Chapter 14: Chakra Control Part 2

Jiraiya and Yuki spent most of the morning doing all the shopping they needed for the house. Besides her clothes, Jiraiya made sure there were plenty of pots and pans, bedding, food, and other household needs.

When they got back, Jiraiya had Yuki put on comfortable clothes to begin training. She sat in the living room in front of a table that had a bowl of water. Jiraiya stood on the other side with a chalkboard that had some drawings on it. "To start off with, chakra is, in essence, what every person has. Some have smaller amounts of it, while others have larger amounts. As for you…. It seems you have much more than you…. Why do you have your sword on you?"

Jiraiya had noticed earlier that even while they were walking around outside to do some shopping, this little girl had her sword attached to her hip. Yuki tilted her head to the side, feeling confused. "As a shinobi, is it not bad to be left unprotected? Plus, this sword is part of me. Unlike the weapons you may use, the sword is a part of my own soul reforged with one of Khione's tails. Basically, even if I were to leave it home, it would appear on my waist."

"I see. This is quite a unique feature." Jiraiya scratched his chin and decided to drop the subject. The whole thing with shinigamis and souls was beyond him.  "Ahem… As I was saying, to utilize chakra, one must be able to control the flow of it in your body, and then by molding just the right amount of chakra in combination with hand signs, you will be able to use jutsu."

"You say mold it and use hand signs. Isn't this counterproductive? Wouldn't it be much better to learn how to take complete control over your chakra so you can manipulate it at will? This way, not only would you not need to form hand signs, but you can also use your jutsu instantly. As long as you have the image in your mind along with the correct amount of molded chakra, right?" Yuki saw the use of hand signs as a waste of time. It made no sense to her. If the power was already in your body, then it should be easy enough to just will the chakra using mental imaging to use the jutsu.

"This is correct, but to be able to do so will take a lot of time. As you are still new to chakra…. Well, I guess it would be better to have you try it out for yourself." Jiraiya smiled and walked over to the other side of the table. "Stand up and lift your shirt up to the top of your stomach."

Yuki did not find this strange at all since she had a strange black tattoo on her stomach after Jiraiya sealed her chakra. She lifted her shirt up halfway, revealing her stomach while Jiraiya's fingertips lit up. Unlike before, where he jabbed her in the stomach, this time he gently placed his fingertips on the five corresponding points and twisted his hand before retracting it.'

It was then that Yuki finally felt what the flow of chakra felt like as it flowed through her body. It was gentle and warm and made her feel even more energized. She put her shirt down and closed her eyes as she concentrated on the flow of chakra in her body. Jiraiya did not say anything as he stepped back and watched the little girl in front of him. He could feel a slight chill coming off her body, but the little girl's cheeks were still rosy, showing no signs of being affected by the cold.

[Hmmm…  Not bad your chakra is mixing well with your soul. This will make it much easier for you to use.]

'Khione? Is this why I do not feel the coldness as I did before?' Yuki was not speaking out loud. She found she could communicate with Rukia inside her mind, so she figured this was the same with Khione. She just never imagined that Khione would speak with her.

[That is correct. Your chakra and soul have mixed well. Just learn to control the flow of your chakra. Feel it moving through your body and try to move it towards your hand. Since you have a strong synergy with snow, you can use this to not only create water, but also ice. Hold your hand out in front of you with your palm facing up. Then picture a spinning ball of ice in your hand. Once you have a firm image, then release your chakra into your hand while keeping that image.]

'Release?' Yuki did not understand this part. She did not know how to release chakra at all.

[Think of how you use that thing you call psychokinesis. It is the same concept.]

'I see!' Yuki's lips curled up into a smile as she did as Khione told her. She changed the flow of her chakra so that it would move towards her hand. And slowly began releasing it until a small ball of ice began to form. Slowly but surely, it got bigger and bigger until it was the size of a baseball and spun in place, floating above the palm of her hand.

"This…." Jiraiya was stunned. He never thought the little girl would be able to control her chakra so easily. Not only that, she was forming a ball of ice instead of snow. He stared at the ball of ice in Yuki's hand before making a decision. "Yuki, get changed. We will go outside. If you are able to control your chakra this well, we will slowly unlock the seal and see how much you can actually control before it is too much."

Yuki nodded. She did not find anything out of the ordinary when she used the chakra just now.  In fact, she found the whole process quite easy. It was as simple as using psychokinesis, except she had to move the flow of chakra in her body. Her only issue was getting a feel of how much chakra she would need to use each jutsu. But that would come with practice.
