk, I smile. With that, I start putting pressure on the seven of them. Sabrina especially is directing me with massive killing intent. Despite all that hate, I feel Sabrina’s composure is still not breaking.
I angle my head and nose up high, I project my face at an angle that would suggest I am looking down at them. “If you lot aren’t coming at me, I might come at you. I am very confident I will be able to level this part of the Royal Capital.”
Again, an empty bluff. But this time, since my threat is more direct, the Magic Knight Captains have no choice but to answer my provocation.
The one stepping ahead of them is Merleona. “If you want a fight, I will bring you one!” Rushing at me with flames on her boots, she arrives in front of me almost visually instantaneously. However, it wasn’t really an instant, that I am sure, for I have been counting each second come.
It takes Merleona about 1.8 seconds to arrive in front of me, I register this data in my head in a very real instant. “The neurons in my head are much faster than you, bitch.” In an ultimate instant, I dodge.
Taking my physical abilities and Ki Sensing into account, I start moving. A slight step with my left foot to the back, tilt my head back to the left, and then… a swift counter with a slap to the face.
~Slap~
A resounding slap is all it takes for silence to once more descend the arena. Merleona is speechless, but as the great fighter she is, she quickly makes a follow-up. With flames on her fist, she rushes at me.
Merleona’s love for battle and victory exudes cruelty and bloodthirst. “Fire Paw!”

I dodge each of her strikes at the most optimal path. I am gaining some muscles recently, so I think I will be able to continue dodging for a long duration. I warily extend my attention to the other 6 Magic Knight Captains. For my ‘plan’ to succeed, this part will be the most difficult.
I have to endure.
“Die,” A soft whisper, and a blue robe. Charice Roselei ganks me from my left. “You are a threat to the kingdom, so die.” Briars with blue roses cling to my limbs. I barely dodge most of them, but it is difficult.
My left arm is bound, and Merleona seems like she will be going for the kill. “Fire Claw!” She savagely cries. My brain is already in overdrive in confronting two captains, imagine one more.
And… Speak of the devil, one more really has come. Murky green patches of mana appear randomly everywhere. From each of them, an arrow flies straight to me.
My mana recovery is insanely slow, but I have just enough! “Singularity Divide!” With a finger, I cut the briars bounding me, parry the arrows most threatening to me, and then finally… stab with it, at Merleona!
Merleona’s battle hungriness is too strong. Looks like she wants to clash with my magic. Fine, have a go at it! However, before that even happens, Robin uses his spatial magic to forcefully drag Merleona back. Following that, Charice also retreats using Robin’s spatial magic.
“Cowards,” Oh, I am not done yet, you bastards! Now that my guilt-tripping is losing its effect, I’d better switch gears and max up my trolling. “Hey fiery bitch, aren’t you going to be the Undefeated Lioness of the Vermillion Nobility? Ha! Dream on! You won’t even be able to fight me in a hundred years!”
I then switch my target to the blue-robed captain with pinpoint accuracy. “And you, old hag! No wonder your entire clan is cursed! And no wonder you are still single and lonely, it is because you are fugly! A fucking ugly hag!”
Oho, I am not done yet, my bullets are limitless. I direct my hostility to Robin. “And you, yeah I am talking to you sneaky thief. Rather than a knight, you’d have better chances as the king of thieves, why don’t you just resign and give me the captain’s seat.”
Hitting the three’s nerves, they cannot help but argue mockingly.
“Shut up, you fucking shorty! You are all talk, then come here and defeat me!”
“Old hag? CHe~ Kids nowadays have no respect for their seniors.”
“Hmmm… I will consider your suggestion, If I do become a thief, you will be the first I will be robbing.”
“Enough is enough,” For the first time, I hear Acier Silva speak in a very cold way. “I will deal with this.”
Ha! Another mortal to troll… Or rather, to incite. “Are you sure you can deal with me? You aren’t showing it, but it looks like the devil already has you in her palms. I have an intuition Sabrina has a hand in it.”
Acier‘s dreadfully chilly eyes land on me. This is unbelievable. I can feel her inhuman glare. To think that Acier Silvia actually has eyes like that is amazing. In the anime, Acier Silva is a character that has long been dead thanks to a curse. Not in my timeline though. I can use that to my advantage.
“Why are you doing this?” Acier throws a straight ball at me. She wants me to answer honestly, huh? No way.
I grin ear to ear, and with gravitas, I stretch my arms outwards and answer. “It is because I am royalty.”
