“The neurons in my head are much faster than you, bitch.”
~Slap~

Merleona’s mind keeps on coming back to that very moment when for the first time in her life, someone actually dares to slap her. She is not some caged helpless bird, but a first is a first. Crimson eyes, dark hair, and a manic grin— these are the features that made quick impressions on her mind of that weird guy.

That slap was a first Merleona will not forget in a long time. She cannot help but reiterate it to herself again and again. Returning her mind to reality and pushing that memory into the back of her head, Merleona once again becomes conscious of her surroundings.

“It is because I am royalty.” The weird guy proclaims. Once again, Merleona hears something outrageous. Do swearing at the Magic Knight Captains not enough for you? Huh? What, you want to lie now? Royalty? You? Why play the jester?

‘What Royalty? You are a fucking son of a lowly baron. Why do I know this? Well, Sabrina keeps on bragging about you bastard… and… huh? Right, Sabrina.’ Merleona’s eyes hover on the silently kneeling Sabrina.

What is this? There is this stickiness at Merleona’s throat. “Sabrina, tell me. Why did that guy attack you?” Merleona can clearly remember it— a terrifying world of silence enveloping all realms in grey, black, and white.

At that exact moment, all seven magic Knights put their effort to block that magic with their mana and raw techniques. That explains the various magic attributes floating in the atmosphere at the point of impact.

Because of Sabrina’s silence, Merleona repeats her question again. “Tell me, why did that weird guy attack you?” If it was something only the scale of Jack's [Death Scythe], they might ignore it, but not this weird guy.

At Merleona’s questioning, the already wary captains have become warier in Sabrina's presence. Except for Acier, the captains subtly create a space between them and the subject in question.

Acier Silva’s cold dreadful gaze lands on Sabrina. “What is the meaning of this?”

From out of nowhere, a mad cackle thunders in the surroundings.

~~~
“K-kihahahaha~” I am laughing not for myself, but for others to see. I have to induce a sense of confidence in my audiences so that they will firmly believe in the conclusions they themselves will create. “Finally, someone is asking the right question! Thank you, oh curious cub.” I compliment Merleona who is staring daggers at me.
Rather than conclusions, it is more apt to describe them as misunderstandings. The curse in Acier Silva is real, however, the individual/s responsible for it are unknown. Not unknown to me though.
It is true that my actions are criminal however, motives exist. It is not like I did what I did because I was angry that Jack was rejected of knighthood, or that I just really hate Sabrina. NO, the Magic Knight Captains will not think like that.
Like how convoluted conspiracies sound more truthful than dumb truths, my scheme allows me to frame Sabrina to a picture in which she won’t find an escape. And for me to succeed, Merleona Vermillion is an important piece that will help me create this picture.
From what I can observe, especially when Merleona and I were engaging in combat, Merleona was specifically looking above my shoulder time and time again. There was no one there or so I assume. There must be something like a ghost in there or magic, but I cannot tell.
What I can tell though is that ‘that magic’ may have connections with Sabrina. It was purely a gut feeling, and it looks like I hit the jackpot.
“Sabrina!” Merleona angrily calls to her. “Why did that weird guy attack you? And why do I sense one of your ghosts hovering around that weird guy?”
Heh~ I know it! With this, my plan to get rid of Sabrina progresses to the next phase.
Sadly, Sabrina won’t go down that easily. “Aaron, you played me like a fool. In the two years of your comma, I did my best to brainwash you through Dream Manipulation, but alas, alas, alas.”
A very dramatic alas, but really, woman? You were trying to brainwash me in my sleep, that’s foul play! Still, judging from her angry expression, this must mean the brainwashing didn’t work.
Sabrina removes what is left of her mask finally revealing her enchanting looks. “To think that all of my efforts in the past two years are wasted on you. Aaron, please die for me, will you?”
Immediately after, the undetectable ghost hovering around me manifests its ugly form. From my peripheral vision, I see its ugly mug and horrendous looks. I cannot detect it with Ki for it is dead already!
This results in a gap in my judgment. In the end, the ghost successfully makes a rear naked choke. “Kuh,” The cold sensation in my neck is familiar. It’s just like the ghost that was strangling me after the Grimoire accepting Ceremony.
I am losing my breath now. Fuck. Am I going to die? I am starting to lose my vision, a blur, and my line of sight is slowly becoming groggy. Coming to my rescue is a burst of light, no, it is flames.
Erasing the ghost behind me to ashes, the beautiful crimson hair waves in front of me. I taste the scent of the sun, a very unique smell you would only taste after drowning in the ocean.
“Thank you,” I tell to the visage of my blurry savior. “T-thank you,” I repeat in fear of her not hearing it. Merleona, one of the righteous characters from the novel is someone I can certainly trust my life to unlike Sabrina who is a complete unknown to me.
To my thank you, Merleona only has two words to say. “Fuck you.”
With a knockout punch, I go to sleep.
