Pulling Dorothy’s ear without mercy, Mereoleona scolds the lass like none other. “So, tell me. Do you want to slap the witch queen? Maybe I will think about it after a hundred years.”
Mereoleona is not foolish enough to antagonize the Witch Queen, someone of a lofty status equivalent to the Wizard King.
“Sigh,” Mereoleona lets go of Dorothy’s ear. “How did you know about my companions? Is it about your dream magic?”
Dorothy passingly mentions her magic attribute to Mereoleona. Though only said in passing, it didn’t escape Mereleona’s ears.
Dorothy sits on her chair. She is not a bit bothered by the presence of the dangerous mage in the room. “Dream magic is a rare magic you won’t see in a century. The Witch Queen was lucky to find me as a baby— that was the story… But I think differently, I think I was kidnapped…
“Dreams or visions have magical meanings that transcend ancient magic. Through ‘Dreamwalk’, I was able to collect information from your head, while you were asleep. I am not that good at it, so the information I obtained from you is only limited to about two to three days from the past.
“This ‘Dreamwalk’ also allows me to trace back the past. This is how I learned that I was kidnapped. I don’t know what place I was from, but I’ll take my chance. When I told you that I want to escape this place, I mean it.”
Mereoleona passively listens to Dorothy. She didn’t interrupt her, or cut in her ‘presentation’, but Mereoleona cannot help but doubt. “Is the Witch Queen a bad person?”
The too-honest question, Dorothy frowns subconsciously. “Maybe. I really cannot tell.”
As a sovereign, the Witch Queen rules over her people, the witches, in a manner befitting of a powerhouse. Wielding great power incomparable to the average mage, the Witch Queen is not an existence that anyone can threaten.
The Clover Kingdom and Diamond Kingdom cannot even dare make a commotion at her doorsteps. This way, the Witch Queen was able to protect what is hers.
Dorothy doesn’t want to speak ill of that great witch, but speaking objectively… “I’d love to say she is a good person, but to be honest… She is as bad as it comes. Do you know? I visited the Witch Queen’s abode once. There was a caged girl there or something… That’s… clearly bad, right?”
The revelation stuns Mereoleona. What caged girl?
Dorothy continues. “Hmmm… If it is dirt that we are talking about, that’s all I have… which is weird. And here I thought she is a bad person. Maybe not at all. Come to think of it, aside from the caged girl, she is pretty much a good queen.”
Mereolona was suddenly speechless at Dorothy’s change of tune.
Out of nowhere, Dorothy slaps her face with her two dainty palms.
The act made Mereoleona jump. “What was that all about?”
“Sorry,” Dorothy stands up from her chair, rummages on the cabinet, and takes a bottle of pills. Dorothy pops up one, and with a sigh of relief, she returns to her sit. “Really sorry about that one.”

Amidst the confusing events, Dorothy remains calm.
Not Mereoleona though. “What was that?”
Dorothy finally offers an explanation. “As I said, the Witch Queen is as bad as she comes. From kidnapping people, imprisoning barely a teen in such a small inhumane cage, and brainwashing her citizens through her curse magic— she is a power-hungry villain you wouldn’t dare cross.”
Brainwashing? Mereoleona finally connects the dots.
Dorothy pushes her bottle of pills to Mereoleona. “Take one.”
Mereoleona just gazes at Dorothy, asking her with her eyes to explain.
Dorothy lets up and tells her what this is all about. “Take the pill, you will need it. These pills are made with my dream magic. It keeps your mind lucid and unaffected by the curse magic enveloping the forest.
“I will only tell you this once, so listen carefully. The Witch Queen is dangerously powerful, especially inside the forest. Even the mention of her ‘title’ would clue her of your actions here. The only reason we can discuss the Witch Queen here is because of the temporary countermeasures I set up in this room. Still, dream magic has its limitations.
“I can deduce the method you used to come here in the forest. While I can collect data from your head while you are asleep, the extraction itself isn’t perfect. As a result, the data I have are fragmented. But like I said, I can ‘deduce’ what happened.
“I don’t know where you exactly got your witch hat. It will certainly buy you time, but in my estimate, you wouldn’t even last half a week in this place. Now, what I can offer you is my assistance. I don’t know what your goals are exactly, and I don’t care about them.
“I just wish for the two of us to come to an agreement. In exchange for me giving you my assistance in infiltrating this place, I want you to promise me that you will help me escape this place. That is all I want… Now, do we have ourselves a deal?”
With her fingers on her chin, Mereoleona internalizes Dorothy’s words in her head. She warily looks at Dorothy. This little witch is definitely amazing and surpasses her expectations.
“How old are you?” Mereoleona casually asks.
“I just turned 15 yesterday,” Dorothy succinctly answers.
Mereolona is neither gullible nor a cynic person. When it comes to decision-making, she never relies on the ‘trust’, and the ‘doubts’ of others.
“Do you have a contract parchment?” At Mereoleona’s inquiry, Dorothy beamingly nods in approval and excitement.
