Chapter 13: Chakra Control Part 1

The new house was not much different from the apartment, just slightly bigger. Jiraiya gave Yuki the bigger room since he was not going to be around much. As it was late, Yuki did not stay up for long and laid down to go to sleep. But before she did, she decided to talk with Rukia some. "Rukia, I'm sorry…. I got in your way…. And now you are stuck inside me."

"No… It was my own incompetence that led to this. I let my guard down. I should have concentrated on the enemy at all times. No more like I should have run further away. I stopped to fight like an idiot, and now the result is as you can see. If not for you, I would have been consumed. So in actual fact, I owe you. While you now have my powers. You have allowed me to stay alive. There still may be a chance to extract what remains of me, but we would need to go to the soul society to find out. Which we can not do."

"Why?" Yuki did not understand why they couldn't go. If they went, Rukia might be able to free herself from being locked inside her body.

"Because if you were to go there, they would rip me out of you even if it means killing you. You are still young and do not need to die. But I do fear that it will only be a matter of time before someone comes to this world to check on things."

"We will deal with it when the time comes. Until then, I will grow stronger so I can handle whatever is thrown at me." Yuki clenched her little fist and closed her eyes. "Rukia…."

"Hmmm?"

"Let's work together so you can be free once again…."

Rukia hummed in response. She could tell Yuki had fallen to sleep. She turned and looked at the humanoid woman with white furry fox ears and nineteen tails swaying back and forth with a complicated expression. "Why did you force our merger?"

[Why wouldn't I? Little shinigami girl, know this, everything that has happened has been foreordained. Her coming to this world. Her taking over the body I inhabit. Everything. You only need to do your job and teach her how to use her powers. After all, this will be your one and only role.]

"But why? Why her? Why me?"

[These questions will be answered in due time. Watch her grow. Watch as she rises up in this world. And watch as she starts new waves not only here but….. Well, you will see. Now I would like to rest. Fusing a tail into her sword was no easy feat after all.]

Rika was left with many unanswered questions. The only thing she was glad about was the space she was in looked like a normal house. She ignored the fox that was lounging on a cushioned bench seat and walked up to the second floor to find a room to claim as her own.

The next day Yuki was up early. She began running around the house. She wanted to get as much training in as possible. While she may still be young, she still wanted to take advantage of the situation. "Oh, someone is  up bright and early."

"Good morning…" Yuki huffed as she ran by Jiraiya.

"Take a break and come with me. Before you really get into training, we need to get you  proper clothing." Hearing Jiriaya's words, she paused her steps and nodded her head. Her current clothes were shinigami clothing. Well, her own personal brand as hers were pure white. While they did not seem to be affected by her sweat or dirt, she did not wish to wear them all the time.

"Humph! What is wrong with a shihakusho?" Yuki heard Rukia snort inside her mind.

"Rukia, while it is easy to move in, it is not something I wish to wear day and night." Yuki answered as she went to wash her face before heading out with Jiraiya. Rukia did not answer and only pursed her lips. She still did not understand why it mattered.

Jiraiya carried Yuki as he walked to the nearest ninja clothing store. When he stepped in, he put her down and began looking around. "Let's see…. You will need quite a few pairs."

"Can I help you?" The shopkeeper, a young woman, asked as she walked over to Jiraiya.

"I need ten sets of everyday clothing, ten sets of training clothing, and a few nightshirts for the little one here." Jiraiya replied as he rested his hand on top of Yuki's head.

The young woman looked at Yuki and asked her: "What colors do you like?"

"Blue and white…." Yuki answered. She did not know the colors people were allowed to wear, so she just went with her favorite colors.

"Give me a few moments then, please." The young woman turned around and began pulling things off the shelf. After a while, her hands were overly full of clothes. "Follow me this way, please."

The two were led over to a large table where the young woman pulled out three different sized outfits and passed them to Jiraiya. "Have her try these on and tell me which ones fit best."

Jiraiya felt a little awkward as he was handed all the clothing. He quickly turned to Yuki and handed them to her. "Go ahead and try them on."

"Mmm…" Yuki took the clothes and walked over to the dressing room.

"She doesn't need help?" The shopkeeper asked.

"More like if I did try to help, I would end up beaten half to death." Jiraiya was not dumb. He weighed less than those rocks Yuki moved last time. If she got mad, wouldn't he be tossed around without any way to save himself? Not to mention she has a twenty tail beast inside her.
