—————————————

Year 2312, in a dystopian future, about 200 years ago, sights of giant creatures started appearing everywhere, this forced humanity to live in walls. We call these creatures, Estrellas. Vesterias is a form of military that fends off these giants with high-tech mechs, Vesterias is our only hope of humanity’s survival.

Shigo looked up at the girl, his vision slightly blurry from the beating he had just received. She was dressed in black and blue, gold uniform of the Vesterias, a sword strapped to her side.

"Are you okay?" she asked, her voice laced with concern. Shigo’s first instinct was to brush off her question and crawl away, but something in her eyes made him pause.

"I'm fine," he muttered, pushing himself to his feet.

The girl didn't look convinced. "You don't look fine," she said, her eyes scanning over the bruises and cuts on his face. "Come on, let me help you."

Shigo hesitated for a moment, then relented and allowed the girl to help him to his feet. As they walked down the alleyway, he couldn't help but feel a strange sense of familiarity towards her. He couldn't shake the feeling that they had met before, even though he knew that was impossible.

As they approached the main street, the girl stopped and turned to him. "My name is Ayumi," she said, holding out her hand. "I'm a member of the Vesterias."

Shigo hesitated before taking her hand. "I'm Shigo," he said, feeling a sudden rush of sadness at the mention of his father. "My dad used to be one of the Vesterias too, before he died."

Ayumi’s eyes softened at the mention of his father. "I'm sorry for your loss," she said, her grip on his hand tight. "But you don't have to follow in his footsteps if you don't want to. You can choose your own path.

Shigo wasn't sure what to say to that. He had always assumed that joining the Vesterias was the only way he could honor his father's memory, but the idea of making his own choices was tantalizing.

As they walked through the streets of the city, Shigo found himself opening up to Ayumi about his past and his struggles. She listened patiently and offered her support.

Later that day, Shigo sat in his room, staring at the wall as he thought about Ayumi's words, “You don’t have to follow in his footsteps if you don’t want to. You can choose your own path..” Shigo thinks back. He had always been torn about joining the Vesteria. But the thought of following in his father's footsteps filled him with a sense of dread.

His father had been a member of the Vesterias, and he had died on a mission years ago when Shigo was only seven. Shigo still remembered the day he had received the news - the pain and grief had been overwhelming. He had vowed to never join the Vesterias, to never put himself in the same position as his father.

But now, with Ayumi's words, Shigo was beginning to reconsider. He knew that he couldn't let his fear hold him back forever. And maybe, just maybe, he could make a difference and honor his father's memory at the same time.

But it wasn't an easy decision, and Shigo struggled with it for days. He went back and forth, weighing the pros and cons, trying to decide what was the right thing to do. In the end, he knew that he had to follow his heart, even if it meant taking a risk. And so, he made the decision to join the Vesterias, hoping that he could make a difference and find a sense of purpose in the process.
