I patiently wait by the tower’s roadside. There is no Sabrina here. Ugh… Why is that woman so damn irresponsible? I didn’t inherit any of the old Aaron Jester’s memories so I don’t know what to do from here.
From how I see it, Sabrina must be quite acquainted with the old Aaron and my recently dead dad. Sigh… I should stop calling that madman my dad. My real essence after all is not ‘Aaron Jester’.
I guess I should start walking then? Ugh… I already miss the existence of cabs. I’d love to start walking, but I suddenly recall the possible dangers of doing so. Falling boulders, angry big boars, and the usual RPG journeying shit— I am not confident of overcoming them, especially with my extremely useless grimoire.
“Hey, you.”
I look over to where the voice comes from. It was Yami chewing on a piece of twig. I pay him no attention. I’d rather not associate myself with him if I want the original story to remain intact.
If a friendship does sprout between us, and somehow a certain yaoi fetish awakens from Yami, this world will certainly head to ruination. I forbid the thought! My wild imagination will definitely kill me someday.
I immediately run at full speed ahead.
“Hey! Where are you going?” Yami shouts at me, but again, I ignore him.
Yami bolts into a run in his attempt to chase. “I said wait! Damn it!”
I sneak a peek at my back, and to my surprise, he’s already gaining distance at a steady pace. Both of us are not wearing any footwear, but it is still not a fair fight. “I am just a spoiled brat, damn it!” And Yami’s an athletic bastard!
The two of us reach the forest. Finally out of breath, I stop running. “Huff~ huff~ huff~ damn it, why are you running after me? What did I do to you man?”
Yami stands a meter away from me waiting for me to catch my breath. “That’s too much. I just want to talk. What is your problem?”
I think this is an opportunity for me. If I do manage to make Yami purposefully avoid me every time we see each other, it would be a great win for me. “It is because you are a foreigner. Foreigner scares me to death. What if you infect me with your disease?”
“…”
I feel bad for Yami, but this is how people generally treat him.
Yami grits his teeth causing the twig in his mouth to crunch. “Sorry about that.”
Suddenly, an orb of water comes rushing at Yami’s face. The impact is enough to fling Yami for some distance. I was in disbelief as it was too quick and sudden.
Arriving from the thickets, three noble youths start appearing one by one. The one leading their clique is a brown-haired youth who was responsible for throwing the water orb. More water orbs start floating around him in a threatening manner.

Yami forces himself to stand up. The wetness was uncomfortable, but he ignores it.
The water user flaunts his magic as more water orbs surround him. “Be grateful foreigner. I am personally helping you take a bath.”
Another youth, one with blonde hair, looks in my direction. “I can recognize you. You are also a noble, right? Hah! Calling this foreigner diseased is quite entertaining.”
Fuck, they were watching. I regret seeing these folks, but I think they could be of use to me. Sorry, Yami but you have to suffer more for now. “It’s not just the disease you know? Their very existence in our lands is harming itself. While other peasants are working hard for their food, a random foreigner would start begging and stealing for theirs.” I lace my words with poison and malice. I see Yami hatefully looking at us. Good, he should remember that feeling.
Another youth, one with black hair, offers his opinion. “I don’t care about peasants, but I agree this foreigner just has to go.”
Wait, what? Has to go? A sudden fear starts rising from my heart.
Black hair flicks his finger at once, and suddenly, murky darkness rises from where Yami stands. Absorbing and trapping his legs, Yami was helpless as a series of water orbs rushes at him at once.
It didn’t just stop there as Blonde hair also unleashes his magic from his grimoire. Lightning elements emanate in the surroundings further boosting the effects of the water orb.
I watch all of this happen in a second. “What have I done?”
Too late for any regrets, I do my best to adapt to the situation. I can’t have Yami dying here.
I run to Yami in my poor attempt to intercept the water orbs. While running, I manage to grab a pebble, which I decisively hurl at the black-haired youth who I deem to be the most dangerous.
Black hair annoyingly smirks at me as he summons a dark plate that accurately shields him from the pebble. I wait in despair as the water orbs close to me. Closing my eyes, I pray that this is all a bad dream.
Alas, the pain didn’t reach me. Opening my eyes, I see an iridescent purple barrier protecting me.
Descending from above, Sabrina Crook coolly makes her entrance. “Sheesh… Kids nowadays are so brutal. Go home, you brats if you don’t want me to kill you. I am the Magic Knight Captain of Purple Orca, you bitches, go home!”
Black hair suspiciously looks at Sabrina. Well, I can understand his thoughts. Sabrina isn’t exactly a famous Magic Knight Captain. I can tell because she with purple orca, duh? I cannot help but remove this nasty prejudice in my heart about Purple Orca, but it looks like I hit the mark.
Brown hair who is summoning more water orbs questions, Sabrina, in a heavy tone. “Magic Knight Captain, really? Stop overselling yourself. You don’t look like one.”
Sabrina shuts her mouth. If words don’t work, then she can only act on them. She releases her magic power to the surroundings causing Brown hair’s water orbs to pop. “Brat, are you really a noble? You don’t look like one.”
